Encore Bed & Breakfast

A true gem in Boston’s best neighborhood. We stayed at Encore last night and absolutely loved it. Our host Reinhold is so nice and gracious. The place was beautiful, immaculately clean, comfortable bedding (lovely sheets) and breakfast was delicious. Can’t say enough about this place; it is aptly named Encore as we definitely will be back. Thank you for a wonderful experience, Reinhold!

Relly nice place! You choose your breakfast the day before from a list and it is served to you in the kitchen. It’s a little $$$, but honestly cheaper than anything else I could find, I guess that is Boston! Reinhold (owner) was awesome in making sure we got there ok, and even went out to help us park. Charming little neighborhood, it’s awesome because you can walk everywhere. I also liked because it was homey, not like a hotel. We will definitely stay here next time we are in Boston!

Reinhold (owner) was very communicative prior to our visit, offering assistance with regards to directions from the airport, check-​in process, etc. which was greatly appreciated, especially since this was our first trip to Boston.
Encore is located in the historic south end in a charming converted townhouse. The residential street is tree-​lined, and although close to busy Tremont St., surprisingly quiet. We took advantage of the mild weather during our stay, and walked to the historic center, and even the north end, but public transportation is close by and always an option.
We stayed in the Albee room, which is large and nicely appointed; plenty of room for luggage and lots of hangars in the closet. The mattress was too hard for our liking and the pillows were flat, but that’s a matter of personal preference. We opened the sliding door to the deck to let the nice weather in. The en-​suite bathroom is very modern, with Aveda toiletries. It was disconcerting to find a pu**ic hair by the TP roll on our first day. It had me wondering what else we might find or how good the housekeeping staff was. Thank heavens that experience was not repeated and the room was always clean & neat when we returned after a full day of exploring.
The breakfast is not cooked to order but more continental style — pastries, cheeses, soft boiled eggs, yogurt with fruit and/​or granola, etc. Just the right amount to start the day and very high quality. Reinhold gets the pastries from Flour, a neighborhood bakery, and everything we tried from there was to die for! (addicted to the lemon scones!). He also recommended several places to eat, and he was spot on.
Very well-​run establishment and I would have no qualms about staying here again.

Whenever I’m in Boston, I stay here. In fact, I recently took a trip there for the sole purpose of spending a relaxing weekend at the B&B. I believe this was my 3^rd or 4^th time here. Reinhold is a true sweetheart and very accommodating. I always enjoy our conversations about his work prior to starting the inn and life in general. This time around, I got to meet David as well. The three of us enjoyed brunch together since the bakery where they normally get breakfast pastries from was closed.
The rooms are beautiful, modern and clean. I’ve stayed in the Robbins, Sondheim and Albee rooms but the Albee is by far my favorite (the gorgeous deck is hard to resist). The neighborhood is safe and quiet with lots of little shops and restaurants in the area and it’s close to several buses with Back Bay Station or South Station.
Great place. Can’t recommend it enough.

Wish I could give it one star. The inn keepers are rude and unprofessional. We booked the entire B and B for our family but due to medical reasons we had to cancel. I called 12 weeks prior to our arrival date (they asked for a 4 week cancellation) and they told em they were charging me anyway and then hung up on me. Thanks but no thanks. That is no way to run a business. Keep it up and you wont be in business long.

Spent three days here: Great cozy charming place in a convenient location. The owners were very helpful. All around great experience, I highly recommend it.

Just stayed at the Encore B&B recently and what a little gem! Someone had recommended it to me thank goodness, because otherwise I’m sure I would have missed it in my travel research. TripAdvisor offers plenty of detailed and glowing reviews. My favorite parts were the very convenient South End location, the very stylish room décor, the awesome (German?) owner who was warm and ready to help with any requests, and the great complimentary breakfasts they make for you each morning. It was very tidy, had plenty of charm (including a theater-​inspired decorating focus), and made this B&B first timer want to consider more of them in the future.
Not sure why the other review refers to it as a bar, but as of now, it is definitely a cute little bed and breakfast spot, that I would highly recommend.
