Local Birmingham at its best. This is a jewel of a restaurant. Just try it! Classic, quaint and consistent. The new bar art gallery blend is perfect. The courtyard and massive sliding glass doors blend the entire place perfectly thanks to design by Richard Tubb. GREAT new menu items just hit this week and the Thai-​ish wasabi tuna will be the talk of the town. The staff is also amazingly orchestrated without notice! Great staff. Great atmosphere. Great food and drink. The entrees are huge. I ordered side rice that was very flavorful. The braised stuffed pork was incredible. It was a lot of food. This is coming from the guy who always cleans his plate. My date enjoyed her meal as well. Very cool place. Thanks

Quite simply the worst attempt at a chicken pot pie I’ve ever tasted. Gigantic chunks of dried out cauliflower, limp carrots and old peas surrounded by yesterday’s potatoes and a few bits of calcified chicken. No sauce. And a soggy piece of store bought puff pastry on the side. Shame on this chef.

The food is, without fail for every dish I’ve tried, far too salty. The inside temperature is around 90 which is why only the patio is the only comfortable place to be. Staff is a little too snobby for the lower end upscale casual place this is. One of them told me the local and grass fed claims on the menu are actually false. Won’t be back.

Not capable of handling a big party. Our good friend arranged for her 80^th birthday party there. The service and even some of the food were very disappointing. Most of the guests had arrived by 6:30. Our orders were taken shortly thereafter. SOME of us got our salads and appetizers after a long wait. We had to track down the waiter to find out where the rest were. My salad lacked dressing. The waiter promised to bring it. He did not. Then at 8:20, I asked the waiter what on earth was going on with our meals. He said it would be another ten minutes. Eventually the meals came-​in waves. That is a two hour wait for our dinner! And some of the meals were badly prepared.
Vino has been in the past one of our favorite restaurants. We had expected the usual good service and to be treated well. Instead, when there was a ridiculous delay, instead of doing something classy such as an apology and appetizers for the table, (the waitress did bring out some over oiled bread from time to time), we had to go track down the waiters to even get the food we did.
A further irritant was that several patrons came in after we did, ordered, ate, paid and left before we received our dinners.
Although I sent an email to the restaurant afterwards to discuss the bad service – and indifferent food – I have received no response.

Such romantic ambiance! We wished we had ventured there sooner. Vino has the most beautiful patio and interior, sharing space with an art gallery and tucked into English Village. The hostess and servers were attentive, knowledgeable, friendly – a real plus. We were seated at an open sliding door, a great spot! Delicious Mediterranean quisine. We shared a plate of hummus and spinach dip, followed salmon and a filet, all with a lovely presentation. My salmon was accompanied by asparagus, and a caprese salad, stacked beautifully. My husband’s filet was perfect.
I must say that everyone there seemed to be having a great night, as were we!
