My cousin and I were invited to 80th bday party last sat night at Rosario’s.It had all been pre arranged that we would have 2 large round tables next to each other so we could celebrate this occasion together. when we arrived there was a loud party at the table next to ours and we we seated in two tables separated by the waiters walkway. we could barely see each other and could not talk to each other. this was totally different then what we were promised… the food was also a disappointment .very greasy. we barely ate any of it. It was expensive and not worth it at all. we will never go back and can say honestly… DONOTWASTEYOURTIMEANDMONEY!

We visit Florida every winter for 6⁄8 was. Rosario’s is as good as it gets. They have A 27.95 special every night for a great 5 course dinner. The wait staff is very professional as well as the owner. Saturday nights are very busy and quite noisy But during the week it’s a great place to dine. Try the Snapper Livernase and the Baked Clams are to die for. Not only is the price right but the food is delicious. SB Edgewater NJ

Went to make a reservation, and a female operator was very rude to us, thus, we cancelled the idea of even going to such a place.

If I could give them 100 stars I would. My family is Sicilian and my wife’s family is from Calabria and the food was like eating at home. The service was top notch, anytime we needed anything the waiter was there for us. The atmosphere was cozy, and the owners walk around and talk to you like they are family. The price was lower than expected for this caliber of a restaurant. If you want real authentic Italian cuisine this is the place to be. They made our 21st wedding anniversary something special.

Went to Roasrio’s yesterday with my mom and my sister. I’ll give you the Yay’s and the Nay’s. The Focaccia bread was Mushad and extremely oily(sopped with oil, the most I’ve seen). Maybe its a matter of preference but I like a bread thats either chewy or crispy with some consistency to it, theirs tasted like I was drinking Crisco oil. They have a reasonable Prix-Fixe served every evening for $ 26.95. This included an appetizer, an entrée, and dessert, not bad. I had an eggplant Rollatini appetizer that really was sensational and I highly recommend it. Iordered Shrimp Parmigiana which was delicious but came with three Jumbo Shrimp. One, do I dare say«two» more Shrimp really would have made my day. Nevertheless, the Shrimps were delicious and their sauce is divine. As a side I ordered Whole wheat spaghetti which was bland and sort of lifeless, not at all Al-dente as I would have preferered but I do admit I never specified this. We ordered a side of Burnt Broccoli which was very good. I thought this was a tad pricey at ten bucks considering most prices here were pretty reasonable but maybe I’m outta touch. I thought it was worth six or seven but then Hey, I’m in Boca. My mom and my sister split orders of Chicken Francese and Eggplant Parmigiana which they both enjoyed(I tried both as well and they were excellent especially the Eggplant Parmigiana), OK, on to the desserts. Sis and I split a slice of Italian Cheesecake and a slice of NY Cheesecake and mom had her favorite Chocolate IceCream. Both Cheesecakes were small slices(I guess thats pretty much the industry standard these days) but both left a lot to be desired. The desserts just didn’t make the mark. An earlier reviewer mentioned cramped seating. I didn’t notice that at all. The ambience was terrific, the tables nicely spaced(not at all cramped) and it was not noisy and mind you we arrived early 5:30PM on a Friday night but we left at 7:30PM which is certainly prime time dinner hour. Our waiter Giovanni was just as pleasant and accommodating as can be and really made the dinner enjoyable. I am informed(by my sister) that this place has been here for a very long time, used to be «La Viola» and that the owner had sold it and bought it back. I don’t know if he’d be open to suggestion but .at 7:30PM on a Friday night in Boca in November(I’m not here year-round so this is just my opinion) there shouldn’t be as many available tables as there were. Maybe advertise more, possibly offer a free glass of wine with dinner or a free pizza appetizer with every dinner for two or a buy one get one mid-week deal. The owner may balk at this but you don’t have to do it forever, its just to introduce folks and provide a greater incentive to patronize your restaurant. Work on a better«bread» and improving the desserts and you just may have to make a reservation to get in on the weekends and pack in a larger crowd during the week. Despite its shortcomings, I’d give Rosario’s another go. His food was very good. I’d have given him a fourth star if it weren’t for some of the nays. They should charge admission for the show you get watching the Parking lot attendants. The space is just too small for a valet operation. and both entrances have dual access that serve as both entrances and exits. the space is just too small and at a busy hour cars are strewn all over the place facing all directions which can cause a temporary logjam but this too can be overlooked. Oh well, I’ve said enough. Rosario’s is worth a try.

