I don’t like knocking local restaurants, but Wolfie’s presented me with one of the worst grilled cheeses of my life. It’s a «double stack» which I thought meant just double the cheese and that’s why I was able to choose two different cheeses. But no, it’s two grilled cheese sandwiches stacked on top of each other. Okay, fine. That would’ve been okay(I guess)…if the sandwiches were cooked properly. But the bread was barely toasted, and the cheese was only semi-melted. It was truly one of the most unappealing things I’ve ever seen. I couldn’t even bring myself to take a picture of it but trust me. Like, just the edges of the cheese were melted. It didn’t even stick to the bread. They kindly took it back to grill it some more. And it came out almost the exact same. I didn’t want to be a pest at that point so it ended up getting chucked which breaks my heart — I hate food waste. I really wanted to go back and show them how a grilled cheese sandwich is made — it’s really one of the simplest sandwiches and the first thing most of us learn to cook(here’s a basic recipe for those of you that don’t know: ), so it’s shocking that this place had such a bad one. Cute shop otherwise and my husband liked his club enough. Plan on taking it to the bench outside or a nearby park.

Amazing owner, a very genuine and nice person. The only thing better than the attitude is the food. The name escapes me at the moment but the #22 pulled pork sandwich is one of the best I’ve had.

My sister and I shared a Mountaineer club. The wait was a little long around 12 or 15 mins with a group of three in front of us, but the sandwich was really good.

This is hands down the tiniest restaurant I’ve ever seen. It operates out of a sliver of a building on King Street and has a catchy name and logo. It’s been six months since I’ve been here but I remember the experience like It was yesterday. I had a roast beef and swiss sub and it was gigantic. It’s definitely a to-go only spot as there are no tables and parking just to go there seems too tedious. I decided to try Wolfie’s when I was leisurely strolling along King Street one day and needed some food. The lack of tables wasn’t an issue because we just walked into the indoor shopping area next door and found a table there. I can see how this could be annoying to some people though. It’s been around for a long time though, so the business must be pretty decent. I imagine it’d be packed on game day. The service was really great. The guy at the counter was really nice to us and informative about the sandwiches. It’s just a bit inconvenient if you don’t have a reason to be on King Street… but if you do happen to visit King Street for the sole purpose of eating at Wolfie’s, be sure to check out some of the cool little shops around… a few of my favorites are Dancing Moon and the giant antique store.

Well I gave Wolfies another chance. I ordered a cheeses steak sandwhich and a bottle of coke which cost me $ 9. And change. The sand which was TERRIBLE… the bread was stale, the cheese was half melted, the onions were crunchy… I ended up eating only about a quarter of it then had to throw it away. The pictures of the sandwiches on the walls sucked me in… but they simply make crappy food… so disappointing . I will not be back… they don’t deserve one star in my opinion.

Fantastic sub shop that specializes in boars Head brand of meats and cheeses in their subs. The sandwiches are good and have been consistent every time i’ve been there. It’s one of my favorite stops every time I visit Boone. It’s always packed when i’ve gone there and would love to see another shop. I recommend Wolfies to everyone in Boone and the surrounding areas. Great food for great prices.

Go to Jimmy Johns next door. I asked for a simple roast beef sandwich with extra mayo, and was handed a relatively small, awkwardly shaped sandwich with crappy bread with little to no mayo and soggy bread from the lettuce and tomato. The boars head roast beef was no one near as good as the rare roast beef you get at any other sandwich place, and in addition was a green shiny color and slimy. Avoid Wolfies, and dont get sucked in my the pretty pictures of their food outside, or their advertisement of boars head products.
