Bay Meadows Resort

We rented cabin 126 a studio room. Room was very clean and charming. Queen size bed, microwave and fireplace. We were in town to attend a concert in The Village and had planned to walk from our cabin. Although it was only a little more than a mile from the cabin the road was heavily traveled and with snow along both sides we decided to catch the bus to the concert. My husband went to the office to inquire about the bus schedule as there was a stop directly across the street. The on site owner, manager told him that he would gladly take us to the Village. Talk about service! Wonderful place to stay in Big Bear Lake. We will be back.

What a nice place to stay!!! Eva and Tony where very nice upon chech in and check out. The place is very clean and comfortable. Really liked this place and for sure will stay here again whenever we go back to Big Bear.
We got room 108, a cabin with 2 rooms and 3 beds. We fit very comfortable a family of 5 (2 adults and 3 children). It has a full a kitchen and 1 full bath.
Very close to attractions and places near the city.

Wow I rented cabin 104 for 2 nights and it was absolutely fantastic, very clean from the bed to the jacuzzi, my girlfriend and I enjoyed our stay in big bear mainly because bay meadows was a single mile from the village. Finally, Kevin at the front desk was polite and charming. Loved this place and will 100% come back

We stayed here the day after Thanksgiving 2015, and it was a snowy day! Eeva and Tony were very nice. I loved talking to Eeva, she tells you all the information you need:) I loved everything about the room that we got (123), it was a one bedroom with sleeper sofa in the living room. It looked exactly like the pictures they have in their website. It has a cute little hallway that separated the bedroom, the cute bathroom –very good and hot shower (much needed for the snowy weather) and the walk in closet. I loved the kitchen, with full size fridge, oven and microwave, fully equipped. I just wished it had a bigger dining table for the four of us but I can’t complain… Everything was lovely. The price was reasonable, booked it on Expedia, and it was a good deal for a holiday weekend. Yes we would definitely stay here again someday and in the winter. Our kids loved playing with the snow :)

My second stay here and I’m a bit disappointed that the quality was not as it was a few years ago.
Beds are very soft (old mattresses) that we barely slept. Bath tub curtains are really bad and smells, and for the price we paid ~$ 200/​night we certainly could get something better.

Amazing! The room was adorable, clean, and had a great vibe. Heater worked fast and the staff was incredibly nice, they even admired our snowman! Will definitely be back

Super clean! Super nice this will be my place at big bear from now on. It has fully stocked kitchen and awsome window views. 2 bedroom cabins available and single room ones also. Friendly manager lives on site.

This was a last minute trip here. We called and booked on the phone and have never been to Big Bear. We are so glad we stayed here. The cabin was great, had all the kitchen stuff we needed and a working fireplace. The owners were great. Friendly and accommodating. They have a nice firepit and BBQ they everyone shares.. I was out trying to BBQ in the dark and they came out and turned on a light and gave me some BBQ tools.
Place is clean and close to the lake and town. We will be back! The owners also are knew of all the events and happenings in town and gave us a map and directions. Highly recommend this place. Can’t wait to come back this winter in the snow.

We stayed in cabin 121 which stood alone, the cabin was very clean with fresh white linens on the bed. Kevin at the front desk was very sweet and very helpful with whatever we needed. The only downfall to the room was the bed, it felt like we were sleeping on springs or rocks and the room could use a ceiling fan to make it a little cooler at night. Aside from that I would definitely come back, and recommend this place.

I couldn’t expect more from a little inn near Big Bear Lake. Clean, comfortable. Our cabin was detached, which was great. Fireplace, jacuzzi tub, and kitchen all in the main living area, plus a master bedroom suite. Dishes, pots, pans, cooking utensils, oven, stove, microwave, fridge. Firewood for sale in their office. And everyone was super helpful and friendly. We absolutely loved it and could have happily stayed much longer than the two nights we booked.

I’m so glad we stayed here on our first visit to Big Bear. Room availability and booking online is a major plus. Parking is plentiful, and for me, adjacent to our cabin. The jacuzzi tub was wonderful, and there is enough hot water to fill it, and then some, unlike other cities where I’ve stayed where the tub seemed ornamental.
it’s a nice quiet place good for families with kids.

Clean, no weird smells anywhere… beautiful pool area, jacuzzzi and Finnish Sauna. They allow pets in some rooms, and you would not know because of how clean the rooms are. Eeva, the owner is from Finland originally and remodeled this whole place with high quality details. The property is spectacular, with exquisite views and you can also see and walk to the lake. Plenty of room outside to run around, play… can park your car right outside the unit. Has wireless, so I could work from my cabin… could stay here a week or two and relax while working from the cabin. Its a couple mins from town, which is nice, cuz you dont have to deal with crowds when youre there3.
Room Tip: All great views in the roooms. ADA rooms… have great rooms for disabled people who are traveling…

Nice little cabins near Big Bear Lake. A short walk from the parking lot will lead you toward a clearing which is next to one of the lake inlets.
Cabins themselves are pretty nicely kept. Very clean inside. No issues with hot water or bugs or mold. Check in was a pleasant experience. Kitchen had some utensils in it, and I think it had cooking stuff as well.
Parking was convenient, although if you have multiple cars and it’s crowded that day, it might be an issue.
Small issues:
— Heater is inside the living room, so it takes a while for the heat to circulate through the entire space
— Wi-​Fi doesn’t really work if your cabin is far away from the others
— Wood flooring can be slippery
I booked online through Expedia and was charged a $ 20 online booking fee. I was told that you can avoid that by booking directly through them.

