Exec Cleaning and Maid Service

We loved this cleaning service a year ago, but they seem to have gotten worse since they merged with handibook. We scheduled a cleaning and at the last minute we were told they overbooked and they weren’t coming. They gave us a % off our next cleaning, so we scheduled another one and they did the same thing. Too bad, because the service was really great.

Michael was on time, even few minutes earlier and did a great job cleaning.
The prices are very reasonable for a Boston area. I would recommend Exec Cleaning.

DON’T EVER BOOK EXEC CLEANING AND MAID SERVICE. I am not sure but if this let’s me, I will not give it any stars but if you must give a star, I will have to give it one.
I hired this obviously FAKE cleaning firm through Groupon as a gift to friends of mine that were getting married. I hoped it would be a big help just before the Wedding. OH MY GOD, when I was able to write my name in the grease on the stove I was happy that I stopped by to check up on the cleaner they sent. She told me that it must have gotten greasy AFTER she cleaned it 10 minutes ago! When I found her trying to vaccum the rug with the Carpet Shampooer I knew we were in for trouble.
I just received a phone call from my friends telling me they had to get a plumber in the middle of the night because the toilet started overflowing at 2am and would not stop! It was clogged up with the Swiffer cleaning puffs my friend gave the Exec cleaner to use to dust the upstairs bedrooms! Now, they have a $ 140.00 Plumbing bill. Yes, I will notify Groupon that this company is obviously using them to send fake cleaners to people’s homes just to make mone by using Groupon. DO NOT HIRE this service. YOU WILL BE SORRY.

I had a wonderful experience with Evey today! She showed up early (called first to make sure it was ok) and did a great job cleaning my apartment, which was pretty dirty. Evey was very personable as well.
Booking with Exec was very easy and I was able to get an appointment within a few days.

I purchased a Livingsocial deal for Exec back in October (just now getting around to writing this!), hoping that the price of the voucher, plus the extra I paid for baseboard cleaning would lead to a spotless apartment.
I will give the company points for being thorough about communicating via text as to when the cleaners are on their way, etc. However, the texts I received were inaccurate. I stayed home from work to be there when they arrived, so when they were 30 minutes late after I’d already been texted that they were on their way and had subsequently arrived, I was really not too pleased. One of the cleaners did call me to let me know that they’d be late, but by then, it was about 40 minutes past my appointment time and they would’t arrive for at least another 20 – 30. Meanwhile, I wrote an email to a customer service rep at Exec, hoping maybe she’d offer something more than a half-​hearted apology for their delay.
The cleaning job was sloppy at best and I really don’t think they did a better job than I do on a regular basis. I’m sure that they were tired, as mine was the last appointment of the day at 3:30, but perhaps not overbooking their employees would be better than having them do a mediocre cleaning job?
No surfaces were wiped or dusted besides the accessible kitchen & bathroom countertops. Baseboards were not cleaned, despite the extra fee I paid to have that done. Not even the lightest, smallest pieces of furniture were moved out of the way or reached under to sweep/​dust/​mop (and I’m not talking china cabinets here… not even the end tables were moved, despite clumps of dust in plain sight). And a dirty rag on a swiffer was used to mop the floors.
Overall, the parts that were cleaned were done decently well, but I really don’t feel as though I got what I paid for. If you’re fine with just a light cleaning, I’d say either opt to do it yourself or look for a cheaper service. It’s not worth the money spent.

Update on this: exec followed up with me and gave me a free cleaning the next week due to the glitch. They were responsive and helpful, and the cleaning they did the next week was great.

Exec cleaning is good if you need your dorm room cleaned/​apartment cleaned when you are sharing with 4 other roommates etc. Basic cleaning — with no one really caring if it got cleaned thoroughly other than it looks presentable and you don’t look like a slob.
The crew sent over to my place didn’t really know how to clean… I am assuming this is due to lack of quality control at the company and insufficient training. You can’t book at exec and feel assured that your place will get cleaned professionally 100%. It all depends on who shows up to your apartment/​house to clean.
Here are my issues:
–They arrived late. They sent a text message through their automatic system that they have begun cleaning your apartment. when no one had yet arrived, then another text message from their personal phone that they are looking for parking. They should only send the official we are cleaning your apartment, when they are actually cleaning your apartment. They ended arriving 20 minutes late.
–I have wooden floors. They don’t have anything for to clean with for wooden floors. They used swiffer — and my floors were sticky afterwards — it felt like you were walking in a frat, all sticky from the spilled beer.
–They didn’t vacuum before wiping the floor… Isn’t that Cleaning 101? You vacuum, then you mop? Either they were lazy, or they received poor training. Either way — unacceptable for a professional cleaning service.
–They need training on how to dust a room
–They did an excellent job cleaning my stove top HOWEVER only 2 out of the 4 burners now turn on… It’s a gas burner.
–I never received chocolate. All clients should receive chocolate — not just select individuals (if chocolate is in fact an exec thing and not one cleaner’s personal touch)
The customer service /​office people are very professional and respond immediately to questions and inquiries. They offered another cleaning. But one of the two cleaners who showed up, cleaned on the first shift… so that was awkward and uncomfortable for no good reason other than exec’s lack of thought?

