I would not come here again. On the plus side, they were friendly! While I was getting my a nail repaired, I overheard another woman politely complaining to management about how«horrible» her manicure was and she was asking it to be redone. Yikes! They also removed my gel polish with the electric file(not a good sign). I had to ask them to soak it in acetone so they wouldn’t ruin my natural nail. Their acrylic skills are less than ideal — very uneven c-curve, lumpy and thick. And the salon is not particularly clean. Not the worst place in the world, but I wouldn’t return.

I got the worst gel manicure I’ve ever received here. I was initially told it was $ 30, which was fine because I was in a rush and this was closer than the other Beacon Hill places that charge $ 25. The manicurist had trouble finding the color I chose, so picked one out of the OPI collection that was similar. When it was time to pay, it turns out they charge $ 35 for OPI Polish. Fine, I get it, OPI is a nicer brand. But if the stylist picks that color because she can’t find the one I requested, THENATLEASTLETMEKNOW I’LLBECHARGEDMORE. You could do right by your customers by at least providing more price transparency. Anyways, the main reason I’m never returning to Beantown Nail Spa is because the gels are already starting to chip within the first 24 hours. Absolutely unacceptable. I’ve had many gels before that have lasted 2+ weeks without chipping. This is inexcusable. I will take my business elsewhere and never return to this nail salon. On a less significant note, the three other salon workers who were there while I was getting my manicure done literally sat in the pedicure chairs for the entire time listening to music and watching videos on their phones. There were nail polish bottles everywhere and, heck, if someone lifted a finger in this salon to put the nail polish bottles back where they belonged, maybe I would have gotten the polish I asked for and wouldn’t be writing this horrible review right now.

Great manicure! My technician was so thorough and gentle! Plus they have an esthetician on site for eyebrows. Reasonable prices too. Very happy about my experience.

This is the only nail salon I frequent. The ladies are always very nice and always make sure to paint the entire nail. I appreciate their color recommendations. Also, they don’t over-trim my cuticles. It’s very convenient that they supply gloves to protect my skin when I get a gel manicure. I have nothing bad to say about Beantown. Van is particularly talented.

One of the better nail salons in the area. My gel manicure has last almost full 2 weeks(usually i get 10 days tops) and the people were very sweet and diligent. Have been to quite a few nail salons around Beacon Hill and been disappointed this one I will actually come back to. Only deducted a star because I thought was a little pricey($ 30 for gel manicure +$ 5 if you want OPI gel).

First time today and I am BEYOND happy. My French gel mani with design and pink toed pedi with design both done by Julie are SUPERB. Very hard working, detailed worker. Place is appealing and clean. Chi is so nice and friendly. Fun environment and great way to unwind in the afternoon/evening after work. Overall A+ I am making this my new place in the city!!!

Worst pedicure ever! From start to finish. MAYBE, 15 minutes! She barely scrubbed my heals and no massage and no lotion! I actually asked her, do you have any lotion, she handed me the bottle!!! As I started to rub it in she just stood there looking at me. So mad and I will never go back there.

I received a gift certificate to this nail place for my birthday. So I was super excited to have a girl’s day and get a nice pedicure and manicure. Unfortunately there was nothing pleasant about this visit. I will not go back. The head girl was trying very hard to be pleasant, but overall our service was terrible. They use OPI products which I am a big fan of, but after my mani/pedi here, my polish as chipped the next day. I am not sure how I received such a terrible mani/pedi, because the girl who was working on me too forever to finish it. The salon itself is small and not very well kept.

Don’t get my wrong, I love me some cheap Asian nail salons but this one is pretty terrible. I went there with my sister and we both did the Mani/Pedi combo for $ 35. Both of our nails had completely chipped off before the night had even ended. Not sure if they put something in their polish to try to make it last longer? I am certain that I’ve never had such a horrible paint job before. Seems from other reviews that this is pretty consistent. The shop was dirty, the drying station only half worked, and did I mention my «technician» stabbed the bottom of my foot with the scissors cutting a hole in my skin? Nasty.

I went there as a referral from a co-worker. I hadn’t been able to make it to my usual spa in weeks. So I tried it. Chi was very nice, acknowledged me right away. I went to get my ebrows waxed. She was very careful to make sure the wax wasn’t too hot and very maticulous and precise. Good experience. Not a great job but good. I paid about 5 bucks more than my regual spot(who also does a better job) but I guess I paid for convenience and location. LOL. Nice place but I’ll only use them in a pinch.

