On our way to Hendricks lighthouse we stopped at Phil & Mike’s to try out the lobster roll and we were so glad we did. I had the seafood chowder which as excellent and we both had lobster rolls. All lobster with a little mayo on a slightly toasted bun!!! Perfect!!!

I stayed at a hotel just down the street. After running a half marathon I wanted a little local flavor. My wife had never had a lobster roll before, so this was a good stop. I was a little surprised at first because it looked like someone’s house and felt like we were walking into their kitchen. Once we discovered we were in the right spot we ordered 2 lobster rolls and a whoopie pie. Both were excellent!

$ 9.95 for lobster roll and small bag of chips. Brilliant. The place is packed on this lovely Exodus day(Labor Day). We arrived just before the masses, which I I’ve. Walking up, some lady unannounced exclaimed that her haddock sandwich was great. Ahhh, shaddup, I came for lobstah. Very good lobster salad roll. A bit a mayo and no filling. I would definite come again.

Stopped by a couple of years ago and still love seeing the sign as we come into Boothbay for our annual vacation. Their lobster rolls are more lobster salad, so don’t compare them to other places — they are really good in their own right. Haven’t tried anything else, but the smells coming from the small kitchen are always good and a quick place to stop on your way out of town.

You MUST stop here, delicious lobster roll for $ 10! It’s chopped not chunky pieces but oh so fresh. It’s BYOB too so bring a couple of cold beers pull up a picnic table and enjoy ! The owner runs the whole show himself and was very nice to chat with. Beautiful clean work area too!

Atmosphere: clean Service: friendly Lobster Roll: bits and pieces with a heavy mayo. Bun was weakly toasted. Unsure I could recommend with so many places around that give full pieces and have amazing scenery. Skip the temptation to try them all.

Best lobster roll of my life! No joking around here! Seafood salad and the haddock sandwich were great too! Cute little shack off the highway; very Maine!

Wicked good lobster and fresh blueberry pie… this is the spirit of summertime in Maine. Phil and Mike’s is a great stop along the road to Boothbay.

We decided to stop along the road to grab a quick lunch. The lobster rolls were advertised for $ 9.95. Actually it was more of a mayo/chopped lobster meT versus the lump lobster. It was a great value for the money which included a bag of chips.

I’ve been coming here for more than 10 years and they never disappoint. It’s Phil and Mike’s now that Phil is older but it’s the same great food. We get the seafood salad rolls(they used to be called Poor Boy Lobster rolls) and they are the BEST. You can get 3 for $ 9.50 or they’re $ 3.50 each.

Great friendly service, $ 10 lobster rolls that are amazing. Homemade desserts were great too! I would recommend the whoopie pies. Cheers.

Got«lobster» and«seafood» rolls that spoiled our trip to boothbay. they were so bad we couldn’t finish them. Tasted like more«Krab» than lobster or crab. Tastes like what you could get at a Wal-mart deli

UnilocalER Beware!!! Saw the sign advertising 9.95 lobster roll, it was worse than we could have ever imagined. I should have known when we asked him how much lobster was in it, to which his only reply was«9 dollars worth of lobster.» This is the only place i found that wouldnt tell me how much lobster it has, a big TELL. The kitchen looked clean, so we gave it a try anyways. Now on to the damage… We got 2 lobster rolls and 2 seafood roll specials. The specials came with 2 seafood rolls and a cup of chowder, sounds good right? The lobster rolls are LOBSTERSALAD!!! The majority is mayo and it is a shredded mess, I don’t even know if it was lobster on it. The seafood rolls were suppose to have snow crab and lobster, it was a seafood salad fiasco. Tasted so fishy, pretty sure it had to be imitation«krab». My mom couldn’t even eat it. The chowder was ok. This is not in any way reason enough to come remotely close to this place. I think this is ny first bad review on Unilocal,I don’t like to trash restaurants but this warning needs to be said. This was a trainwreck lobster roll experience, sorry phil.

This place is great! Great baked goods, lobster rolls, crab rolls, and«lobster poor boys»(combo shrimp, crab, and lobster). The value is tough to beat — 9 lobster rolls for $ 22, 3 crab rolls for $ 9, and 3 «lobster poor boys» for $ 8! Good stuff! Enjoy!

I always look forward to seeing Phil. He’s a typical, somewhat surly Maine-er who has very few words for you. I guess he figures all the signs outside speak for themselves? You can eat for pretty cheap here, unless you go fancy and eat a lot. 3 poor boy lobster rolls(have lobster, shrimp, and crab, I think) for $ 9, or 1 lobster roll(100% lobster) for $ 4. A cup of pretty amazing chowdah for $ 3. The rolls themselves are FRESH. Phil bakes them right there in his little kitchen. He coats the outside with something that resembles butter and puts them in a sandwich press with whatever filling you get, and they come out warm, but JUST crispy on the outside a little. His whoopie pies are to die for. I tried the blueberry pie once, which was fine, but the crust was soft instead of flaky or crispy — may have been related to the fact that it was in a plastic container, and the moisture from the blueberries did a number on the crust. Four stars for Phil! One for using Maine seafood all over the place. One for that crispy, buttery crust on the lobster rolls. One for his amazing chowder(and bisque). One for the whoopie pies. But minus one… for the fact that he microwaved(!!) the American(!!!) cheese and haddock on my haddock sandwich.(There’s no excuse for American cheese in the first place. Or microwaves.)