I cannot give more stars. I want to give one. I cost $ 234 for just clean my stove and toliet? I thought cost more may have better result. it turn out I am wrong. I left after I told cleaner what I really care about, clean the surface in bathroom, romve sticky oil in kitchen. but I was so disappointed when I back home. For this apartment, it is fairly easy to clean. I could not state more because I am more angry now.

I’m STILL missing one of the tiebacks for my curtains. i’m 99.99% certain that the Exec cleaners vacuumed it up. I will always think of my shitty cleaning every time I see that only 3 of my 4 curtain panels in my living room are tied up.
oh, and LOL at the fact that someone thinks i’m requesting chocolates like some diva. it’s exec’s signature thing. and, to their credit they sent me some in the mail after.

I tried these guys out through a promotion. I really enjoyed the hassle free online booking and I was particularly pleased I could book something as soon as the next day. The cleaners stayed for almost three hours and cleaned everything they possibly could! They even cleaned out my coffeepot of old coffee. :)
I like the idea that you could easily book this service as a gift for a friend.
I love the nice touch of leaving chocolates behind and the text message updates.

I tried out a few house cleaning services when I first moved to SF. I use exec in SF on a pretty regular basis now. I eventually came up on Exec Cleaning and have stuck with them since, so I was definitely excited to hear that they had expanded their cleaning service to Boston where my aunt lives. She’s been using the same maid service for a while now, but mostly because she doesn’t want to deal with the headache of calling/​testing out other cleaning services.
Anyway, my aunt was definitely happy with the cleaning. She’s not very tech-​savvy, but said their website was pretty easy to navigate and that the text message updates were a nice touch to keep her informed on when they would arrive (since she’s at home most of the day anyway). As for the quality, she was definitely pleased with how clean her house was after. The price point may be a little higher than hiring a maid or small cleaning service off Craigslist, but definitely worth the convenience and quality! Now auntie has a clean home and I won some brownie points with her.

I go back and forth between Oakland, CA and Cambridge, MA. My place in Cambridge can get a little chaotic because of my travel, and because of having various folks staying there when I’m gone.
A friend in SF recommended the Exec home cleaning service, so the last time I was in Cambridge, I had Exec clean my place. The online booking made it super-​easy to schedule – no more phone tag and miscommunication, which had been problems with previous cleaners.
I wasn’t there when Exec cleaned the place. They did a great job. I was particularly happy with the kitchen, and with the bathroom, where they got rid of some persistent mildew.
Another key point is that they use green cleaning supplies. This is very important to me.
One of the best cleaning experiences I’ve had – I’ll definitely use them again.

Vincent and Rakim were awesome from the moment they arrived, immediately putting on protective booties and getting to work. In a few hours, they scrubbed away years of accumulated grime. Though it took a little longer than originally planned, they were happy to stay and get the job done!

After my great experience in Chicago with Exec Cleaning, I decided to get my girlfriend a cleaning to surprise her after I visited. I am not sure how they did it, but Exec Cleaning is the same great product in both cities! There was a lot of availability and I was able to book right from the website for the next day.
As I was leaving, the cleaners showed up on time and got right to work. My friend was so surprised! By the time she came back, everything was sparkling, and they even gave left her two chocolates (one for each of us). My friend really appreciated the gesture and I really appreciated how easy it was to have Exec clean up after my weekend mess!
I don’t know about you, but I am sold on Exec and wish I could use as a gift for my friends in every city I visit — unfortunately my next trip is to DC and they don’t seem to serve there. I’ll be hoping they expand before June!

I recently had my apartment cleaned by Exec Cleaning and it was wonderful. The cleaners were prompt, brought their own supplies, and thoroughly cleaned everything. They really went above and beyond. Scheduling an appointment was easy and straight forward. I would highly recommend Exec Cleaning!
