Really feel duped! I took my car there for an engine issue and they claimed all my tires were bad– I ended up replacing them after them saying they couldn’t let me leave without changing all my tires for almost $ 1,000 total. I was very suspicious of their claim that I needed all new tires and it was confirmed in the next few weeks– My boyfriend had a car issue and brought his car down to which they made him change all four tires or they claimed they couldn’t work on the car… again! The next month when I came back in for a different engine issue and they claimed I needed four new tires, I said change them, you just gave me four new ones with a warranty. They suddenly changed their tune and it wasn’t a tire issue & wouldn’t change the tires!

Incompetent. I arrived at 8 am. They kept me waiting for 3 hours to do one $ 40 oil change. After they did it, they quoted $ 500 and 4+ hours of additional work — changing fluids and replacing the oil pan gasket. Assuming for the moment that I need these (which I highly doubt), why not offer to change the oil pan gasket before changing the oil?

Had some trouble starting my car for a couple of days, so figured it was time to get a new battery. I had a busy day of things I needed to do, so figured I would stop by Sears Auto, drop off the car for new battery while I grabbed lunch in the Mall. Oh, while it was there in the shop, they could also do an oil change.
I park my car nearby (and reluctantly, turn it off, knowing full well that it might not start again). I enter the Auto area, where there is no clear line of who is being helped. There are 3 people behind the counter, 2 if which are on the phone and 1 helping another customer. No one greets me or anyone coming in after me. There were not that busy inside, so I am next one in «line». Just as one of the employees hangs up the phone, the phone rings again and he answers it (still without acknowledging me). He puts the person on hold and runs into the shop, then comes back to take detailed message, and hangs up. Only for the phone to ring again, which he answers, again without greeting me or anyone who has now entered behind me. After that call, yes, you guessed it, the phone rings again, which he again answers. Clearly, the phone takes priority over the people actually standing in front of him. I was tempted to call the number from my cell phone, while standing there so I could be helped. So after standing there for about 20 minutes, the other guy hung up the phone and waited on me. He said I didn’t need to wait in line, just get my car and pull it up to the garage entrance. Wow, that would have been really freaking helpful to know 20 minutes ago. I get back to my car and battle with it starting for about 5 minutes. Luckily it gets started and I drive over to the garage entrance. Now there are 5 cars in front of me, so the waiting begins…
Finally, I get into the garage and tell them my car has issues starting and I think the battery needs to be replaced. The service tech explains they check the battery for free and will change it only if needed. I ask if I could also get an oil change while it is in the shop. He agrees and writes up my order for 1. Battery check and change 2. Oil change. He warns me since I don’t have an appointment it could take up to 2 hours, but probably less. He gives me the form he filled out and tells me to bring it inside. Oh God, now back in line inside. This time it goes quickly, because they see I am holding a form, so they take me right away (probably how they make their commission). The same guy that «helped» me before, helps me again, and also warns of 2 hr possible wait.
I leave and have lunch and do a little shopping. After 3hrs I still have no call to say my car was completed, so I went back to Sears to see what was going on. It turns out they «completed» my service and put my car in the parking lot. Not only did they not call, but they forgot to check/​change my battery. What??? That is the whole reason I brought it in. So now they needed to get the car back into the shop to do what I asked in the first place.
$ 200+ and 4.5hrs later I have a new battery and fresh oil. I wish I just changed the battery myself and brought car to quick lube place for oil change. Probably would have saved me 3hrs.
I was planning to bring my other car in for an alignment, but clearly this is not the place to come. The only time I will return here, is if I am totally stuck and it is a Sunday.
I am not surprised they have only 2 Stars.

Terrible service, I called in advanced for an oil change. Didn’t want to spend 30 minutes and get dirty changing my own oil. Even with an appointment I had to wait more than an hour for them to even start on my car. Not to mention they checked my new brake pads and said they are starting to get low and need to be changed and checked my tire alignment and wanted to charge me for realigning my tires. Wouldn’t recommend anybody coming here you’re going to wait a long time even with a appointment.

My wife went here for a simple oil change. They automatically gave her the premium $ 50 oil change which she did not ask for. They called her and told her that her battery was cracked and needed to be replaced for $ 150. We had a warranty on the battery so we declined and took it right over to Autozone where we has bought it. AZ looked at it and said it wasn’t even removed by SEARS. Autozone took it out and inspected it and there was nothing wrong. They tested it and it was 100% charged. Autozone even called Sears to talk to the technician. The technician couldn’t say what was wrong with the battery. Making up a fake repair is illegal. I called the manager to ask what was up, and like a coward he said the technician only said the battery was connection corroded which is a complete lie. This place is horribly managed. I wish she read the other reviews before going here. Please don’t make the same mistake she did avoid this place at all costs.

It is one thing to overcharge for a job, it is another thing to lie about it.
Went in for tire change, they told me the rear brake pads were about to go out, they estimated the job for $ 270 dollars for only the rear brake pads. It sounded farfetched.
I went to another auto service center and not only did they offer me a better deal (130 $) but they told me it wasn’t necessary since all my brake pads were above 70% wear.
Save your money and time, this place has no interest on whats best for you, their only interest is your wallet, and will screw you over without thinking twice.

