Creekside Inn

If you want a quiet getaway surrounded by mountains where you can hike, fish, and relax without having to camp then this is the place to go. Very well kept establishment. Beautiful, quiet rooms with a creek right outside your patio where ducks swim and walk by. Relaxing jacuzzi and heated pool. Complimentary cookies at 7pm (the peanut butter are to die for) and complimentary breakfast that includes eggs, sausage, biscuits and gravy as well as cereals, fruits, oatmeal, juices, etc. Highly recommend Creekside Inn.

We are vacationing in Bishop at made reservations at The Bishop Creekside Inn. To our dismay we were not allowed to check-​in until 4 (we should have inquired.) After recent hip surgery, I was ready to take a nap in my Hotel room & rest my aching hip/​back. I called and let front office staff, Jena, know of my situation. She assured me it would probably be earlier, and that we were on a priority list. I phoned at 3:40, in pain, & really needing to check-​in. I was again told by Jena it wouldn’t be until 4 (had she told me that and not led me to believe it was earlier we would have made other arrangements.) I told Jena in that case I might have to lie down in the lobby. She was quite snippy if you will, then hung — up on me. Very professional Jenna. I’m surprised they employ someone rude like Jena. Shame on you. I’ve never had a bad experience on the several times we visited this Hotel. Most likely will be my last.
Side note: we were able to check in after all and were treated nicely like the the way a paying customer should by Isabella.

We booked our stay in January for a May visit. We never were informed that the hotel would be undergoing phase 3 of 4 remodel/​landscaping. When we arrived, they would not allow checkin until 4 pm since the grounds were strewn with construction crews, and presumably they wrapped up by 4. The day after we arrived (we were there Thurs, Fri, Sat and Sunday nights); there were crews outside our patio door (we paid $ 159 specifically for a creek side room). They were on a lift/​scaffold with a compressor outside our door between 1 – 2, right when we were trying to nap our 21 month old. I called the front desk twice to speak with. The manager who was out running errands. By the time she got back I was furious and we had decided to walk our baby in the wind and rain in order to try and get her to rest. I asked manager for some compensation due to the inconvenience and that we were paying for room that we were unable to enjoy because of the construction. Not only was it disruptive but there were no signs like «pardon our dust»… The manager claimed that the website had full information on this construction project but we were unable to find that there. We received several confirmation emails none of which mentioned anything about the construction. Finally I asked for the room rate that you get for not having a Creekside room. We were comped just $ 30 for that one night. The following day we requested housekeeping, did not have our door tag out, and no one arrived to empty garbage, provide clean towels, make beds, vacuum etc. Needless to say it was an unfortunate and poor experience given the expense of staying at this hotel. It appears that the la Quinta next-​door has been remodeled and with that, and other hotels and Airbnb options, I would spend my money else where.

It makes me unhappy to post a less than 4 star review for The Creekside Inn in Bishop. There are several problems. The manager refused to make any amends to my daughter whose 21 mo old daughter was kept from napping due to the construction noise right by her patio. The rooms are so poorly lighted I couldn’t find a decent place to apply makeup. The shower is large and tiled nicely; the bed is comfortable. The creek is beautiful even though the landscaping is being redone. We were unaware they had major reno going on even though manager claimed it was on their website. (Not) We have spent $ 169/​night on a ground floor creekside three nights. The price commands excellent service. Unfortunately that isn’t the case. The daily room maintenance is limited. Our towels were freshened and cups/​glasses were replaced. No bed care or vacuuming. Our ice bucket wasn’t emptied and today’s wet towel was taken off the floor and hung over the shower door!
Don’t know where to recommend to stay but don’t waste $$$ here!

We recently booked a room by the creek with a private balcony & loved our four day stay. King size bed was so comfortable & the rooms so quiet. The staff was so kind & helpful. We went to Bishop for the purpose of the fishing nearby at Lake Sabrina & Crowley Lake — so beautiful — there is still snow in the mountains. Gave a four star rating because of the construction going on but I would recommend a stay at this Inn. We will be back!

