I’ve been here a handful of times, and the food is always good! Service is excellent, and the décor is nice. I no longer live in the area, but whenever I am back in town I always meet my friends here.

This restaurant is not Asian infusion! The menu has seafood and Italian. The mussels are amazing. I came here after dinner at a place close by. I heard some one say the mussels are great. So we tried them. Wow. They are amazing. I cannot wait to come again! Defiantly a great spot in Blue Point!

Outstanding. My wife and just had a great dinner at the Blue Point Bistro and Grill. We both started with the fantastic french onion soup. She had the Penne Ala Vodka and I had the chicken cordon blue. Both very delicious. Finished with a personal size cheesecake. The portions were huge. The service was fantastic.

This was my first time at this restaurant. I highly recommend it. Between the owner. waitress…atmosphere and food… everything was exceptional… Definitely will be coming back. I loved the salmon and the crème brûlée.

Found a new local place!!! I went to Blue Point Bistro last week with a gift certificate not knowing what to expect, I have to say I really enjoyed & will be back. I had a chicken dish with roasted peppers & mozzarella cheese, portion size was just right & very tasty. My friend had one of the fish dishes & she really enjoyed. Prices weren’t bad either. Enjoy!

This is an excellent resturant! Went last night for the second time this month and was blown away. I had the skirt steak special which was perfect. My wife got the risotto which was amazing. Homemade cheescake for desert and Blue Point Toasted Lager on tap. The owner and chef Mario are great guys who bend over backward to make sure everything is perfect. Thanks for a great, local night!

This rest. i believe had closed for a period of time because of a flood or fire, im not sure which. They should of spruced it up when they re-opened. The food is good, but not great. Their wine list is poor at best. One in our party ordered a fairly common rum which they did not have in stock. The owner, or maybe he was the manager, was trying to be nice, but he got a bit overbearing at times. They have potential but need to maybe put a bit more into the place to make it more enticing, especially for diners who like going out on the weekends for not just food, but maybe some light entertainment… Will we go back, perhaps but they really need to do more in order to lure people in…

This is one of the South Shore’s best kept secrets. Snuggled into a neat little strip mall on the south side of Montauk Highway, this place rocks with its tasty dishes and warm, pleasant atmosphere, The owner is so accommodating. For the person who said he had horrible jokes, I guess they can’t appreciate an owner who likes his customers and enjoys what he does! The Gorgonzola hanger steak was delicious and cooked to perfection; mooing the way I like it! Chef is friendly and loves his job! Don’t tell too many people; we won’t be able to get in!

Unfortunately, this place has closed to doors. Was a 10 in my book as far as the food is concerned. My wife and I were heading here for a top notch dinner this past Sat 4−17−15 only to find that they have closed. What an unfortunate closing of a very good restaurant. We wound up eating at Sage café that night and THAT dining disaster made us miss Bluepoint Bistro even more. I had to review that place.

Love this place. Great happy hour. Basically $ 3 and $ 4 drinks from 4 – 7. Not getting the 1 and 2 star reviews… Been coming here for 3 years. Always a great experience and I would put the rigatoni bolenese against anyone’s. Up there with the best I ever had, anywhere! !! The pesto hummus served gratis, rocks. So the decorations might not be as posh as a 5 star restaurant. Who cares. Bottom line. Friendly atmosphere, reasonably priced, and excellent food. Never had a bad meal. Enjoy.

Myself, my husband and two of our friends went for supper last night and it was better than anticipated. The previous bad reviews really are completely off. The atmosphere is very nice and laid back. The owner is very personable. It was a bit quiet for a Saturday night but that was perfect for our group as we prefer the quieter spots. The wine list was great and the owner very helpful at suggesting a wine for us — Rodney Strong Cabernet. I started with the tuna sashimi as an appetizer that was crusted with sesame seeds. My friend had the tuna tartar that had avocado and chips in it. Both were fantastic and the tuna was incredibly fresh. My friend and I both had a new special on the menu — Hawaiian Opah with baby potatoes, grilled zucchini and topped with a pesto sauce. The chef outdid himself. The fish was light with an amazing flavor. A little richer than salmon but not super fishy tasting. My husband had the grilled Atlantic salmon that he said was incredibly fresh and cooked perfectly. My friend’s husband had the rib-eye steak. For desert we had Blueberry Napoleon and chocolate mousse that we split between the four of us. The prices were comparable to other restaurants here in New York — the steak was, as I remember, about 23 dollars. The opah was around 20. A little more on the pricer side than what my husband and I are used to — but we also tend to frequent small town bars. For the freshness and delicious taste of the food, you definitely get what you pay for. Over all a very nice, relaxing evening and we will be returning.

