Most of the Indian Casino do NOT care if you are a non smoker, as with the smokers, disgusting… Plus the FACT… you cannot even play awhile anymore at the Indian Casino’s…use to be a bit fun. They will claim they are the best on t. v…Reno bound
the next time we want to play!

This was a nice place to stay for our daughter’s HSU graduation. We rented the king suite and it was lovely. It offers a king sized bed and a queen sized pull out sofa. It says it sleeps 5, but that means that 3 are in the king. That’s awkward. So you have a couple and who else?! We had to add on a rollaway, so that my mother in law didn’t have to share the king (we had the teens share the pullout). I must say that the bathroom is freakishly large and IMO wasted space. You could host a party for 10 in there. For the price of the room, it would have been smarter to add another bedroom rather than have such a giant bathroom AND another large bathroom with just a toilet.
All in all, a nice place to stay with ample parking. Too bad they do not allow late check out. That was a bummer and the reason for the 4 stars.

Ok in all honesty I am not a fan of casinos. I don’t do well with cigarette smoke. But I really like the hotel here. It’s modern and clean. Rooms are very spacious and bathrooms are large. They offer room service which is always great and the food is decent. The bar usually had live music on weekends and room to dance. If you get there early enough you can order bar food. And it’s tasty.

They must water down the liquor. Wife had 5 drinks including a shot of Patron and didn’t even get a buzz. At these drink prices there should be some alcohol in them.

Fairly clean but stinks of cigarette smoke.
A decent place if you want to jump in on their nightly poker tournaments.
Aside from that, I don’t recommend much. Their table games are meh, slot payouts are horrible and don’t even think of staying in the hotel. Lots of shady ass people here, tweakers, stinky hippies and mountain people. Come for the poker, then go home.

Professional and cordial staff. They allow overnight RV parking up to 3 nights (they even have dump facilities). After registration and becoming a member of their Redwood Rewards Club, they welcome you with restaurant discount and play credit.
We ate at their Alice’s Restaurant and we enjoyed everything we ordered.
Very happy with this place!

Blue Lake casino has really nice rooms! I ate in Eureka and was too tired to gamble having driven from watsonville, but will next time. Staff very pleasant and hotel seems brand new and room was quiet and nonsmoking.

Staying at the hotel and so far the food has proven to be of poor quality, the rooms although nicely decorated have paper thin walls and the staff is less than courteous. It is sad because there is so much potential for this establishment, but they have too many issues.

A recent concert at the casino brought us out for a visit, the package deal on a room for the night with tickets to the venue was a great value and made staying late for the concert and partying all night easy as we were within close walking distant to our room for the evening when it all came to an end after 2am.
Our room for the evening was well appointed and quite comfortable — a king bed room with a patio right on the pool. Rooms have either a patio or balcony. The large room had an arm chair, a cushioned bench, flat screen on the dresser, a table/​desk with two chairs, coffee maker, WiFi, and multiple mirrors (a full length by the front door, a nice touch to check your look before going out the door), along with a large bathroom and shower with lots of hot water.
Alice’s restaurant in the casino provides room service as well to the hotel with pretty decent food. Room service charges; 2 $ service fee + 18% gratuity. We ordered some sweet treats in the evening and it was great and brought to us in about 10 minutes, as well breakfast the next morning was quite good and delivered within about 25 minutes. A good breakfast, eggs, crepes, waffles and several other options are available, and in comparison to other hotels the prices are in line or even a bit less with what you would expect.
This is a nice hotel to get away for the night, the casino is okay, small with most of the gaming you would expect, a small card game area, mostly video and digital gaming.
The venue room for concerts and such is okay, security is good and the staff we encountered all professional, personable and courteous.
A great place to stay especially with their concert and room packages.
3.5 stars rounded up for the great staff and we plan to return again.

This place has been going downhill for 3years. No variety in bands in the lounge. How about an occasional country band to dance to… Here tonight on Halloween and can’t get a bloody Mary. Told they are only making «simple» drinks! Two ingredients vodka and bloody Mary mix… plus an olive for garnish. Last time for a while.

This is a really fun place with very happy employees. The service is stellar. Bartenders are on point. And I rarely give high marks. The burger is amazing and PERFECT fries. They have rv parking. Awesome place.
Really. Can’t go wrong with stopping by.

This is just a review for their bar, but it also speaks volumes for the rest of the establishment. I’ll say that probably the worst bar in the entire county is Blue Lake Casino. The drinks were the most expensive for a «well» drink than anywhere else and the bar tender refused to give me any more than a splash of alcohol to my whiskey sour. It tasted like straight lemon juice. I only have a drink at most once a month socially, so I’m not a heavy drinker but i literally thought she just gave me straight lemon juice with ice in it. Actually, it tasted more like a margarita mix. She got angry with me when I asked if she could top it off and said that she would charge me double. Instead of trying to fix the situation and make a happy customer, she rolled her eyes at me. It was the only time I’ve never tipped a bartender more than a dollar, and I always tip very well to people who take good care of me at the bar.
Also, I might add, why is it that drinks here are some of the highest in the county? You think it would be better for a casino business to serve lower priced drinks in hopes that you would gamble with your money? Shoot, in Vegas, they give free drinks to people even playing the nickle machines. It’s just a thought.

