a welcome beacon of a bathroom in an unforgiving sea of downtown.
Coffee ain’t bad either.
the wife and I needed a pissoir, so we stopped in the chain that is Caffe Nero. We’d visited them in England, so we knew this would be a welcome hug of porcelain as we wandered the downtown Boston area doing the pee pee dance.
As the facilities are for paying customers, I paid the required toll of 2 – 3 bucks for a cup of Joe. Soon after, the wife completed her duties, and I then took my turn at the helm of the good ship lollypee.
the wifi is good, the ambiance nice, and the staff friendly.

I miss Boston because of this place. Harry Potter-​ish décor. Very busy and popular seems to be a local and almost tourist attraction. I liked studying there and the pastries and coffee are of quality. Can’t go wrong.

Cute, cozy, love the exposed brick and bookshelves in the back. Alas, it’s always crowded (as if we needed another great café for college students to overrun… seriously, one person in a booth by herself?) But yes, it’s a nice spot for a first date or chill place to do some work. If you can get a seat.

The bad news is that there aren’t many (if any) plugs and there’s a 3 hour limit on the wifi.
The good news is that the quality of the stuff, and the level of charm in the place, is enough for me to still give it an elusive five star review. It has the most charming interior of any coffeeshop that I’ve been to. And their latte was very good – I’d still rate Render better but this was very enjoyable.

Really love this location. I’ve been to their stores in London, which are good, but this one is great. Really nice design, pleasant and efficient service, killer cold brew iced coffee and delicious ham-​and-​cheese breakfast croissants. A great addition to a vastly improved neighborhood!

A victim of their own popularity, I’ve docked them 1 star because it’s nearly impossible to find a seat when visiting Caffe Nero. Their drinks are second to none, and their food is pretty good for a coffee shop. They could use more power outlets near their seating, especially since they seem to encourage remote workers by providing free wifi.

Every time I come it’s extremely crowded. Most people stay and do work so seating is limited and during weekends it’s impossible to find seating. I would recommend coming during a weekday instead. They have really good pastries. I personally really love the limoncello cake — not too sweet, moist and tangy!

We had passed by this place probably like 10 times before we actually went in and tried this place. It’s such a beautiful coffee place, the interior makes you want to sit there for hours. Their coffee is quite delicious. I also tried their apple scone which was the best apple scone I have ever had! Check this place out of you are in town!

The Pros: the location and cute idea and décor. I grew up in area so it’s been interesting to see the change in the area in general. It is definitely in a prime location, bordering Chinatown and Downtown Crossing. Parking will not be easy to find some days so you’re better off taking public transportation here or walking over.
The café is very cute with their décor. It’s a little rustic maybe and a little something else — can’t find a word just yet. They also have tables outside when it gets warm out. It looks like a large spot and a good place to sit down and chill (big and small tables, chairs and couches), but it gets pretty packed — especially when students take over. So while it’s a great place to hang out and grab a coffee and pastry, good luck finding a seat.
They have a variety of Café drinks and food — nothing too special but I also am not a big coffee drinker so you should test that out yourself. I have had some of their food items and they’re good — what I expect but nothing amazingly different. Prices are okay — probably around the same prices as a Starbucks. It’s a good spot to grab a quick bite to go if you’re hungry. If you can grab a spot, enjoy it!

This coffee shop is as good as it gets! Great service, ambiance, prices and food! Got a small coffee from Caffe Nero on Saturday morning for $ 1.80! Better yet, their coffee is actually GOOD and they will give it to you in a mug or to takeaway. Better yet, this place has incredible ambiance. It is cozy on the inside with plenty of outdoor seating for the warmer months. All in all, 5 stars! Wished I lived closer and I would do work here every day!

I’ve passed this coffee shop countless times but have only recently stopped in.
First impression is that it’s a cute and very warm coffee shop. The staff were helpful and patient even on a busy weekday morning. The barista made sure the coffee I was ordering was exactly what I was hoping for. I ordered a regular hazelnut latte with almond milk. The coffee was very tasty with no aftertaste that I’ve experienced with hazelnut lattes from other coffee shops.
They also have pastries that look yummy.
I will visit again soon.

Love/​hate relationship with this place.
Pros: good espresso, friendly staff. Nice décor. Love the classical music. Prices are less than other similar coffee shops in the area. They have a punch card «loyalty» program that nets you a free drink after so many purchases. Nice selection of pastries/​treats.
Cons: EXTREMELY inconsistent in terms of quality. Sometimes you will get the best latte you’ve ever had, sometimes it’s mediocre. It really depends on who is working that day. They really need to better train their staff so that quality is more predictable.
Another issue is their ordering/​cashiering system. The person who takes your order is the person who makes it, and rings you up. This can create a long wait to pay if you order something more complicated than something like a basic coffee, especially if your server is making drinks for others as well. They really need to change this somehow. Maybe have one dedicated person working the register so you can pay and step to the side to wait for your coffee?

The team behind the counter worked it. the gentleman who made our latte’s was good… the latte’s were great and he let me, and trusted me enough. to sit and enjoy my coffee and get someone else a tea as they came in the line behind me. I thought it was nice he trusted me to let me sit and enjoy and THEN come back up and pay. I’ll be back.