What a wonderful place to stay. Staff is delightful. The room is beautiful looks to be recently remodeled. Simply loved being near the creek. This our first time staying here. We would definitely do it again. My husband enjoyed the cookies. We didn’t realize when we booked the room that free breakfast was included we love that it is within walking distance to everything in town.

Burglarized by housekeeping. While I was working, the housekeeping staff went through my things and stole cosmetics, rx medicine, and an irreplaceable bracelet. Managements response was that they fired the lady because they have a zero tolerance for this sort of thing. But refused to compensate for stolen items because the employee denied it. So… they fired here because they have a zero tolerance but won’t compensate me because she denied it. Hmmmmm. That doesn’t make sense. I have stayed all around the world in many different types of hotels and I went to Bishop California to get burglarized. Unbelievable! If you stay here don’t leave anything valuable in your room.

We stayed in Bishop for one night on March 5^th in room 225 and choose the hotel with the best rating and probably one of the most expensive ones. Very upset that me and my daughter woke up with a few bites on our feet. Checked the bed and found a big red stain on mattress as well as box spring. Unfortunately we have ran into this issue before and if you are familiar this means there are bed bugs somewhere on the bed. I can not contact the hotel because we are in Lake Tahoe where there is hardly any service and I would have called them directly. I will need to ask for my money back and recommend no one stay here. It is a very nice hotel but in that type of business they should be checking their beds more often. You should not be exposing people to these type of conditions. Especially to children. I am outraged and hope this doesn’t happen to anyone else.

What a delightful hotel! Even though the front of the building is currently under construction, the lobby area is very welcoming, and the staff was just great.
The rooms have been recently renovated and are beautifully decorated with rich dark wood, very attractive wallpaper, lovely artwork and the most interesting lamps. The bathroom has the greatest walk-​in shower and two sink areas.
We couldn’t be happier, and will definitely stay here again.

Pretty nice little hotel, pool was great, rooms were updated and really well maintained. Breakfast was fine.

We decided to stay over in Bishop instead of driving all the way home to Lake Tahoe in a blizzard on Christmas Eve. The Creekside in was perfect! Very cozy and accommodating. The room was great big but still intimate and super clean. The sheets and comforter were wonderfully soft and warm and Fredi (I think) at the front desk was quick and very nice. As a PLUS, we were told that the bowling alley had great prime rib and it was right next door. This was just odd enough and small town enough to be a good idea. We had a terrific visit with Tom (owner) and great service (Joe) at the restaurant inside the bowling alley and probably the best prime rib I’ve had in years. This was a very memorable Christmas Eve and we will always stay at the Creekside when going through Bishop from now on and always stop in to the bowling alley for dinner!

We had a wonderful experience at this hotel. The service was extraordinary, the room was large with a view of the creek and the snowy Inyo and White Mountains (Room 138). There is a full hot breakfast that is excellent. EV drivers, this hotel will hook you up with 120 volts which overnight helps a lot. Coming soon will be Tesla HPWC if things go as planned. We will certainly return to the Bishop Creekside Inn!

What a lovely place to stay while traveling north on Highway 395. The Inn is on the main highway, nestled between a bowling alley and Schat’s famous bakery. The landscaping is beautiful and inviting. There is a fusion of bright colored flowers throughout the property. There is a creek that runs through the property, hence the name. We even saw ducks in the upper creek. There is a swimming pool and hot tub on the property that we enjoyed in the early morning.
The rooms are spacious and well appointed. Our room had two large queen beds, as well as a «sitting» area with a small couch, table and chairs. The bathroom was large with a second sink and mirror just outside the shower area. We were on the first floor which was nice.
A full breakfast is included with eggs, bacon, sausage, assorted breads and cereals, juices, coffee and tea. The personnel here were very helpful and gave us a great recommendation for dinner! This is a great place to stay.