I was completely insulted this morning by your staff.
It’s almost comical, really. I was checked out of my hotel room and had my briefcase and suitcase next to me while I gamed. And a portly man with a mustache asked how I was doing. Fine I said. And he told me I HAD TO CHECK my bag. Why I ask? I could have an electronic device in my bag.
It’s 2015. I have a laptop, a car FOB a work FOB and two cell phones for work.
So by his logic I and every other guest should check our cell phones at the coat check?
I am a gambler and stay in Humboldt for work every two weeks for work.

I love the hotel room and sushi was topself. But I have never been so insulted in a casino in all my life.
He cost you 1k in play every other week.

Staff is friendly, food in the restaurant is really good and reasonably priced. There’s a ²⁴⁄₇ gas station /​mini mart basically on the property which is great.
Free WiFi is nice albeit a bit twitchy (read: Don’t expect to stream anything).
Standard room is huge with comfortable beds, ice cold A/​C and a vanity area (which eases the pain of the obvious lack of counter space in the otherwise enormous bathroom). Walls didn’t seem thin until early morning when I heard the neighbors rustling. I turned down the a/​c, turned on the LCD TV (which could benefit from some component cables for better picture quality), inserted my ear plugs and drifted back to sleep.
Casino is fine but no craps or roulette always disappoints. Not their fault.
Didn’t listen to the live music but the lounge had 21 beers on tap, several specialty cocktails and good service. The menu had standard pub stuff some of which I might try tonight after the wedding.
The pool and hot tub were open till 10 and sparkling clean.
I probably won’t be back just because it’s so far away from Sac but it’s nice to know this little gem exists if I am ever up this way again.

Beautiful rooms. Views of green grass and farms. Casino entrance is right down the hall. Few restaurant selections at the casino. I’d recommend, and am sure staying here next time I’m in town.

This hotel seems brand new, it’s very nice! The rooms are big, very clean and the customer service was fantastic! They had cribs and mini fridges available upon request which was a really nice perk!
We didn’t go in to the casino were not big gamblers and we have our kids with us.

Stayed the night passing through. Did great gambling, slots were loose and we walked out happy and ahead!
Had to pay for our drinks, but who cares if you walk out this far ahead???

The service at The Wave bar in the casino is not good. The music and the atmosphere was good but we had to try to get the attention of a bartender to get a drink. Finally one of the bartenders told us it was rude to wave at the bartender to summon a drink. Wait. WHAT?
We shouldn’t have to wave at s bartender when our drinks are empty!
Other than that our stay was just ok. The room was nice.
Overall though, service was not good. Definitely not the usual Humboldt friendly service that most local businesses offer.

The hotel staff members were exceptionally pleasant. The room was very clean. My buddy and I shared a standard room equipped with two comfy queen beds. Our room came complete with every hygiene necessity. I had forgotten my tooth brush (like an idiot) and the staff gave me one free of charge. We also asked and received a sweet mini-​fridge, to keep our beer and leftovers chilled for our two night stay in the beautiful Humboldt redwoods. This was also free of charge. There was a fully functioning air conditioning/​heating unit, as well as a solid coffee maker that was easy to use (I hate fiddling with those things while hungover). The best part of our room came unexpected. There was a 3×5 ft balcony; an answer to our prayers, if you catch my drift.
The jacuzzi was open until 10pm every night, but the pool was closed indefinitely. This was probably only a seasonal closure though, because we stayed during a chilly January.
I’m not much of a gambler, but the casino was nice. There was a somewhat odd crowd, but then again that’s any casino for ya’.
The sushi/​steakhouse restaurant was pretty good actually. After reading the reviews we didn’t expect much, but after filling up on their porterhouse steak and a couple sushi rolls, my friend and I went back to our room completely satisfied.
The hotel is also very close in proximity to Trinidad State Beach, which is absolutely breath taking. The park has cool unkept trails, which makes you feel more adventurous. This is one of my favorite views on the coast of California (that’s coming from a NorCal-​bred surfer too).
I had a blast on this vacation, and much of this had to do with the hospitable Blue Lake Hotel and Casino. I can’t wait to return!

Basing this rating on slot play/​table games. Seriously bummed that the attendance is low and the slots/​tables dont pay. Hearing other regulars complain about this as well.
Dont know why this has been happening but my honest belief is that BLC has been on a decline for months. Maybe its time the gaming commission stepped in and did an investigation again.
Keep it up BLC and you’re just going to be another tweaker filled hell hole.