My roommates and I stop by here all the time, since we live across the street. I’ve had a smoothie and hot chocolate from them, and both were delicious. Their sandwiches are awesome – the turkey club sandwich and prosciutto sandwich are my favorites, and that’s coming from someone who doesn’t really like turkey. Two of my roommates LOVE the caprese sandwich and order it every time. I’ve also had the toasted almond cake, which was delicious – light and fluffy with just the right amount of cream.
I’ve eaten there once. Décor is super cute, but it’s usually super crowded and can get a bit noisy, so I normally get my things to go.
The one downside is service can get slow, depending on what you get, but it’s worth the wait.

The vanilla latte was pretty delicious, the foam was perfect. I have a sweet tooth, but I was pleased to find out that the latte already had some sweet in it. I didn’t need to add a bag of sweetener, I would probably do it again with only a half a bag of sweetener. I grabbed a slice of apple coffee cake. It looked tasty, but when it came down to taste I got a faint taste of apple but no coffee. (A bit of a bummer there) Nevertheless, I can’t wait to go back again to try to White Chocolate Mocha Hot Tea. I believe the total was less than $ 7.
I really loved the coziness of this place. However, beware of the limited seating arrangement. I went with my friend and we had to move a chair from one end of the dining room to another. Tip: don’t be shy and ask to move around some empty seats. Many people there are alone with a laptop, but there are also a couple of people who go with company.

I’m a little torn about about this venue. It has very nice décor and lots of seating and it really is a great place to study or create a presentation. The wi-​fi is free and fast.
Being a eurpean chain, I am actually not surprised to find many europeans stopping in at this location. Funny thing is, the locations I have been to in London and Paris, were really not this big and elaborate.
I frequent this caffee because it has lots of seating and a good spot to work done. I’m usually there on a sunday and It’s always packed. If you find a seat consider yourself lucky. Multiple seats at one time is like finding the pot of gold on the other side of the rainbow. If I have no other option but a booth I am always happy to share it because I know how difficult it is to find a spot.
The sandwiches and salad’s are just ok. Nothing really especially special about it.
Overall, a great location as a café, but with a Major Theater across the street and plenty of students, it is really hard to find seating, especially if you need to use a laptop.

Love the atmosphere here. It’s quite spacious, and there’s a variety of types of seating. The hot chocolate is really rich and tasty. There’s free wifi and some outlets.

Received my daily dose of caffeine at Caffè Nero. Located near equinox, this coffee shop is my motivation to go to the gym, and also the fact that I can no longer take any side pose pictures with these arms…#coffeebeantown

Ordered the three layered chocolate cake with a medium size americano around 1pm. Based on the Unilocal reviews, i had high expectation on this particular chocolate cake. However, it was extremely dry and too sugar sweet, not chocolate cacao sweet. Huge disappointment. I went to the counter if it was left over or out dated piece from yesterday based on its dryness, but they responded they have no clue because they buy frozen cakes and thaw them. Now I have no reason to come all the way down here to try out all the baked goods here as I planned before I had a bite of this chocolate cake.

My standard line is that I don’t pay for décor. There are always exceptions to any rule; most of mine are venues encountered abroad. The Dushanbe Tea house in Boulder is a rare domestic example. While not an «official exception», Caffé Nero has a delightful interior which makes it an almost.
Honestly, my soy latte was average. It was a national holiday and my drink could have been the outlier. The warm staff and delightful environment make me amenable to granting this venue a second chance.
The problem is that it’s so darn difficult to find a seat or table. I tried and failed to visit Caffé Nero countless times before my initial visit. Although bigger than the Thinking Cup space, it still seems to be filled to capacity all of the time.

This place has amazing coffees, teas, etc. and cakes, cookies, pastries, breads, salads, sandwiches… Honestly all looks amazing. Staff is a bit hit or miss… Sometimes they don’t seem to know who is doing what but the line moves pretty fast… Everything is fresh.
Place has a great vibe but isn’t huge so if it is busy, and it usually is… It is hit or miss if you can sit comfortably or at all. By no means is this place a cheap cup of coffee, the prices are higher end … But worth it if you are looking for quality product.
Love the location, in theater district by opera house… Great street to walk on and people watch and this is a great place for a quick bite or snack or beverage prior to or after a show …

The gingerbread latte was super tasty and adorable. The barista who designed the gingerbread man was very proud of herself. My friend and I were impressed.

For the first time EVER I gave a Latte a chance. I’m not sure if it’s the fact that it was a Vanilla latte, or the barista, but I’m officially hooked! This might just become my winter drink and if it isn’t as good in other coffee shops I will ensure to hit this place at least once a week.
Ok, on to the coffee spot itself: it’s incredibly nice decorated. Very vintage looking. There’s plenty of seating and tables available but they always seem to be taken, the place is very popular. Highly recommend this Italian coffee shop. They have pastries, smoothies and fresh juices, salads, sandwiches, sweets and everything else imaginable. Definitely come by.

This coffee shop is very pleasant with great atmosphere. Be sure to get there early if you’re planning on sitting because it get crowded with professionals and college students.

