Yup, a roach in our food… the worst part about it was that we found it at the bottom of the plate after we had eaten the food. I did not pay for our food after that we left and never again.

I love Chinese buffets and I’m very easy to please. I won’t get upset if there’s Mac and cheese on a buffet or anything like that. I went into this place and it felt like many other Chinese buffets I’ve been in, maybe a bit on the lower quality side, but I’ve seen worse. I picked up some General Tso and it smelled horrendous. I couldn’t tell what it was, but similar to melted plastic. It was overpowering I tried to eat it but it tasted like it too. I had to spit it out. After that, I had the taste in my mouth making everything else taste just as bad. Had to leave without even finishing a plate. I’m sure it was a fluke, but I don’t know why they bothered putting it out on the buffet like that so I’m justifying the one-star.

This place is not that bad as what other people said. They have great variety of food that you can choose from, and the lunch price is under $ 7.

Went there because I had a craving for clams & mussels. Food was fresh but they hardly had any clams. Was there for about an hr & had much more mussels than clams. As for the service, absolutely THEWORSESERVICE!!! I had to flag down the waitress or whatever she called herself. It wasn’t busy so she couldn’t blame it on the crowd. Took literally about 30 min to get a soda. Might go again but hoping she won’t be there. If so, I’ll probably just walk right out. Better off going to another spot of you want better service.

Been going here since I was a kid. Great food, great value, and even greater customer service. Lunch special is the way to go in my book. Food is fresh and always seems to be enough served.

I don’t know what’s up with the bad reviews… Some vegetables might be a little over cooked but the food is excellent. As soon as I came in customer service immediately asked if I wanted a beverage. I got it very quickly. The person even gave me quarters(when I asked) so I can feed the meter. He asked no questions, and just gave me the quaters in compliance with my request. Good food, good service. Good review. Don’t know what all you other Unilocal snobs are complaining about.

I came here for a little girl’s birthday party to use the ‘ty Ro’… Party Room… The main letters that described this room were missing!!! I can’t really speak for service because the one single server that was assigned to the room was only there to take Plates away and give us drinks. He abandoned us after everyone stopped eating. I had togo to the station and get myself some water. The buffet was a Mish Mosh of all sorts of randomness. The salads were with the sushi and the jello and some desserts. While at the other stations, American food like wings and BBQ chicken were next to the Asian and seafood. The selection was mediocre for a buffet. I’m not a big fan of seafood but they could have added a little more than just shrimp cocktail, clams, and friend shrimp. As someone here said, there was no reason to their food placement. I had be here once before about 3 years ago for buffet and their selection was wider and fresher. Nor sure if I’m going back. Unless someone pays… And even then, I’ll tell them to take me to State St Diner right next door.

I am giving 2 stars because: the owners seemed very nice. This place is not bad because they don’t care about it. I do not like to leave bad reviews, unless there is genuinely bad customer service, OR the owners don’t care about it. I hope this will be constructive criticism for the owners, if they read it. The quality, and temperature of the food fluctuated widely, and none of it was acceptable. The hibachi looks scary, and the buffet was totally random. Hot dishes, next to cold dishes, next to saltines in packets. Lots of American food. Including Mac and cheese from a box. I wanted to like this place. I did like the people, and I want their business to be a success. I can’t recommend it at this time, as the food needs major improvement. Sorry guys.

I live in Bloomfield and was looking for a buffet place. Why I didint take heed to a recent review by a consumer only 4 months prior who said if you want cheap, mediorce food this is the place. But not really my 12.00 c/have bought better Chinese food at a take out. HORRIBLE is the only word that comes to mind. First off and maybe because ot the humidity, the restauarnt smelled like the inside of an old shoe. For me, I cannot understand how Chinese people can mess up their own food. Everything tasted pastey. The fried rice, the broth to the won ton soup and even my iced tea tasted unusual. Fried rice and won ton broth, really? Not quite sure maybe there are some kind of additives in the food. Then lets say this. Chinese ppl making japanese sushi and THEN trying to deep fry it in tempura batter. This place is a swing and a mix. If you want a buffet, please travel to Hackensack NJ to Bön Buffet. You won’t be disappointed.

If you are looking for cheap mediocre food… here it is. Food is not bad… but it isn’t great. Its just that. Nothing stands out about this place decent food at a decent price and its walking distance from where I live so its super convenient. One complaint that really isn’t the restaurants fault but there are always kids running around they need to enforce their«children must be accompanied by an adult» policy. I actually saw a child take the spoon out of pudding and like it and then put it back in the pudding… gross!!! While her mom was four booths away stuffing her face with her back to her child(who couldn’t have been older than 4 – 5)! People please keep your kids under control!!! Besides that not a bad place food has always been hot when we have went never had any problems.

I really wanted to give the restaurant a good review. The owners really want to impress, but the staff does not go the extra mile. I will get to the food. The restaurant is huge, and it was busy. I thought I was in for good food. They have a back room and there was a children’s party, so kids were running everywhere. They have an enormous buffet, but the food was cold. Not warm, but cold. Well, the Chinese food was anyway. They also serve American fare and this was in the warm to hot range. The hottest dish was the mashed potatoes and that was because they ran through so many. The Chinese food is not good. The mashed potatoes were good(if you go for the KFC archetype). They should be forced to give credit to Kraft for the mac and cheese. If you decide to go 1. Go for lunch… it is cheaper.(Dinner is 11.95) 2. Eat food that has been recently brought out.

A nice, quiet time. Private, diner-like booths and set-ups. They have a back-room that I might have my next birthday at, which I’ll probably celebrate by myself. You want some thick, Chinese-American food, this is it right here. $ 8 lunch, $ 12.95 dinner: Mix of oysters, basic sushi rolls, shrimp, pizza, rice, lo-mein, fish, spare ribs, steak, beef, chicken, fried Chinese stuff… etc. All you can eat, but I can only fit in about 1 and ½ plates because this stuff is heavy… They have some very fresh fruit that feels oh-so-good at the end of the meal, and ice-cream if you don’t care about fruit. I once stayed for 4 hours just chatting with a friend(who i am not inviting to my next birthday party) Even though its a cheap restaurant, I can tell some couples come here for their anniversary dinners… so that’s why there’s some sort of a special feeling at this place, and the waiters are very friendly.
