La Quinta Inn & Suites Islip MacArthur Airport

2 stars for being dog/​pet friendly and not smelling so, and an additional star for esthetics from the lobby to your actual room. Not poorly decorated or unclean, but the box springs exposed with no cover, sheet or covering of any kind, was a big turn off. it was the only part of the hotel that bothered me. Who would leave an exposed box spring in such an otherwise decent setting? No idea where this lapse came from. Stayed 5 days on business– won’t stay again because of this. With correction, I’d add a star. Managment should address this–

Definitely thought I reviewed this hotel already. I’m giving them 5 stars, not because I think the are a 5 star establishment (very no frills) but I received 5 star service and that’s what matters most to me. So, I believe I was bragging in a previous review that I figured out how to «win» at Hotwire’s hot deal hotel bidding — lol, I lied. I swore I was booking the Marriott and once my hotel was revealed, it was LaQuinta. At first I was super bummed because I had never stayed at a LaQuinta but knew this hotel was near another motel I had stayed at before (The Clarion) and immediately assumed the worst but I was pleasantly surprised. My fiancé and I checked in late since she drove up here (a 5.5 hour drive) after work so it was about 9−10pm or so, after we ate and whatnot. The young man at the desk was so polite and even offered us an upgraded room (a suite) which was fairly nice. The rooms and the hotel itself are a little older and outdated but it’s clean. We decided to extend my fiancé’s trip by another day and booked once again through Hotwire. The front desk was really accommodating because when you go through a third-​party they choose the room for you but since we had been given a suite we really didn’t want to have to change rooms and go to the double-​bed room but the woman at the front desk did us a solid and just allowed us to stay in the room we had already been in. They offer a free breakfast which is like juices, muffins, toast, waffles, cereal — pretty nice, I appreciate not having to spend any extra money. I would definitely stay here again, I had no complaints.

This place exceeded my expectations! Excellent room décor with giant wooden workstation and giant tv stand, lots of outlets for once, spa, fitness center (though not big– had weights, elliptical, treadmill, bike), free breakfast (muffins, yogurt, hard boiled peeled eggs, coffee, cereal, bagels), and friendly staff. 5 stars for the price!

Stayed for just one night. Check-​in was a breeze. Staff was friendly. The room was better than I expected. In fact, the hotel was nicer than I expected too. Breakfast was quick and easy. My only complaint was the bathroom sink drained very slowly. Other than that, a very positive experience!

I was treated like a first class bum. I was on my way to the VA center in northport. Ran short on cash. I ask the attended there if can have a room. For one night. Untill i get paid. He said its not in his power to do so. I said ok. He told me i can stay in the lobby untill the manger comes in. Lobby was nice i dident bother anybody. Manager never shows. Then some young male worker there told me to leave. Flat point leave or im calling the police. I explain my situation to him. He says he dosent care i want u gone or im calling the police. And im like what? I told him ok thats fine. Ok no problem. I showed him my id and everything. He says I dont care about you people i want u gone. So i insist he call me a cab i hop in the cab pay my last 45 and go to good Samaritan hospital. They let me stay ther untill i got paid at 830 in the morning. I understand how people are they dont want to get in trouble. But some of these kids need to know there place. Its not right to disrespect anybody. Older them acting in a respectful way. But in anycase ill share this with my veteran brothers and sisters. I kept the name s out of it so nobody gets fired.

Customer service is terrible. All the employees possess the I know it all attitude. My first two rooms were dirty. And the beds were uncomfortable. I didn’t even want to put my puppy’s bed on the floor. We were there for over a week. After 3 days of complaining the manager finally put us in the opposite wing of rooms. It was more tolerable after being moved but not by much. The carpet didn’t have as many stains and smelled cleaner than the opposite wing. The walls in the initial wing of rooms (near the computers) are PAPER THIN! By the 7^th day we checked out early and went elsewhere.
However, if you do end up staying here definitely check out Blue Point Brewery. Great beer, staff was awesome. Worth picking some beer up and heading back to the hotel.

Good value for $ 109 per night. No lid on the toilet seat — a little weird and unsanitary. But the hotel and rooms were very clean and modern and the staff was very accommodating.

My boyfriend and I went to the doctor who convention this past weekend in long island. The convention hotel was sold out but they had other hotel options and with a doctor who convention code we got a room here for a good price. The best part about it was, was that it was only 3 mins from the convention. This hotel was clean and the staff was very nice. We got a smoking room on the second floor but noticed that not all rooms on that floor were smoking. I think they should have seperated these rooms because you can smell smoke the second you walk off the elevator. Being a smoker myself it doesn’t bother me but non smokers it would. The room did smell like awful stale cigarette smoke. Was surprised that there was no air freshener in the room because of that. The reasons I’m giving this place 4 Stars is because the TV only had like 10 channels and the volume wouldn’t go no higher than 25. We had to watch TV with subtitles on. We had our xbox with us and thank god it was able to hook up to the TV. They had a microwave and a decent mini fridge. The bathrooms were nice and big. The beds were actually quite big and comfortable. We are going to the convention next year and will be staying here again for sure!

