I like going to Hobby Lobby because well… I have hobbies. Namely painting and models which they have plenty of at a great price. Also I can’t believe how many other reviews on here focus on the fact that it’s owned by Christians. It’s not like they force you to read the bible and convert the second you enter the store.

One of my favorite stores to shop at, especially when they have sales!

Hobby Lobby is by far the best local place to go for almost every sort of craft stuff.(Their fabric selection is a little sparse, but they’ve got the basics.) Prices are great to begin with, and then they have crazy sales on a regular basis. Don’t forget to print out the 40% off coupon that’s nearly standard on their website — although since nearly everything is always on sale anyway, you may have trouble finding a regular-priced thing to use it on. Like a previous reviewer mentioned, the religiosity is not subtle(there’s a whole aisle of crosses!), but on the other hand, no one has ever actively tried to convert me while I was in there either.

I want to hate Hobby Lobby because of their Right Wing Religious activism, but if you want to do some sort of crafting, sewing, art projects, baking, framing, Christmas, beading, scrapbooking, painting… well…essentially anything creative… Hobby Lobby is hands down the best place to go. Their prices are dirt cheap too, so I imagine they also practice the good Christian principle of sweat-shop, third-world labor. This is a very morally conflicted four star rating.
