Mathnasium instructors use our unique assessment process to determine (with great accuracy) exactly what each child knows and what they need to learn.

Next, we design a customized learning plan for teaching the concepts the student needs to master. It doesn’t stop there — our encouraging instructors continually check progress along the way to make sure kids truly understand and retain the concepts we’ve taught. Our instructors will also set aside time to provide homework help. We help kids understand the homework assignment so they feel better prepared to complete the work at home — underscoring their understanding of concepts and transforming homework frustration into a welcome challenge.

History

Established in 2013.

Mathnasium at Inverness Corners was opened in October of 2013. In the past years we have grown in the number of children we help. We have build a wonderful and skillful team of instructors that are ready to teach all level second grade to twelfth grade.

Meet the Business Owner

Gayle D.

Business Owner

Gayle graduated from Jacksonville State University, Jacksonville, AL, with a Master’s degree in Math Education where she also satisfied the requirements necessary to teach college level mathematics. In addition, she received the degree, «Administration in Education» from Samford University, Birmingham, AL. Gayle taught middle school, high school and college mathematics for 31 years. She was recognized as a «Highly Qualified Math Teacher» in Shelby County where she taught for her last 11 years. In the summer of 2012 Gayle retired from the Shelby County school system. Following a wonderful year of retirement, she heard a radio ad for Mathnasium, and was immediately intrigued. Her first reaction was «this ad was written for me!» Gayle not only loves helping students with math, but she also understands the frustration many parents feel when they realize their children are struggling with math. Having taught in public schools as well as doing private tutoring, she knows how well students