What a beautiful, comfortable place to stay! Most people would probably not choose Bishop as a final destination, but this hotel is quite the gem and makes me want to return for a night.
The grounds are beautifully landscaped and a small creek runs right through the property (hence the name). There are bridges that cross over the creek to the pool area and plenty of seats near the creek. The pool area has a nice size pool, a hot tub and a restroom (which is always a plus)! There are lots of bugs at night, but by morning the pool had been cleaned and was sparkling!
The room was nicely appointed with very comfortable beds, a separate seating area (couch and chair), a large bench seating area, a wet bar and glass enclosed shower. We were on the bottom floor and could open our patio door into the parking lot. That was both a plus and a downside. The plus was that it made it easy to load the car. The downside is we could not leave the drapes open unless we wanted everyone to be able to see in. It was probably nicer on the side facing the creek (which I would request on a future visit).
A full breakfast was included with eggs, sausage, breads, yogurt, fruit and juices.

Beautiful rooms and gorgeous landscaping. Internet reception is very poor. Pros out-​way the cons Would stay every trip.

Sleepy, cozy little Bishop.
As a child, I came through here often to visit my great-​grammie in Carson, NV. And my grandpa, being an avid fisherman, stopped here (and every other city on the way) to check bait shops. So when we passed through here on our way to Tahoe, we stopped here. Because, at 2AM, when you only find two or three places that are open. I try to pick one that doesn’t look like Norman Bates motel. And this cute little inn, was totally not featured in any Alfred Hitchcock movies! Haha!
Upon arrival, we noticed a few parts of the inn were under construction, no biggie as it didn’t affect our stay. We stayed for two nights, and it was awesome! We got a room with the creek side view, how lucky of us. But it didn’t look very packed, so maybe we got lucky dropping in so late (er.or early?). Check in was easy, and the staff is truly awesome. It’s a small town, so you get that everybody knows everybody vibe, and for a Southern girl, I was so happy! I love it when a place gives off a warm and homey feel. We also received a complimentary breakfast buffet with scrambled eggs, biscuits, gravy, homestyle potatoes, bacon, sausage etc etc. And it was bomb diggity! And, they have plenty of seats along the creek to enjoy your cup of coffee or evening tea. I drink green tea at night, and enjoying a cup next to the babbling creek, staring at the stars was sooo breathtaking! I wish I could that every night! Oh well, a princess can dream! Oh, and they have a fish cleaning room to clean and gut your catch of the day! I was so happy about that, we are gonna have to utilize that next time for sure!
They have plenty of rooms, and ours was newly renovated, as are many of the rooms. Best part is they offer PLENTY of rooms with King beds (3 different types of rooms to be exact) which is freaking amazing if your significant other is over 6ft tall like mine! No dangling toesies and we both slept amazing. The beds are super soft, and the bed has regular pillows with decorative throw pillows on top, but those hit the corner because who actually sleeps with those on the bed?

We ended up with the King balcony, which had a beautiful view of the creek from the 2^nd floor, and a great view of the sunrise! Fabulous for a little outdoor yoga Sun Salutations (^_​^) The bedroom was really nice, had a mini keurig (wicked awesome because I always carry my kcups with me when traveling, just in case!), and dimmer lights for a little romantic atmosphere in the evening! The bed was soft, not overly cushy or fluffy, but not so hard to where you thought it was a rock. I mean, I’d sleep there again. Pillows, we bring our own, but theirs were pretty soft! I liked them. Flat screen TV and cable channels, the wi-​fi was kind of slow, but I only used it once so I can’t complain. It was free. Bathroom had plenty of linens too!
The staff was really sweet and accomodating. For being in such a small town, the property, rooms and overall feel of the place made you feel welcome and at ease. A fun place to stay at if your passing through on your way to or from Tahoe (^_​^) I would definitely stay again. Only downside is not pet-​friendly and smoke-​free. Other than that, I can’t complain, they had a freakin natural creek!

