MetraPark, is a multifacility events campus, the largest of its kind within a 5 state region. MetraPark is made up of the 10,000 seat Rimrock Auto Arena, a 6,500 seat grandstand, the 77,400 square foot Expo Center, the 28,800 square foot Montana Pavilion, a half mile track used for both horse racing and motor sports, and an assortment of horse barns and smaller buildings. Landscaped parks and paved, lighted parking comprise the rest of the site. Trade and consumer shows, concerts, family shows, rodeos, basketball, wrestling, figure skating, indoor football, livestock shows, banquets, business meetings, motor sports, festivals, and conventions are just some of the events hosted.
History
Established in 1975.
Completed in 1975 given the named the METRA, an acronym that stood for Montana Entertainment Trade and Recreation Arena. The naming rights were sold to Billings-based Rimrock Auto Group in 2007 and the arena now goes by the name Rimrock Auto Arena at MetraPark. It is owned by the city of Billings, Montana and Yellowstone County.
