History

Established in 1996.

Scholar’s Rock has a very interesting history. We purchased the property in the mid 90’s. At the time it was a dilapidated motel. We remodeled the building converted it into 63 unique studio apartments.

Scholar’s Rock was originally the Stony Crest Motel that was built in the early 1950’s.

Since we remodeled in the mid 90’s, Scholar’s Rock has been very popular with upperclassmen and graduate students at IU. Residents are able to live alone in peace and quiet, while being just a few blocks from the main Indiana University campus.