The space is gorgeous. The staff is nice. The coffee is some of the best around. I’m a big fan of the brand in general.
So why 3 stars? Damn if it’s not slow as all get out every time. If I’m not in a rush this is my spot. But I’ve been here 15 or so times in the past 6 weeks and it just seems like the process is way longer than needed every time. Busy morning? Understandable. Slow afternoon stop? Just one girl working the counter and it takes 5 – 10 minutes for a straight up brew when there’s 2 people in front of me.
Again I dig this place but the speed of service just kills me sometime. Staring at my phone in line killing time all day. Also their pastry selection is meh and their sandwiches overpriced vs another spot close by that rhymes with Blinking Pup.

This was almost the perfect place to cozy up for a couple of hours to work on a cold day. I say almost because it seems as though a large portion of young Bostonians had the same idea. It’s a really cool and spacious place with high ceilings and quirky vintage-​y décor. But with so many people vying for spots on the couch or hoping for the jackpot of getting a table top, it was a bit stressful. I ended up settling for just a chair in the corner using my laptop in its originally intended position — balanced on my lap.
It wasn’t the most comfortable and I only had til my battery died, but I appreciated the steady free wifi and the welcoming vibe. I also very much enjoyed my hot tea and found the service to be especially friendly — always a plus. They also had a decently clean bathroom, a nice surprise considering the endless foot traffic in this spot!

I ordered a small white chocolate mocha but I think the barista ended up making me a hot chocolate. I’m not terribly upset because the hot chocolate is very good and really rich, but I did need the caffeine.
The interior is gorgeous. The first time I came here was on a weekday after 5pm, so it was packed! People chatting with their friends or with their laptops. Good vibes.
The blueberry muffin is wonderful. Great selection of other pastries. They serves sandwiches, salads, and soups as well.

Hands down favorite coffee shop in Boston. The interior is beautiful, reminds me of a library from a fairy tale. (Make sure you prepare your camera for the Insta!) The seating options are very cozy. Wifi is fast and reliable for 3 hours. Space is filled pretty quickly, but turnover is fast, so if you can snatch a seat, this is an amazing study space.
True to its European roots, the coffee here is STRONG and makes Starbucks look like a joke. Don’t bother getting the teas though as they’re just tea bags that you can buy at the grocery store. The croissants are super buttery, and the Caprese sandwich is very fresh. Whether you’re looking for an afternoon snack or a full on lunch, this shop is definitely worth a visit.

This coffee shop offers a warm, library-​like environment with a fireplace and cozy chairs, perfect for meeting up with a friend or even alone time (studying here is difficult given the limited seating availability). They roast their own beans, which probably makes the lattes and cold brews I’ve had here better than most I’ve had in Boston.
Sandwiches and baked goods are offered as well. Restrooms are clean, and the wi-​fi works well. No complaints other than having to battle the crowds on the weekend for a spot at one of the few tables inside. If the weather is nice, I’d recommend the patio seating outside.

been here a few times. It’s located right in between downtown and Chinatown area. I love the ambiance here– spacious, lighting, seating, and the décor!
Perfect spot to catch up with an old friend, order a hot drink (I recommend their vanilla chai with soy) or bring your labtop and study! (free wifi)
They have a variety of drinks, sweets, and sandwiches so there’s a lot you can choose from. The only thing I wish they would start doing is latte art.
I can’t say much for the coffee drinks because I’m not a huge coffee drinker but what I can is that this is such a cute causal place to hang out and relax!

Great coffee. And wow the ham and cheese croissant I had there was cheesy goodness. Place looks really nice inside, looks like a great coffee shop to grab a coffee with a friend or do some studying. I sat down early in the morning for a brief second to eat and it was quiet and staff were very helpful.
They have outdoor seating for the summer. Inside is a little dark for my liking. Location is sweet!

So comfortable, it hurts (seat availability).
And thus continues the crux of beautiful, open, social coffee lounges. Fast, free wifi, and an abundant array of reasonably priced espresso drinks, teas ($ 2.20/bag), frappes, smoothies (with sandwiches, salads, and scrumptious looking baked goods to substantiate your three squares) means never needing to leave the Circean confines of the circus-​sized, pillowy soft dining area.
It’s too well designed. Too welcoming. An army of Emerson kids, Euro-​tourists and domestic travelers are in constant battle over prime real estate, leaving little room for the casual sipper in need of a 30 minute workspace.
But when it opens up, hoodoggy! You’ll quickly understand why nobody budges, even as their peers magically transform to swine.

Just stumbled upon this place while waiting for a friend and had to go try it out.
It is so cute and hipster on the inside. The fireplace, the bookcases, the seats oh my.
I got a Latte and it was pretty good (not a coffee person so I’m not too picky though)
The Wild Berry Cake was to die for. So good. White chocolate layered between vanilla cake and berries littered throughout. I thought there was a bit too much cream but that’s just personal preference :).

O melhor canoli do centro de Boston. Com wi-​fi free. Excelentes sanduiche e café de primeira. O local está sempre lotado. Então a dica é primeiro procure um lugar para sentar e depois fazer seu pedido no balcão.