Booked a couple rooms for the weekend through expedia, first impression was a good one with the book now paylater option. Nice and spacious inn, nice, clean and spacious suite and bathroom. All the amenities, with great and friendly service, icing on the cake was the great continental breakfast included with your stay. I will definitely return and recommend to anyone in the area.

Booked here through Expedia/​AARP for about $ 100 a night. Got two/​2 double bed rooms for my parents, brother, and me as we were flying into MacArthur just for a day for a funeral in Patchogue and wanted somewhere close and easy, and La Quinta fit the bill.
Overall, it was clean, quiet (minus when people walking directly over my bed from room above), with friendly staff, and good amenities. Breakfast was nice in the morning, waffles, hardboiled eggs, other bread items, and fruit like apples/​oranges. Would have been nice to have option other than whole milk for cereal.
The room was not huge and was taken up by a lot of furniture. Large TV console/​cabinet, dresser, and desk did not leave a lot of room at foot of bed and desk chair was too big to fit under the desk, too. Limited basic cable TV channels on La Quinta’s own «system» and some playoff sports did not come in. Bed and pillows were comfortable and the heating system was set by the digital wall thermostat for easy control and comfort setting.
We got two consecutively numbered rooms, but they were not next to each other. This would have been nice since there was a shared door with the room directly next to us.
Also, no plugs on bedside stand to plug in phones. There was a couple plugs on the desk, but I think a lot of people probably keep their phone near the bed.
They have a 2-​desktop and printer business office with some available office supplies. I was able to use it to print off our boarding passes quickly and easily and had some paper clips to organize them for our flights back.
For a one night trip with short notice, it was clean, affordable, and worked well for us especially with the proximity to the airport.

stayed here on friday night with my BF and our dog, THEY ACCEPT DOGS!!! the room was clean and the place even smelt clean which is shocking since they allow dogs, so pleasantly surprise. The website didnt mention the huge indoor spa pool which was a nice surprise after a long car trip. also the gym was nice and clean. they let us check in a no extra charge even though our room wasnt ready, they just upgraded us, and late check out was no charge either. they do a little breakfast thing in the lobby which is nice. for the price this place was more than I hoped.

For under $ 100 you get a microwave refrigerator flat screen friendly service very clean rooms. Spa and fitness room clean free breakfast this is with my freecreditreport discount. It’s close to the hospital and airport. Restaurants close by are limited Applebees pizza burgers but be grateful for that every place can’t be next door to Per Se in Manhattan

I’ve stayed here before but this time the TV was broken and I wanted to watch. The guy at the front desk said it wouldn’t be fixed ‘until tomorrow’ although I left ‘tomorrow’. Friday night with one employee? Thankfully I had my computer and (they say secure) wi fi although it is actually NOT secure; you don’t need the password they give. They did give me a 20% break on the price when I asked at checkout but I’d rather they get it straight in the first place. I enjoyed the jacuzzi.

This hotel room is nice and clean. My complaint is that the walls are like tissue paper. I suppose it is not the hotel’s fault that people are inconsiderate when staying in a public place, but I am here to rest for the next day, not hear people talking and hitting walls and slamming doors all night. My tv didn’t work. The sound kept going out. Also the wifi Internet connection is not that good. And the air conditioner sounds like someone is putting a wire hanger into a spinning fan blade.

Visited this hotel location while visiting family in the area.
Based on my search of other hotels in the area this seemed to be the best option. On first appearance the hotel itself seemed to be pretty clean and check in was a breeze. But immediately getting off the elevator I noted the rooms had non smoking signs posted but the second floor where my room was located smelled of cigarette throughout my stay.
When I entered the room I noted immediately the smell of pets throughout. I was aware that the hotel was pet friendly but I never thought the rooms would smell. Once I realized that a pet must’ve urinated in the room in the past I refused to walk on the carpet without shoes at all times. However, the room amenities were pretty useful (microwave, free WiFi, refrigerator, etc.). I did note unusual stains on the carpet and curtains which I assumed might be also due to pets that stayed in the room in the past.
In the mornings a self serve continental breakfast is offered from 7am to 9am. The freshly made waffles and boiled eggs are the only hot food options offered. The waffles in my opinion were spongy and simply tasted OK.
Hopefully, in the future other hotel options are available in the area because I am in no hurry to return to this hotel.

I don’t know what I was expecting when I booked a room here last week but I know it wasn’t this. I thought that it was close to work and close to a Christmas party I was going to so I just went for it. Now I’m hooked on La Quinta. I hope that all of their Inns and Suites are this clean and updated. I even took a bath! That’s saying something!

Patti Gallagher, manager/​angel (went beyond the norm to help me on a non-​hotel related issue!) Room comfy and spacious. Clean! Weight room and laundry room a plus. Desk staff excellent. Quiet. Only problems, no lid on toilet seat (Manager said they are working on that) and breakfast will please most people but to me, as a vegan who likes healthy food, it wasn’t very appealing (sugar and fat in most items). I would stay here again and recommend this place.

New place nice people clean rooms but her is the thing it is a newer place but you can tell they used the cheapest things every where and I am afraid that in a few years it will start falling apart.

Hardly anything but industrial companies around the area but it’s close to the airport. If you want food, restaurants deliver around the area. It’s good as long as you don’t mind Chinese or Italian food. Cause those are your choices. Bön apetit!
