History

Established in 2001.

Since our inception in the Greater Boston area, and our expansion to New York City, Birthing Gently has been committed to supporting families through their labor and birth, and assisting them as they transition into early parenthood. The services we offer are provided by trained, experienced, professional doulas.

Our belief is every family should have a satisfying birth experience. Whether planning a home birth, water birth, hospital birth, or scheduled cesarean section, Birthing Gently will provide judgment-free, evidence-based, educational, physical, and emotional support that you deserve! Birthing Gently is recognized for its specialization and support of high risk patients.

Our postpartum doulas provide support and education regarding newborn care, breastfeeding, self-care, coping skills and household management; making for an easier transition from hospital to home. Lactation support services are also available to suit your breastfeeding needs.

Meet the Business Owner

Tara L.

Business Owner

My name is Tara Campbell. I am a certified Birth Doula (DONA), Birth Doula Trainer (DONA), and Lamaze Childbirth Educator. I have established Birthing Gently in 2001.

I began my journey working in Labor and Delivery at a Boston hospital. I acquired great knowledge after having the opportunity to work in other related departments such as antepartum, the newborn nursery, OR, post op, pediatrics, emergency department and postpartum.

Currently, my main interest as a birth doula lies in working with maternal and/or fetal high-risk clients. I am only available to attend scheduled caesarean births. The majority of my time is spent coordinating birth doula, postpartum doula and lactation services for our discerning clients; matching our professional staff to meet the needs of our clientele. I also train new doulas and childbirth educators through DONA International workshops and Lamaze International Training Seminars.
