Holiday Inn Express & Suites Bishop

We had a nice stay. The indoor pool and sauna were nice. The bed was a little lumpy and the egg for breakfast was not very tasty, but besides that, everything met expectations.

I will never stay at a Holiday Inn again.
Room 215 on the second floor did not have a blackout curtain during my stay, leaving the parking lot light to shine very bright into my room. The front desk clerk stated there was nothing they could do. There was a sign in the room stating that if the hotel could not make the stay right, they will refund the money. Well, apparently this is not true if you book through
, per the manager, Therese. Holiday Inn express does not keep their word when it comes to making it right or refund the customer’s money. I have forwarded my complaints to corporate but am very disappointed in the lack of customer service in this hotel.
And also, the complimentary breakfast was terrible and very limited on selection. No bacon, just some imitation sausage patties and cold egg. Next time I’ll take my $ 200+ a night and spend it on a hotel that cares and serves better breakfast.

Good Grief! IT STINKS!
This place was not even clean. We moved the coffeemaker to find spilled coffee, not even wiped up!!! The countertop is quite small, should have been the easiest thing in the world to wipe it off.
But, that was not even the problem… the bathroom stunk to high heaven of urine!!! We asked the housekeeping staff to clean it, and afterward could tell there was a slight additional odor of bathroom cleaner near the toilet, but the horrible smell was still there. It was impossible to even go into the bathroom, not even to stay in there long enough to use the toilet or to take a shower.

Great place for a quick overnight stay! We arrived late on a Friday after driving up from OC. Front desk gal was very friendly and got us checked in quickly! Room was spacious with a little kitchenette! Large shower and cushy beds with great pillows!
Free breakfast in the morning, not just shabby pastries! Noooo you get scrambled eggs, sausage, biscuits and gravy! And those are just SOME of your choices! Food was yummy!
Great stay! We will be back!

I stayed here before reading any of the earlier reviews, and I’m really surprised at others’ experience. My wife and I stayed on Saturday, 7÷25÷15. The city was packed, it was hot and uncomfortable everywhere, and I was to say the least in a really bad mood.
We checked in early with no hassle. It literally took a minute. Our room was incredible. Clean, HUGE for the price, and smelled great. There were dishes, a microwave, and a fridge for use.
The shower has TWO shower heads. Everything smelled nice, and we didn’t see any stains that others have reported.
The pool and jacuzzi are indoor, and the place has a sauna and a gym. I guess my only discomfort was there is only 1 elevator, and it’s at 1 end of the hall. Our room was at the other end. OH NO, we had to climb stairs. That’s okay. We need the exercise.
The breakfast was great– They actually had biscuits and gravy, probably my favorite go-​to breakfast comfort food. Finally, we actually got a call in the evening to make sure everything was to our expectations. Very few hotels do this.
We are planning a trip again in the fall, and we will definitely be staying here if possible.

It used to be good but is run down and beds are being changed out with cheap beds that are hard as a rock. I had to use 30 000 points to stay one night! I contacted the GM about the issue and they said they will have her call me back and she never did. So I call back and still didn’t get ahold of her. So I call back again and she wasn’t there and got the well have her call you back. She never did! So I called the corporate and they talked to her and she said that she will call me back, and she never did! Worst night in a hotel ever!

All I can say is that it’s a place to crash. I stayed here on my way to Lake Tahoe. The non-​smoking room smelled like old cigarette residue. The carpet was stained and dirty. The rate reflects the limited number of places to stay. Not worth the $ 150. The rate should be under $ 100. The mattress was so soft and uncomfortable. The power kept going off at night and I was told it was because of the lightening going on outside. The worst night sleep bc it was so hot in the room due to power going in and off all night. Definitely a drive by. I’ve stayed at several Holiday Inn Express hotels and this one was below standard. I would never stay here again.

Clean and comfortable. Nice friendly service. Right in downtown. Great place to sleep, free breakfast.

Stayed on 12÷29÷14 on a trip through to Reno. Acceptable room, vending machine does not take bills and had to get water that was not cold from the front desk. Took a couple of cinnamon rolls and coffee back to room for breakfast and they were good.

