Damaris – Salon Monet Loft

I have been going to Damaris for 3 years now and I am hard pressed to go elsewhere. I had natural virgin black hair and she does an amazing job of coloring it without damaging it. I get tons of compliments each time she does my hair. My hair is super curly naturally and not everyone can style it or manage it.
Don’t think twice about going to see her! She’s worth it.

Damaris is fantastic. I have been going to her on and off for ten years. She always listens to what I want, cuts my hair to suit my face, and this last time I got my hair colored. I was really nervous, it was my first time, and kept repeating «natural please» and she nailed it. So happy.

I’ve never written a review before but I have to say, Damaris performs miracles! I came in with dead ends and 3 tone hair AKA HOT MESS! I couldn’t be happier with the results I’ve gotten and I’ve been all over Newbury St and Boston trying to find someone who does what you want and gives you honest advice for what looks good!
Aside from walking out the door and feeling like a million bucks when you walk out, you get the best company and conversation around town!

These 1 star reviews are NOT for Damaris. She shares her salon space and certainly doesn’t do eyebrows or claim to be a weave expert. Silly people.
Damaris listens to you and can work magic on your hair. There’s not many hairdressers I’d trust but Damaris is one of the best. Plus, she’s hilarious and sassy. Just don’t waste her time as she has a dedicated client base who need her.

A few days after I moved to Boston earlier this month, I was wandering down Newbury street looking for a place to get my brows waxed, and I stumbled across this place. It piqued my interest because it wasn’t on ground level — it seems like everything is on Newbury Street. The reviews seemed pretty good so I decided to give it a try. I walked in and met Maitrieya. She was very sweet, professional, and welcoming. It was probably the most painless brow shaping I’ve ever had done. The price is a little more than what I would pay with the hole-​in-​the-​wall Korean salon I frequented in Brooklyn, but Maitrieya made it worthwhile. I like her and I’ll definitely be going back to also get my hair taken care of.

Maitreya Sandness is my go-​to girl for eyebrows… seriously, she is a goddess, don’t go anywhere else! On top of being so friendly and awesome, she has genuine skills and knows what she is doing! After horrible experiences with eyebrows, I am so excited to have found the perfect person to do them!
Maitreya listens to you and really hears what you want/​how you would like to have your brows. She keeps mine full and shapely but makes sure they are clean cut and clear… not a hair out of place. I can’t wait to have her give me some highlights!

Damaris has been cutting my hair for over 9 years now and for good reason! She’s excellent at both color and cuts. She recently colored my hair – as she’s always highlighted it and i called to tell her I love the color! I wished I had persuaded her to do it years ago! Lance is excellent as well, he gave my 8 year old son the best cut he’s ever had. I plan on having Lance cut his hair forever! Go to SML, you won’t be disappointed.

I am writing this review based on my first experience at Salon Monet.
I bought the Bloomspot deal and booked my cut and color with Damaris. I phoned and she was amenable to my crazy work schedule and got me in a week later in the evening.
They have done a great job with the limited space. The salon is cozy, but well kept.
I was coloring my hair pretty dark, and showed Damaris a couple photos of what i was going for. She was friendly and conversational, but not over the top chatty. She finished my hair color and started the blow dry. She noticed that my hair pulled some red, and offered to recolor my entire hair. I was so happy. She recolored my hair and it turned out PERFECT. I really could not be happier. And, the cut is wonderful as well.
To have that amount of consideration and respect for a first time client is a rare find and I would recommend her to all of friends and consider myself a new client.
Also, her business partner, Lance, was there and really seemed great. I don’t think you can go wrong at Salon Monet Loft.

Damaris has been my hair stylist for about 10 years now. Where Damaris goes I follow! Her latest salon is cute and pleasant (and still conveniently located on Newbury). She is a great stylist because she really listens to what you want but isn’t afraid to express her professional opinion and give suggestions. She genuinely cares about her customers and always has honest insight both on hair and life dilemmas :)

I recently visited Salon Monet Loft for the first time, to see my incredibly talented and creative stylist Damaris, for an overdue transformation. As always, I left her chair looking FAB and feeling vivacious!
Damaris’s talent, her uplifting personality and passion for her trade puts her in the forefront of her competition!!!
Her new space is stylishly unique and inviting, which makes me want to go back sooner than I probably need to! ;)

Damaris saved me from a horrible «bangs» accident back in 2001. That means I’ve been a client for ten years and that pretty much means she is the best! I have seen her at 3 different salons over the years. Last night was my first visit to the brand new Salon Monet Loft. Damaris, her coworker the amazing Lance, and his lovely wife have taken the old Salon Monet ‘spa’ space on the 4^th floor and brought it to life. It is beautiful and personal and full of laughs. Go see them and you won’t be disappointed by the talent, or the personalities.

I have been a client of Damaris for nearly 7 years… And in those years, she has transformed my hair multiple times from deep dark chestnuts to platinum blonde to cinnamon red… I’m not the type of girl to keep my cut or color the same, ever… Each time I leave Damaris’s chair, I feel refreshed, edgy and super fabulous! She has talent, charisma, vision and energy that is contagious from the moment you walk in the door. Her new location is as inviting as her personality and I can’t wait to go back in for a trim! :)