With a late snow storm in the forecast, we had to re-​route our camping trip at Rock Creek. We were even happier to discover that it’s Mule Days weekend in Bishop. I remembered staying here about 10 years ago when it was a Best Western. I googled Inn at Bishop Creek and see that is under new management. From what I remembered, the rooms were decent but it was pricey… I was pleasantly surprised to find a room rate of $ 129!!! Due to the Memorial Day holiday weekend, the booking was non-​refundable. Given the snowy stormy forecast, it was a risk I was more than happy to take.
Once we checked in, the lobby was clean but the décor was dated. Very typical old skool Best Western country wood grain fare with matching Grandma’s lamps & floral couches.
HOWEVER, the sign at the counter read something like «pardon our dust as we renovate»… I was quickly happily distracted by the complimentary tea, coffee, iced tea & lemonade at check-​in. At 7:00 pm they bake fresh cookies! Bummed we missed it while visiting some local hot springs.
Front office & breakfast staff were super friendly.
With two kids, clean rooms and wi-​fi are a MUST. This lodge meets both criteria! Looooved the newly renovated rooms, a generous selection of cable channels (even though there’s no time to channel surf with all the outdoor activities here!). We also didn’t have time to visit the pool & jacuzzi which are on the creek side of the Inn.
Their complimentary hot breakfast was awesome. Much better than Best Western’s. Hot scrambled eggs, sausage, potatoes, biscuits & gravy. A full selection of fresh & canned fruits, cereal varieties for adults & kids, hot oatmeal, toast, bagels and scones. There are two juice choices, coffee & tea. If that doesn’t meet your needs, the Inn is a 1-​minute skip to Erick Schat’s bakery and many other eateries.
Overall, a beautiful setting given the fact that it’s smack in the middle of motel & fast food row. At $ 129/​night, we will def be back.

I have to say, I wasn’t expecting much, only because this seems like a sleepy, small town. However, this is probably one of the nicest hotels I’ve stayed in (and I’ve stayed at many high-​end resorts before). Our room was newly renovated, SUPER clean, and very comfortable. The babbling creek flowing through the property is pretty. There’s plenty of creekside seating — a quiet place to enjoy your cup of coffee, or glass of wine. The employees were friendly and accommodating. And who doesn’t love free breakfast in the morning and tasty cookies in the evening?
My only complaints:
— The wifi is slow and you have to reconnect any time you want to use the Internet. I think they need to upgrade their system.
— Not dog or pet friendly. :(

If you love M’urica, you will love Creekside Inn. They have all of the amenities us Americans love: decent size television, cable, king size bed, spacious room, large comfy sitting chair with ottoman, free Wifi, swimming pool, hot tub, air conditioning, two bathroom sinks, complimentary breakfast and free cookies. It’s like they had a patriotic-​American focus group and whatever the participants suggested… Creekside Inn made a reality.
Their hot breakfast buffet: powdered eggs, sausage patties, biscuits, sausage gravy, fresh fruits, bagels, toast, orange juice, coffee, tea, oatmeal… and that’s all I can remember. If you don’t like squealing children with your morning coffee, take it to your room. These are the same kids that hold the pool hostage for the majority of the day, thanks to their absent-​minded parents that turn a blind eye away from their kids and towards their glass of wine.
Just before you think this is a Utopian-​paradise, I do have two gripes. Because our room was around the corner from the lobby, and it was downstairs, our sliding glass door was about 20-​feet from the sidewalk/​main road. Basically, you’re vulnerable to devil-​may-​care folk and the only thing that protects you is a sliding glass door. Two, on our last day there the hot tub was finally free, giving me a chance to experience my first hot tub soak. We jumped in and it started to snow. Cottonwood trees surround the grounds and with consecutive gusts of wind, thousands of whispy seeds were set free… covering the sky with snow flurries right into the pool and hot tub.
There’s nothing anyone can do about it. They’re trees, it’s an outdoor pool. (shrugs). We (and the few people in the pool area) finally surrendered at the exact same moment and went inside. Then I just ate some of the cookies from the breakfast room.

Just stayed one night and were surprisingly pleased. Amazing rooms for that price. Clean, nice beds, good aircondition, really nice breakfast and awsone outside area where you can sit and enjoy life.