Beware the cleaning chemicals. We both woke up quite sick from sleeping with them, despite the fact we had opened the window. This, after we had already switched rooms once due to the noxious smells in the first room. I would never stay here again!

Very friendly staff. They went out of their way to change our room for our dogs. We stayed in the suite and it was nice with extra room for the family and dogs. Spa tub was nice and hot free breakfast option was appreciated.

Completely exceeded all expectations and will definitely be my go-​to spot when driving the 395!
It’s always a guessing game with hotels at this price/​quality level… sometimes you regret trying to save a few bucks and wish you had ponied up bigger bucks for a better room. On the other hand, sometimes you find something that totally nails the value and expectations, which this location does.
Parking, location, customer service, cleanliness, comfort, etc.: Really could not have asked for more. Pet-​friendly, too!

I’m not sure what rooms you guys got. My room was really big and had a hot tub in it. I soaked in it and sipped on sweet tea.
The pool there is epic. The sauna and the jacuzzi or whatever that other pool is, also. Didn’t get to use them though. Did use the workout room. This is one of the best if not better holiday inns. It’s just too bad it’s a 5hr drive lol.

This hotel is seriously sub-​par. I’m staying here for the night traveling through town. First impression there are large signs posted all over the parking lot stating the business is not responsible for items stolen from cars. Then I get to my «pet friendly» room that I am paying extra for and I get a space with scratched and torn up walls, actual holes in one wall, broken curtains and water damage/​mildew in the bathroom. I’m not sure how this hotel has finagled a 3 star rating but at $ 130/​night + $ 25 pet fee, the Vagabond Inn down the street at half the price is likely cleaner and nicer. The fridge is maybe 5 degrees cooler than room temp and the toilet is so loud when it flushes that my dogs is afraid of it. I travel around the state regularly with my dog and generally enjoy good service and well appointed rooms at pet friendly hotels and this hotel does not even come close to meeting expectations. At least they don’t have bedspreads here.

This place is a dive. I’ve been told its the newest hotel in bishop. WoW! When the cleaning lady tells you, «you should complain and have them shampoo the carpets this is horrible» that’s a bad sign. I had to go to the market and buy my own cleaning supplies and give it a good once over before I even unpacked. That made me gross out even more.
You need to walk to the liquor store to get change for the washer and dryer because the front desk does not really have enough to do more than one load. The washer is small and does a crappy job of washing. Your better off going to the crappy laundry mat up the st.
The hallways seem to always be dirty especially towards the back. I guess they only clean once a day if that…
I suggest bringing an ice chest. The mini refrigerators suck.(mine was broken and took 24hrs to get a replacement)
The wifi is super slow… However it is free

I’m giving this 2 star because of their price. We USED to stay here EVERY single year we came through town, but now their prices are just ridiculous!!! Their not only high, their GOUGING!!! They wanted $ 167 a night for when we just went through Bishop, and that’s insane!!! I’m very disappointed in them. It’s Bishop here; not Los Angeles people! We’re even Priority Club members (the free member card you get from the holiday inn family of hotels), and even with that, there’s no discount! We loved this hotel and would say it’s the best hotel in Bishop, but at that price, you’ve ran us away! Go to the Creekside Inn across the street! There much more reasonable, also comes with a free breakfast, and is very nice and super clean as well. I’d pay $ 167 in Los Angeles or something for a holiday inn, but not for Bishop! Get real!

Not a bad room, mine was clean and quiet would stay again.

Great place to stay when travels through bishop. They also have free wifi. It’s also close to all the places within town. Walking distance to most restaurants and stores.

Room was good. Love that its pet friendly. Breakfast was better than most hotels offering breakfast. Loved the indoor pool and sauna. Staff was stellar

In general, my impression of Holiday Inn Express has always been positive. That is, of course, until I stayed at the one in Bishop, California.
The chairs were simply DISGUSTING. It looked like someone jizzed over both chairs. The floors had stains too, but the chairs were the most egregious items in my room. It’s like the hotel didn’t bother to clean it up. I felt like I was sleeping in a porn theater.
This hotel is considered a three-​star hotel on most travel sites, but it should be rated a two-​star hotel.