I took my mother out last night for Mother’s Day after debating which of three local Italian restaurants we should visit. Here’s my rundown for Rosario’s: Atmosphere: The atmosphere has a more resort club/hotel feel than a romantic restaurant. White linens couldn’t make up for the lack of candle light, the noise level(loud), or the lack of private spaces or booths. Further, the tables are simply too close together. Definitely a thumbs down in that department. Food: I ordered a Red Snapper Livornese, a tomato sauce with black olives and capers, and it was delicious. My mother ordered the Chicken and Sausage Arrabiata which proved to be a very tasty dish. However, we were disappointed to see the chicken served on the bone, which made for less than genteel eating. More disappointing was the chicken itself which consisted of inexpensive pieces like the wing and leg. Offered one of two sides, we each chose one – a penne pasta with fresh and fantastic marinara, and rather bland, under seasoned vegetables. We ordered a second side of «burnt broccoli» that was fab. All in all, the food was very good but not 5 star. Service: The service was underwhelming on a relatively quiet evening. Their claim to fame is their garlic bread which was featured on Food Network. I’m not sure why, since my mother’s garlic bread is significantly better. In any case, we were not served the famous bread until we finally asked for it. The waiter who took our order didn’t reappear until the dessert/coffee order, then again when he came to deliver our check, and then a third and yet a fourth time to claim his tip. He hovered around our table seemingly frustrated that we were not vacating when all he wanted was the tip. His tip reflected his poor service, and my point was further made when he pounced on the check as my mother stood up from the table while I was still seated. Appallingly, he walked a few feet, opened the check, saw his 15%, and then stood there looking at it and half turning back to us. I swore he was going to head right back over and demand more. So to recap, decent but not great atmosphere, great but not outstanding food, and poor service add up to three stars. Too bad, because if the waiter had been as caring and courteous as the owner and his son, this place might have earned four.

This was my first visit and while we dined with a couple who had been there before, we were not as impressed as they were from their prior visit. It was a Friday night around 7PM, and while they were busy, not every table was occupied. We were promptly seated without a reservation. And then our disappointments commenced. It took 15 minutes for our waiter to take our order. We then waited 25 minutes before our apperizers — 3 salads and one order of clams were brought out. One member of our group complained to the host(owner?), who was responsive, but the response basically was the kitchen was busy… and it takes time for the clams. Well, it still seemed like a long time! The entrees took another 25 minutes, and while one was requested with sauce on side, it came loaded with sauce. All of us ordered vegetables rather than pasta, and they were soggy. Desserts were great

Felt like venturing off this evening and going to this restaurant that we heard about that recently reopened by the original owner. The original name was La Viola. Now it is Roasario’s(named after the owner) A few tables outside in front of the establishment, but we chose to dine inside. Very simple, elegant, nothing to ecentric, just nicely decorated. Dim lights, big place, was quite surprised from the outside it looked so small. From the moment the owner sits you down you are greeted by the server. What a delight he was. Very personable, told us the nightly specials, and was intense on describing every dish. Hubby had to have the stuffed artichoke for an appetizer. I did not have any, so he had no problem eating it. He has a very hearty appetitie. Something I just don’t care for. He finished every last piece, said it was superb. The wine list had nice choices, we choose a bottle of Castello D’Albola 2006 Chianti for $ 34.00. 90 pt. w/s rating. it was medium bodied, nice ripe fruit, smooth tannins. Entrée: I noticed they had eggplant parmesan on the menu. I love this dish but most places put so much breading on it.(Do not like breading) Roasario stopped by to see how we were doing so I asked him how he prepared the eggplant. He gladly told me no breading, they use a little bit of egg, so it was decided eggplant for me. woohoo, I was so excited because I am so fussy with this dish. It came with a side salad(ceasar) yummy and a side of pasta(penne with marinara) The eggplant was one of the best I have ever had, boy oh boy I was sold. Like he said, no breading, light, tasty, and melted mozzarella cheese soaked on the top, large portion enough for two people. Hubby ordered Chicken Garlic and Rosemary with a side salad and pasta. About eight pieces of nicely seasoned chicken pieces with Italian seasonings, moist, tender, and very tasty. I had to try and they were mouth watering. Of course the waiter continued to check on us, as well as the owner talking with every guest in the restaurant. He knows evryone of his guest and you can tell he is so passionate about his business, truely cares. Made you feel warm and fuzzy inside… Finished with Tiramisu and cheesecake… espresso and coffee, had a long drive back home. The Tiramisu was such a delight, normally I do not care for Tiramisu because it’s always soaked in coffee, but this was perfect. I ate it and husband ate the cheesecake which was also very good. Very nice evening, service-exceptional food– superb, atmosphere– simple and elegant Need to add to my list of favorite Italian. Style is Sicilian style not Northern Italian… Summer Special Menu is being offered, great deals… $ 22.95 all Inclusive appetizer, Entrée, choice of salad or pasta with coffee and dessert. We did not take advantage of this only because I wanted something off the special menu. Some of the entrees on the summer menu offered: Sole Francese, Veal Florentina, Salmon Broiled, Lobster FraDiavolo, etc… Appetizers included: Eggplant Rollatini, Baked clams, Zuppa di Mussels etc… Yes, thank goodness for notepad on my phone… Other guest were taking advatage of this special menu, what a deal… Rosario is more than passionate, he is professional, caring, charming in every aspect. Wonderful time, til next time… many kudos… great job and welcome back!!!
