Established in 1992.

Day spas have gained popularity through the years as individuals have, in response to ever increasingly busy and stressful lifestyles, desired increased opportunities for relaxation and personal pampering treatments. Additionally, the health care insurance industry has forced individuals to personally manage their medical care. With opportunity thrust upon them, many individuals have sought out alternative treatments such as wellness clinics and spas. This has spawned an entire industry complete with worldwide vendors, publications, conventions, etc. In June 1998 Elevations Day Spa was incorporated, and in August 1998 Elevations Day Spa opened new facilities at its current location.

I’m surprised this spa doesn’t have more reviews! I was skeptical at first, seeing that only about 26 people have written about Elevations. However, I was pleasantly surprised with the level of service and my relaxing yet strong-pressured hour massage for only $ 85. After my massage, they even offered me a heated neck pad to use while continuing my experience in their quiet relaxation room. I was given herbal tea, and I ended up spending a good 30 minutes just resting and reading there.
I had a great time here and would highly recommend to anyone who needs some R&R away from the slopes!

Nicloe is my favorite therapist! I have had massages for years, and her technique is subtlety different in a different wonderful way. Have a 9 minute Swedish and you will feel what I mean!

Not quite a real spa, very small and tight place, hubby insisted on checking it out since we had nothing else to do. He got a 90 min. massage, I got gel mani & pedi. There was no place to shower, not a good idea to get a massage if you ask me, he got all oily and sticky…
My nail tech was friendly, she was somewhat thorough, did an OK job. The gel colors were very pretty, very good selections, I always pick pinks!
Since it’s not like a real spa where we can use the facility for steam rooms or jacuzzi, shower and get ready, don’t think we will be back again. The service rates are a bit cheaper though. They use Aveda products which is nice, and they offer organic tea.

Great place!!! I confused the tine of my appointment, arriving 30 min early. They have s great quiet room, where I enjoyed tea and a massage chair. Irene was great! Had the best time visiting during my massage-never had that before!

My fiancé and I came in for a massage and I have to say we both think this was top 5 massages of all time. We get quite a few massages. Also, there was a storm and we could not get a taxi home and the owner gave us a ride in his truck in traffic and would not accept any money for it. Wow… this is unheard of these days. We will always come here when in Big Bear. What a gem.

Amazing massage! My wife and I have been to most of the spas in town, and Elevations is by far our favorite. We’ve seen Chelsea and Patricia multiple times and we won’t use anyone else now. The new location is easy to get to (just behind Walgreens), super clean, and very relaxing (obviously a huge step up from their last digs at the beat up gym). Would highly recommend them to anyone; you will not be disappointed!

My husband and I have been coming here for several years almost every time we’re up in Big Bear. We get hour and a half massages each time. Like another reviewer, I think the rooms could be darker, which could be solved by black out blinds. Other than that, my experience has been perfect each time. Deborah is amazing! And Rita, who I had today is just as amazing if you like more pressure, which I do.
It’s a resort area which means you’ll pay more than those Chinese places that do your massages on the cheap, but really, you get what you pay for. Who wants to feel frustrated during a massage, even if you’re only paying $ 45 for an hour. It defeats the purpose of relaxation! The management hires the therapists, so when you get consistently great massages, you know they care about their client’s experience.
The spa is clean and quiet. I’ve gotten a lot of massages over the years, and I don’t believe you can do better than Elevations while up in Big Bear.

We were in Big Bear in February for a family getaway weekend. Three of us girls headed to Elevations and got Swedish massages. While the place is small, the service was really great! We were offered tea or water when we arrived (the Aveda tea they serve is delicious). Each of us had incredible massages. When were done, we were led to a small waiting room and given a heated pad for our shoulder and allowed to relax for as long as we wanted. It wasn’t anything fancy, but it was very relaxing and pleasant.
The $ 85 price tag is more than fair. It will be a tradition for us to go back each year. So glad we found Elevations!

My massage was good, but the facility is not worth the $ 85 price tag. The massage room is too bright. For $ 85 I expect showers, scented candles, whirlpool, relaxing room, cucumber water, SOMETHING… They should not charge more than $ 45.

My husband and I had a great experience here. We got in for a couple’s massage like hours after I made a reservation and they had no problem getting us in and comfortable on time. The women who did our massages were super friendly and very knowledgable on massage techniques and stretches. I came in with a sore shoulder and left feeling so much looser and totally content. They were truly sweet women– both telling us all about the town and fun things to do in the are (as this is our honeymoon vacation) My ONLY qualm (and reason for 4 and not 5 stars) is that the businesses hour massage is really expensive. Not to say that either of the ladies weren’t worth every dime– but $ 85 for an hour with no extras is pretty pricey in my book. Plus I wanted to be sure they both got an excellent tip for being so amazing to both of us.
Other than price– we thought this massage spot was phenomenal!

I really liked this spa. First, I walked in without an appointment and they had my feet in a tub within 30 minutes. The view was really nice from the pedicure seat and Linda did a great job on my fingers and toes. The price was reasonable and the staff was friendly. What more can you ask?.

My own personal experience was marvelous! The staff was polite, the spa was clean & very calm.
The massage tech was kind enough to
explain, to me as she messages different parts of my body, which muscles she was messaging & why.
Next, onto my facial which was informative since I don’t wear ANY FACE MAKE UP BECAUSE MY SKIN IS SENSITIVE. The tech recommended a sun screen which they sell there so I bought it and I’m glad I did because it works & it hasn’t irritated my skin. :)
My friend & I are planning on going back to Elevations once a month.

The only Spa to visit while in Big Bear! All of my visits have been amazing. I have had facials, eye brow tinting, pedicures, and massages at Elevations. When you arrive they put a warm body wrap around your shoulders and offer you tea. The front desk is friendly and the therapists are awesome. I think Elevations has some of the best massage therapists. Rita and Kathy are my favorites, request them for sure!

Do NOT go here for hair or makeup! I was given information on this location as a recommendation from a friend of a friend of a friend. Well, bad recommendation. I made a 2 hr appointment for a «wedding up do practice run», I drove the 2+ hours one way to get here, then all she did was fluff my hair and say «yea, I can do it». When I asked about actually doing it, she wouldn’t, that’s not what this appointment was for, I’d have to make another appointment.
Next came the makeup… not horrible, but not so great. Not to mention if you have fairly sensative skin like I do… I’m now breaking out like crazy 2 days later. I don’t know if they use cheap makeup or what, but this was an all-around bust. They may do great at massages or facials or whatever, but NO HAIR OR MAKEUP!!! Not to mention when I called in to ask for another appointment, one of the first things out of the receptionists mouth was «well, you’re more than welcome to try other places»…huh!!! At least the owner was mostly nice and somewhat reasonable… but unfortunately, from this ONE expierience, there will definately not be a second!