This place is great, just one issue… The beds are like sleeping on rocks they are so hard.
With that being said, we stayed in 104. Very clean and all the comforts of home.
The spa tub in the living area was great! Could watch college football while luxuriating in a tub.
The owners and staff are very friendly, helpful and welcoming! We got there a few hours early and they were nice enough to allow us to check in early.

We rented cabin 125 for the weekend, and it was exactly what I expected. When it comes to accommodations, I look for a bed with white sheets and a white comforter. Otherwise, how will I know that the sheets are clean? I scoured Unilocal for an affordable cabin that had white sheets and a white comforter, and Bay Meadows was one of the few that offered both items.
When we arrived, we were greeted by a friendly female and male. They were both very helpful and gave us a map of Big Bear Lake and told us about all the big events happening that weekend. We had no idea that there was an Oktoberfest festival, so we were very grateful that the manager was knowledgeable about local events.
There’s a swimming pool and sauna at the resort; however, I didn’t use either one so I can’t comment on the quality of the experience. There are several grills and picnic areas on the property, so feel free to bring your own food for a BBQ!
P. S. They have Tom’s toothpaste! Gentle on your teeth and your gums!

OK… I am really hesitant to put any reviews about lodging facilities, because these places depend on personal preferences and dollar amount.
Bay Meadows Resort is hands down the best place to stay in Big Bear. This place doesn’t look that nice from outside; however, each unit is nicely decorated and very clean. I am very picky about selecting a place to stay. I could not find a decent place in Big Bear. This was one of reasons that I don’t spend a night in Big Bear.
This is neither Four Season nor Ritzs.
I enjoyed staying at this place & the price is very reasonable. Stay here if you want to spend a night in Big Bear and not paying too much!
BTW, our room was 105.
This unit has been newly renovated with new flooring, granite countertops & new furnitures.

Stayed here, this past weekend — Saturday night — in Cabin 124.
For the most part, I really enjoyed this place.
The staff was very nice, and they call in the early evening to do a check to ask if there is anything you need.
Staying here in the «off season», AKA not Winter, it was a bit warm.
The cabin was mostly clean, there were a few things on the floor I stepped on after taking off my shoes, and there were quite a few bugs on the top of the windows in the kitchen… that I never would have noticed but due to the weather, I wanted all of the windows open — to get some air in the place.
This cabin has a wood burning fireplace, that we used, even though it was warm. There is a refrigerator, however it was turned all the way down… so anything we put it there didnt really get cold for a while.
We had neighbors in all three cabins that were part of this four cabin building. They were all quiet, which was nice. This cabin is across from the pool as well. Made me wish I had a bathing suit with me.
In the evening, I noticed some ants in the kitchen — we did not have any food out, so that was a bummer… and there was no bug spray.
I guess I will just list some Pros and Cons for Unit 124:
Pros:
Cozy place for two (Maybe too crowded with 2 children as they suggest)
Cute little deck out back
Quiet
Woodburning Fireplace
Very friendly staff
Fridge /​Microwave /​Hairdryer /​Toaster /​Coffee Maker
Cons:
One side of the sofa is missing the cushioning in the back part, so its awkward to sit on one side of the small couch.
Very warm in the Summer — no fans in the bedroom
Even with all windows open there is no cross breeze
No bug spray for the ants we had
Bathroom window was broken, and would not prop open
I would stay here again, just possibly a different cabin, and if its during Summer, I will bring a fan for sure.

Just the Facts:
1 bedroom cabin with large stone fireplace, completely remodeled, while still maintaining some «cabin like charm» by way of partial wood flooring and beautiful wood ceilings and the big bonus of no old stuff and no musty smell.

We had our own private parking spaces to the right of our cabin, a nice porch to gaze out at the partial lake view and I saw a chipmunk! They really are very cute. There is a centralized area with benches, swings, trees, tetherball, bbq’s and even a stone fire pit. It’s a very short walk to this portion of the lake and a fave place to walk pups!
The prices are not expensive, but not cheap and you have to pay the annoying city bed tax and resort tax, but you will find that everywhere. Dogs are welcome at Bay Meadows and I believe it was a $ 10 per pet per day stay, very reasonable. Maybe my next malamute can come with and enjoy all the splendor. Early am:

Hôtel terrible. Aucune isolation entre les chambres, on entend tout: chasses d’eau, télé, éternuements, la route… Il est impossible d’y dormir après 7h du matin. Le chauffage manqué aussi à l’appel, il fait froid dans les chambres et très froid dans les salles de bains qui né sont pas chauffées. Le wifi est inexistant. D’après le personnel il n’a jamais fonctionné. La note est très salée, les chambres sont louées plus de 130 $ la nuit pour un service qui né le vaut pas. Il y a beaucoup mieux à Big Bear.
