The Ewing Manor was part of the«Christmas at the Mansions Tour.» The manor itself is amazing! The Channel-Norman Architecture is stunning, especially the spiral staircase. The manor is decorated for Christmas throughout and made it even more spectacular! The history of the manor is interesting and primarily featured Hazel Buck Ewing’s life. She was an equestrian and the stables were part of the tour. In each room a docent shared interesting factoids and historical facts about the manor. The cutting edge technology for the time period was also promoted, such as the concrete beams made to look like wood, and the«automatic» horse watering troughs. The manor was actually lived in until 1969, but was decorated for the holidays in 1930’s style. The tour is a one night event and could easily become a holiday tradition.