Love beantown nails! I usually get their $ 35 mani/pedi which is great but the mani usually chips fairly quickly. However, I went in last night and tried their opi gel manicure which is guaranteed not to chip for 2 weeks! The gel mani is more expensive($ 30) but imo worth it because I tend to go every week for a normal mani and spend $ 15. The gel mani is beautiful and shiny and dries super quickly! LOVE! I even went home and made cookies(which usually leads to chipping) and they were still perfect! The girls are always friendly and the pedi massage chairs are great! Also love Chi for brazillian waxing! She is quick and thorough and al

I am sold on the $ 35 mani/pedi. They usually last about 5 – 7 days depending on who does it. Not the best in the world, but you can’t beat the price. The location is small, but they always have enough employees to keep cycling thru all the walk-ins. The girls are all friendly and smiling. Again, not the best in Boston, but it’s well priced and they do a good job. So long as I live around the corner, this will be where I get my nails done.

I came in for a $ 35 mani/pedi and have to say I was not impressed. My foot bath water was cold the entire time, I left with cuts, and my mani started chipping hours later. I will say that the girls are all very nice and they carry Essie polishes, which I was happy to see. I’ll be trying a new place next time.

I got a $ 35 mani/pedi here before leaving for a trip because it’s really close to work. Overall, I would say that the place looks clean, the chair massage during my spa pedicure was relaxing, & I was pleased with how long my nails lasted – (My french-tip manicure(extra $ 5) lasted for 8 days without any noticeable chipping, and my pedicure is still looking good almost 2 weeks after.) The reason that I had to deduct one star was because the girl who did my nails cut my cuticle too much(despite my warning that she shouldn’t cut so closely) & it started to bleed a bit(!!) She was one of the younger-looking girls with a short, bobbed haircut & glasses, and her English was VERY good; however, she seemed to be in a rush the entire time she was doing my nails, which led to the cut. And when I retracted my hand because it stung from her mistake, she commented that«My fingers are too sensitive.» Well, I guess bleeding means that you’re too sensitive to her.-_– Overall though, I would still recommend this nail salon due to their long-lasting polish, but try to avoid that young girl if you can.

This is a hard review to write because these ladies that work there are soooo very sweet. HOWEVER, if you are going there to get a wax of any sort, DONOT go there. Twice I’ve been, twice I’ve had a really bad experience. The last time, just a few days ago, the lady(who is a doll and I wish I didn’t have to write this) totally burned the F out of my upper lip. It was seriously burned for three days(my whole mini-vacation) and even scabbed over it was so burnt. The first time she waxed my lip it wasn’t terrible, but it still managed to rip off part of my lip and gave me a ton of white bumps from pulling smaller hairs out improperly. The nail side of the salon is fabulous and I would go there again if it wasn’t for the horrific burn the last time.

I have to agree with Alison L. — Chi is absolutely a miracle worker for liquid gel nails — I’d been looking for someone for months(my regular guy moved back to Vietnam) and am so thrilled to have found her. I got a pedicure too — they’re just great all around. Very highly recommend!

Aug 2009: I have continued to go to Chi for my gel nails all year, and am still thrilled with the quality of the manicure and the wonderful service. This is by far the best gel nail experience I’ve ever had! Sept 2008: Chi at Beantown Nails is a miracle worker! After moving(and trashing my nails), she completely resurrected my liquid gel manicure. She even buffed away my old powder gel layers so the liquid would bond correctly with the base. They look incredible — you’d never know I had just spent 10 days opening boxes. It was clean and Chi is also a lovely person. I couldn’t be more happy with the experience!

After reading all the raves about waxing here, i decided to try the oh so awesome Brazilian. i have been gettting them for a while now, so i know what to expect. The experience was rather neutral, i didnt hate it nor did i love it. it was enjoyable because the aesthetician talks to you and always makes sure you are doing ok and she would stop if you needed a break. that i liked but also i like someone who just gets it done quick. after it was all done tho, she looked over it once more to sees if she missed any strays and she plucked those out. i love a clean thorough job! the weird thing was the wax she used. it was almost like a deodorant stick but wax. it was odd but it got the job done. the wax wasnt burning hot either like some places. some of the reviews say how easy it was to communicate with the aesthetician about what you wanted. i def agree! i wanted a little landing strip and she asked me how much i wanted left, that way i am getting what i want. overall, it was a pleasant experience. i would come here again and also i want to try the mani/pedis.

Thank god for Beantown nails! I had a horrible manicure around the corner,(complete with open cuts) and came into the salon almost in tears. The girls were extremely nice, and did a great job. My nails looks really great, and very natural(they are gels). I just moved to Boston, and have tried a few places, but after this, I wont go anywhere else.