I had to wait 2 hours and 30 minutes for a simple oil change, even though i had scheduled an appointment. Avoid thus place. Its a waste of your time!

I live in Boynton but due to the constant bad services provided by the Boynton Sears Auto I always drive all the way to Boca for my tire service needs and although they are always busy the customer service is great. They open on Sat/​Sun and immediately check the aligment upon they acquire your car. You can also wait for your car while walking at the mall.

I took my jeep there. They charged me $ 800 for coils, Injectors, Spark Plugs and other stuff that I feel were a waste of money. Even though I just replaced my spark plugs they said that I had to replace them along with the other things I listed. It was a waste of money. They ended up refunding me $ 418.00 after I drove off with my car still with the same problem a day later. I even had to pay for a car rental. When I came back and they refunded me. I got in my car and it was in even WORSE condition. It was shaking so bad and a rotten egg smell and now the Engine light blinks. SO I went in on monday and left Thursday with my car in WORSE shape. And they took $ 300 plus of my cash for what? Labor. DO NOT GO HERE! DO NOT! I’m going to call Sears corporate office to see if I can get the rest of my money back and I’m going to a mechanic tomorrow. To see what they did that was wrong.

Due to the location and the fact that they’re open on a Sunday I gave him a shot. Something as simple as aligning my wheels it seems like a foreign concept to these guys. Two appointments and they couldn’t do the job right. The comment made to my wife was that the car gets out of alignment when you go over speedbump’s was a little out of line. Unfortunately I will not be using them again. Good luck to those who try…/:

Consider the negative reviews… Bocanites are a tough crowd. Went in wheel alignment/​tire rotation. Easy, peasy. Service was quick despite the high volume of cars waiting to be cked in. Tony was very professional and efficient in handling my transaction.

Unable to fix a simple tire repair. Terrible service. Go somewhere else.

I went to Sears for new tires and an oil change. You are supposed to drive your car up to the garage and wait for a mechanic to write up the details of your car and then go inside — no signs indicating this! So after I waited 15 minutes inside along with a handful of others I was told to bring my car to the garage and come back. I did this and upon my return, the line grew larger so I waited an additional 25 – 30 minutes to get to the desk which only had 1 person at that time working. She kept checking her cell phone and chatting with a guy in there rather than getting the line moving.
After finally getting to the front desk, a younger man helped me. He was very kind and even gave me a Groupon coupon for the oil change, this is very appreciated. I was told to come back in an hour and a half.
I cam back 2 hours later (just in case) and was told they were just finishing up, it would be 10 more minutes … no problem, i thought. I sat in their waiting area for 35 minutes! When I saw my car being moved in the garage I got up and went back to the desk to get my keys which had been dropped off. The woman behind the desk told me I had to get in line even after I told her my keys were right there (visible to both her & I). Frustrated, I got BACK in line and waited another 15 minutes for her to simply hand me my keys.
In addition to this, the people woman behind the desk was rude to people on the phone and once putting them on hold talked bad about them to customers in the lobby. She also complained about co-​workers to other co-​workers. I found that to be VERY unprofessional, the kicker is, I later discovered she was a manager. Awful, just awful.
I will say, the gentlemen working on my car, specifically Carlos (only one’s name I remember) were very kind and did a great job with my car.
The customer service must be improved at this location. All of the Unilocal comments are awful!

I am very mixed and would pass on this Sears. I had them do an oil change and replace a Diehard that was still within warranty. No hassles with the warranty, but they left a wrench under my hood, and a loose oil drain bolt! I noticed drips on my Dad’s nice white cement driveway, and checked to find I was low past the dipstick level!
I still haven’t found a car service I really like here in Florida, but you are probably better off elsewhere.
And forget any recomendations you may receive from Boca Raton friends– they know nothing about cars or manual labor. Find someone with some dirt under their fingernails!

Service is very poor. Had a tire changed and they tried to sell me two tires because of uneven wear for to misalignment. They had done the alignment previously. They identified the wrong tire to change. I had to bring the car back three times to get them to correct the pressure sensor light.

Large Sears store with excellent car service center and hardware department.
I have used their car service on several occasions. I had an oil change and tire rotation and even alignment here and was pleased with the service.
I also had my battery replaced here and honestly, the Sears batteries are the best.
I also don’t know why there are several bad reviews but it appears time related and people wanted service immediately. I actually took my time as I had lunch at the mall and walked around for a few hours.
So, just chill out as this location is better than any Tire Kingdom.

Store is not well put together. Automotive department is not helpful. They don’t even make an effort. They bumble along on their computers. I was quoted three different prices for a tire. I have Road Hazard Plus, which is for the life of the tire. When I got a nail in it, they insisted it was only good for 5 years. Right on the terms of agreement it says for the life of the tire. My family has been customers of Sears for almost 40 years.

Main store is severely cluttered aisles are difficult to walk through. The automotive department doesn’t stock the most typical of products like tire plugs. They allow the cars to back up outside of service center blocking traffic.
