Anne Galvin: Anne has been in the real estate business since 2002, and got her start with a small local firm before moving on to a larger franchise brokerage. Obtaining her Broker’s license in 2007, when she and Craig founded The Galvin Group, Anne’s successes continue to come from her hard work and dedication to her clients, supported by her knowledge of the ins and outs of the current market and all of its intricacies.

Craig Galvin: A life-​long resident of Dorchester, Craig Galvin has been in the real estate business since 2003, and he had partnered up with Anne while working for a larger franchise brokerage. Craig’s background in sales and his strong negotiation skills have contributed to his successful partnership with Anne since they started out.

He has an uncanny ability for gathering information to determine what property types best suit a Buyer’s needs. His connections in and around the neighborhood make him an invaluable asset to any Seller or Buyer.

Do not call my husband on his personal number and yell at him because you are not happy we are sharing our experience with your firm on social media!
If you use this broker and are unhappy with their services, be careful if you complain, because Anne Galvin threatened to press charges against me for answering their poorly written self seving «reply». What a bully! They will sink pretty low for a few thousand dollars.
FYI Galvin Group, This is 2015 and people post in a public forum when they are unhappy with a business whose services they have used. That is what review forums are for.
Renters need to know about this experience so they will not be put out of pocket like we were. This kind of expense in these markets can put a family into homelessness,

So first off, I have never given anyone a review on here, I signed up on Unilocal to try and save people from hard times with this company.
I have never dealt with worse people in my life. Aileen Buckley is nothing but disrespectful and truly doesn’t care about the tenants at all. Our fridge broke within the first few months of living there. We contacted The Galvin Group and got no response. Not until we decided to not pay the rent did they decide to do something about our broken fridge. We had no fridge for about a week or 2 and they didn’t reimburse us for the spoiled food. Actually upon asking for a reimbursement, they never replied to the email, shocking!
We never had an agreement to drop off the rent to their office, not in the lease. The Galvin Group «required» it be dropped off, so we followed their garbage orders. Multiple times upon dropping off the rent, the very large women at the front desk would give me attitude, lovely.
All you have to do is walk into this office and you will understand what a joke this place is, I can’t believe landlords let these people treat their tenants the way they do.
Lastly, the security deposit. My roommate and I moved out and cleaned the entire apartment top to bottom. Not only did it take them a month to get back to us about the security deposit, they charged us $ 400 cleaning charge on a Microsoft Word Document as the receipt, cool receipt guys. Leave it up to The Galvin Group to send you a MS Word Document saying «Cleaning $ 400». The company «Fantastic Cleaners» that was responsible for this $ 400 charge is not a real company and they gave us no way to contact this company.
If you have any chance of working or dealing with these clowns, DON’T!!!

When buying a home, all parties should be expected to to act in good faith and to be ethical in all dealings.
We met Craig at the open house for 1144 Adams street Dorchester, he was super friendly and knowledgable about the area. My wife and I were so excited. We put in an offer at asking (425) and from then on everything about the process was labored and painfully slow.
We asked for easy things, like a one page questionnaire to be filled out, we had to ask every day for three weeks and it took him a month to turn it around. During the inspection I asked questions about what would be done in the unit, since they weren’t done renovating, he said «write down everything.» When I did just that, we were actually criticized us for being too «detailed oriented». By the way, the inspection revealed the unit needs a new roof (contact me and I’ll be happy to give you copies of inspection and appraisal). Throughout the purchase and sale agreement negotiations everything was redlined and noted as a change, until the last revision they unfairly (unethically?) snuck a change of verbiage and didn’t point it out.
The final kicker was that 5 days before closing, the appraisal came in 45k under (380k appraisal August 18th) and Craig told us that the seller wasn’t going to negotiate on price, at all. Not necessarily Craig’s fault on that, but good luck getting a future client to pay 45k over. Wish I could warn them what they are in for.
We are first time buyers and we had everything prepared and in line, we should have walked when we saw how difficult they were to work with at inspection. If you work with the Galvin Group, make sure your agent and lawyer are on top of things.