I hate to give negative reviews, but this place was the absolute worst, and people should spend their money elsewhere. My boyfriend and I wanted to try the place out because we live local. Completely dead on a Friday night(now we know why), the food was way over priced for what it was, elevator music, staff drinking at bar, and to top it off the food was so bad. Skirt steak was inedible, stuffed chicken was sub par and disgusting. A customer actually reminded our waitress that we were still waiting for our check, to which she loudly replied«oh sh**, I forgot». We will definitely never return.

Went to this place the other day because of the 5 star reviews and I will not be going back. The food wasn’t good. It tasted like it came straight from restaurant depot Its only saving grace was that the staff was very friendly.

All around five star experience. We met a few friends for dinner, and were seated within ten minutes of Arriving for our reservation. Nice welcoming décor, low lighting, and just from observing within the first few minutes you could see that the waitstaff was a team. We got a list of specials and the regular menu, made our decisions and then saw the incredible plates being delivered to other tables, and kept asking what’s that?! You know how there’s always the one plate you hope you get? Every plate looked spectacular! Now for the menu… off the regular menu my friend ordered the tuna sashimi appetizer that was rare and melted in your mouth which was accompanied by an extraordinarily tangy wasabi on steroids. I ordered off the specials, the drunken mussels, they weren’t the slightest bit fishy and were accompanied by a beer sauce with bacon and Gorgonzola. They were heavenly. Definitely meant to share because you don’t want to fill up and they are heavy. My fiancé got the warm spinach salad which was so flavorful. The entrees… YUM! I got the pecan encrusted sea bass… the crust was crispy and the fish just fell apart, it was a masterpiece and a decent size piece. The vegetables, which are usually a side note of a dish were magnificent. They were the understated star of the dish, what a surprise. So fresh and cooked to perfection. A few people got the filet which was cooked perfectly as well, and all around everyone was so impressed at the table. No one disliked anything! The angel hair pasta was obviously fresh and so paper thin… mmmccchhhwwwaaa! We were so full, especially from the warm fresh bread delivered with a garlic butter hummus. So we ordered a banana bread putting and all had a taste… the perfect bite to end a perfect meal. Bravo blue point grille! Thank you for friendly service And a memorable meal.(We have been here in the past and have had good experiences, but they are definitely getting better and better… I mean five stars!!)

Not impressed, food barely edible… This fairly new restaurant is in the location of the older Cilantro’s that was a local favorite by many. I was truly hoping to find this place a 5 star hit but was disappointed. We arrived about 5:30 on a Friday night and the place was empty.(You can see from my photos.) There were some people at the bar for the happy-hour reduced-price drinks, but the tables in the main room had no diners. There was no upgrade in the décor. The«art» work on the walls were items I’ve seen in Home Goods and Bed Bath & Beyond, inexpensive stuff to just fill the walls. I thought a new owner would have spiced the place up a little. We sat at a table for two and everything was going well. We ordered a bottle of Hess Chardonnay. The waitress was new and had to check on every question we had about the menu, but that was fine. She was pleasant and young, and we wanted to help her become confident. «Everyone has to start some place» as they say. The disappointment came when we were discouraged from sharing a few of the appetizers. We were told that there wouldn’t be enough for two. Encouraged to try the fabulous«Drunk» mussels, we did. What first hit me was the fishy smell. I ate two or three and did not want another. My husband didn’t think they were too bad after the first few. The bread was nice and warm so he enjoyed that. The mussels were covered with a creamy, gorgonzola cheese and bacon that didn’t enhance the mussels at all. Sorry! Bad choice! The owner/manager came over and asked about the mussels. I told him they smelled and taste fishy and he said they were fresh. That’s it. No offer to give me something else or offer any compensation. For dinner, I had the linguini with shrimp and calamari with cherry tomatoes and a light creamy wine sauce. The pasta and shrimp were cooked perfectly! One star! Unfortunately, the calamari was extremely tough(overcooked?) and the dish was very salty. There was no other taste. To top that off, one of the cherry tomatoes was half rotten with a big black spot. Didn’t the cook see that? I ate the shrimp and about half the linguini. I was done. My husband had the Blacked Redfish and Shrimp, with spinach and rice. He also thought the shrimp were cooked perfectly but his dish was salty too, to the point of not being able to finish it. Both our dishes were still half-full and we didn’t want it wrapped. Should that have been a clue to the kitchen? We had not a thought about ordering dessert. All I wanted was to go home and drink water to wash down the saltiness. So, just two stars. I probably should have complained louder, and made a fuss, but I knew I wouldn’t go back, so why bother. We crossed this place off our list and marked this as just a bad experience. No wonder the tables were empty on a Friday night! The meal with a $ 34 bottle of Hess Chardonnay, and tip, cost us $ 108. It’s a disgrace for a meal so bad. I will not return and I will not recommend this place to friends. Sorry! To the new young waitress, get experience here, then find another restaurant!
