Not sure if Unilocal is really proper venue for reviewing mid-​size CPA firms, but I saw the cranky review by Sandy and I just need to counter it.
F&D is THE best CPA firm I have worked with in 16 years I have building companies. Be it venture funded or self-​funded company you run, they truly get it what their role is — take care of your business, keep the IRS off you neck, and make sure you make sound financial business decisions you will not regret down the road.
What makes them truly exceptional is that they have a long-​term view towards their clients. They want to be your CPA when you are 500-​employee strong and you are at 7 now. They want to help you get there. Often advice you get from them is novel even to someone who has been around finance for a while. They don’t box themselves in with common practices and look for what is best practice for YOU.
When you have great CPAs, attorneys, bookkeepers, and bankers pulling together with you in the same direction, building companies is no longer as hard and painful.

Expensive, low-​quality accounting firm. Our company used them for a few years. They had poor account management and borderline accounting practices. In addition, they are expensive for the quality of service provided and we would advise any company to take their accounting needs elsewhere.
