Glory Bound Gyro Co.

Came here on a beautiful Saturday afternoon. Heard so many great things here so I had to check them out. Since it was such a beautiful day (67 degrees & sunny in the middle of January!) I took advantage and asked for a table outside.
The staff here was a bit overwhelmed. All of the tables outside were empty but still dirty. Once I was seated… I sat for about 10 minutes w/​o service or menus. So I went inside & grabbed my own menu. I came back to my table to wait another 5 min or so until greeted. What’s so crazy is it wasn’t even busy! My server finally graced me with his presence. I didn’t even bother to get his name I was just ready to order. Saw the sign for $ 2 mimosas so I thought hey, it’s a beautiful Saturday afternoon why not. Very generous amount of champagne & fresh squeezed OJ! For $ 2? OK! Now, I’m back in good spirits & ready to order. Where is my server? He’s lost again *sigh* He finally came back & I ordered the popular pepper jack gyro with fries. Got my comeback sauce that comes with it on the side.
Food came to the table at a reasonable time. Super soft warm pita bread, the beef & lamb combination shows in the flavor. I was pleased. Real Bacon which is a plus. However, I must admit I’m not a fan of the pepper jack cheese on here. Its too much of an American cheese type of flavor which doesn’t complement a gyro to me at all. I do like the hint of spice that pepper jack adds but next time I’ll just sub feta & maybe drizzle some siracha. The comeback sauce is good too. Seems like a mayo based sauce just FYI. The fries were OK. Thick cut & seems to be homemade. If mine were fresh I’m sure they would’ve been better.
Overall, this place is pretty cool. I love the location & food. They offer a few specials here too which I’d like to explore. The one problem from my visit was the lacking service. I will be back for another try… hopefully my next visit will be better!

My wife and I decided to go on a rare date, sans children. I have been wanting to try this place since they opened. I’m a gyro fan so I was excited. The visit didn’t disappoint. I had a pepper jack gyro and my wife had the specialty plate with a Greek side salad and two choices of hummus. She opted with the jalapeño cilantro and the spinach pesto.
We both really, really enjoyed our meals. The lamb was so tender and flavorful, the pita bread was soft and delicious and the hummus was outta sight.
The only thing I’d change is to get a different side. I’m not a huge fan of thick cut fries, but they were seasoned well.
We’ll be back without our kids again… soon I hope.

Hummus Trio for our appetizer. We tried the Mediterranean Olive, Sun Dried Tomato Pesto and Chipotle Lime. All were great, my favorite was the Mediterranean. Chipotle was wife’s favorite.
I had the signature Pepper-​jack Gyro. I highly recommend it. There was more meat than typically get on 2 gyro elsewhere. Very filling. With splitting the app and the gyro I only had a few of the fries.
Wife ordered the Greek Salad with Grilled Shrimp. Again large quantities. She let me try one of the shrimp and it was quite tasty.
No room for dessert, plus we were a little pressed for time to make our concert.
Will definitely be back. I wish it was closer to home or my office so I could become a regular.

I was skeptical when I suggested Glory Bound Gyro to the boyfriend, especially when he asked to see the menu before we left home! After reviewing the menu and Unilocal reviews/​pictures, he decided he could find something to eat and off we went.
We arrived around 5:30, and there were approx. 5 other people in the entire restaurant. We were immediately seated and asked for our drink orders. Our drinks arrived in large mason jars. Upon recommendation from our waitress, I tried the pineapple fusion signature drink. Honestly, it tasted like pineapple juice (no complaints!), but I couldn’t taste or tell that there was any vodka in the drink.
Having looked at the menu prior to arriving, I knew what I wanted to try: the Pepperjack Gyro with cottage fries. Wham Bham D&^%!! An amazing sandwich… loaded with meat and covered in that spicy pepperjack-​y sauce. It was admittedly a little messy to eat, so don’t go on a first date if you’re worried about keeping up appearances. Oh, and the bacon. Several pieces of perfectly cooked bacon. I pulled those out and enjoyed them separately. The cottage fries seemed a little overcooked and dry, BF got his covered in bacon and mozzeralla cheese — obviously the way to go. Didn’t try his surf’n’turf gyro, but I could tell it was also filled to the brim with steak and shrimp and that amazing sauce.
Overall a good expeience. Their HH is only Thursday-​Sunday, but even wihtout, prices were reasonable for the amount and quality of food. Will be back to try the hummas next time!
