Description

Specialties

We offer massage therapy, skincare, manicures, pedicures, waxing, and specialty services such as body wraps, salt glows, herbal sloughing, and spa packages. Every service we provide is customized to meet the needs of the individual client.

Our therapists and estheticians find out what you’re looking for — whether it’s just to relax, help with a pulled muscle, or put your best face forward — and then integrate different techniques to give you the massage, facial, or specialty treatment you need.

Spaah’s focus is on exceptional client service at fair prices. Our philosophy is that the spa experience should be available to everyone.

History

Established in 1995.

Spaah opened its doors on September 15, 1995 on the south side of downtown Bloomington. Initially our focus was on hot tub soaks and massages, but as we grew, we realized that our clients were looking for more varied services. Our small business has evolved into a full-service day spa, and we couldn’t be happier or prouder of that.

In 2005 we moved to a new, larger location at the corner of 10th and Walnut, which enabled us to add still more services to our «menu.» Manicures, pedicures, skincare and waxing wouldn’t have been possible at the old location, but now they’re a major contributor to our business.

Spaah has been named «Best Day Spa» by the readers of the Bloomington Herald Times several times now — the first time was in 2003, then eight years running 2007 — 2014. We hope to keep earning that honor, as well as the loyalty of our many regular clients.

Meet the Business Owner

Donna L.

Business Owner

I am 47 years old, born in Chicago, Illinois. I am the 5th of 13 children.

I have a degree from Northwestern University, Evanston (1983), and am married to a cute, absent-minded physicist named Fred. No kids, but we have two cats (Mongo and Miss Billie) who keep us entertained.

I play the trombone in a couple of local groups (Bloomington Symphony Orchestra and the Bloomington Brass Quintet), love reading, play too many computer games, and am a decent vegetarian cook.

I’m proud of Spaah! and what we’ve been able to accomplish. Sometimes I think «Wow, I did THAT?!» when I look back at where we started, and compare it to where we are now. I hope to keep Spaah! thriving for many years to come.
