DiBacco’s Service Center

This place is about as honest and fast as I can find. Parker is the man to speak with regarding any estimate and service.
I brought my 2010 Prius for new brakes/​rotors and got a fair price.
Then after that got fixed I brought in my 2001 Acura MDX, which needed all new brakes and rotors. They called me in the morning and had it done by midday almost, very fast service with fair pricing. I’m not gonna say it’s cheap, but it’s honest and great work. I would never trust anyone else with my cars.

Great job and excellent service! I brought my car in for minimally a state inspection and an oil change but knew that I needed more done. They were able to fit everything in same day including repairing a leak and brakes. I was very pleased and I will be making them my go-​to place for car service.

I have a 2004 Toyota Corolla engine light that would not turn off and even the dealership that I purchased the car from said they couldn’t guarantee that they could find the problem.
Dibacco’s service center had a couple of attempts at it and finally solved the problem.
Both the owner and the general manager were cordial and contacted me to see if the new Toyota part they put in was working properly. Unfortunately, the first one didn’t and they told me to bring it back in and they got a new part and that did the trick.
I would highly recommend Dibacco’s Service Center for any of your auto repair needs.

Chose DiBacco’s entirely on the basis of its Unilocal reviews and was not disappointed. Had my daughter bring in her ailing, ancient Passat which had a problem with the oil pressure. Parker replaced a gasket and sensor — it wasn’t cheap, and we were hoping against hope that would be the end of it. However Parker honestly advised it might be time to move the car along to another owner. Sure enough, the next week the ABS system went. He was able to diagnose it but said we’d have to take it to a dealer for full evaluation. We sold the car that weekend. Thanks, Dibacco’s — we’ll be back when she buys a new vehicle.

We just started to go there based on referral of a colleague at work. We have been happy and their prices are obviously much less than the dealer and more convenient. They allow you to drop off early and call with your estimate. To date we have brought two cars there for problems ranging from AC/​Heat issues to steering issues. We have been happy and would recommend.

I have been going to DiBacco’s for several years, and have brought different vehicles there over the years. I have always found them to be incredibly honest, direct, and helpful. I am a female in my 30s and the prime candidate for someone in an auto shop to rip off… I really have no idea how my car works and therefore it would be very easy for them to upsell me in certain areas. Thankfully, they have not (although I have experienced this many times in other places…) They inform me of items to pay attention to, and are consistent with their reminders, but not overly pushy. You can tell that they are honest people who pride themselves on good customer service. They also usually take care of me, even if I walk in without an appointment and have twice in the last month filled my tires for no charge, due to all the pot holes I’ve been hitting this winter. For their continued consistent service and friendly attitudes, I will continue to visit this shop in the years to come.

No matter how many positive oil changes and gas fill ups I’ve had at DiBacco’s, dishonesty (or just being wrong, to give the benefit of the doubt) when it comes to car repairs earns this place one star.
We brought my grandmother’s car here to have some diagnostics run and a few repairs done so it would pass inspection. We were told the problem was the alternator and a fuel injector, and that it would cost about $ 800 to repair to pass inspection. We made it clear that we JUST wanted repairs done that would allow it to pass inspection, and we were also told the fuel gauge needed to be working to pass (it doesn’t).
After the diagnosis, we took it to Ryal Side Auto for another opinion, and found out that the alternator was fine, and that the fuel gauge was not a necessity for passing inspection. We paid they money at DiBacco’s for the diagnostic tests ($ 50 maybe?) just to get the car back and haven’t been back since. In the end, we saved $ 300 by taking the car somewhere else.

After starting a new job and moving, I was on the hunt for a new mechanic. Several coworkers recommended DiBacco’s, as their prices are very reasonable and it’s walking distance from my office. From the first time I brought my car in for an oil change, I’ve had nothing but positive experiences. The staff is always courteous and friendly, and they remember who I am and what I drive (which gets them huge points in my book). They fix my car FAST, and they’ve been totally up front with me about the costs of repairs, as well as what I need to fix and when. I can’t recommend DiBacco’s highly enough.

Really nice people work here! I brought my car in because my wipers weren’t working. They had been installed wrong, so Dibacco’s put them on properly, so they worked, and then didn’t charge me. Wonderful service. I will always bring my car to Dibacco’s to be fixed.

It was my first experience at DiBacco’s — and it was a great one. The service was friendly, and they got me in and out. Plus no annoying up-​sell conversation, which is an incredible bonus!

I have a three-​year-​old pickup with around 40,000 miles. Whenever I need an inspection, I bring it to DiBacco’s. When my truck needed an inspection sticker this year, I began hearing a clunking noise from the front end. I figured I would bring the truck in, have it inspected, and let them tell me what the noise was. To my surprise, the truck passed the safety inspection with no problem. The following day, I called DiBacco’s and asked how much it would be to have someone look at my truck and tell me what the noise was in the front end. I was told it would be $ 45 and would be refunded if I had the work done there. I left the truck off with them the following day. They called me later that day and informed me they looked at the truck and found several problems. They said it needed front sway bar links and lower ball joints on both sides. Cost of repair $ 923. Also needs front brake pads and rotors, cost of repair $ 474. It seemed very odd to me that the day before, when I had the truck inspected, the ball joints were not an issue. For those of you who don’t know, ball joint inspection is one of the major points to the Massachusetts vehicle safety inspection. It also seemed very odd to me that a truck as new is the one I was driving, needed ball joints. Ball joints typically last over 100,000 miles. I’m a 60-​year-​old man, and have been repairing my own vehicles since I was 17 years old, but no longer care to, especially in the cold, outside, in the winter. I decided to inspect the ball joints myself. I could find nothing wrong with them. I then brought my vehicle to another repair shop and ask them to inspect the ball joints. They could find nothing wrong with the ball joints either. While I was inspecting the ball joints, I looked at the front sway bar links that I was told it needed to be repaired because there were broken, and found the only problem to be the nuts holding them in place had backed off and were loose, allowing the sway bar to make the clunking sound. So I took five minutes of my time and my wrench, tightened up the nuts, and road tested my truck. Lo and behold, all the noise from the front end is now gone, saving me $ 923 in needless repairs. Although the front brakes could have gone at least another 5000 miles, I decided to do them myself anyway. This repair took me less than an hour, and the parts were under $ 100. A savings of $ 374. I believe DiBacco’s attempted to fleece me out of $ 923 and over charge me for a front brake job that could have waited. Do not believe in anything DiBacco’s service station tells you is wrong with your vehicle. You may want to ask them why they are no longer located in Ipswich.

Great service. I am a USCG licensed ship Captain and licensed engineer. I brought my new Ram 1500 in for its first oil change. Knowing exactly what kind of oil and service it needed I asked if they knew what the truck needed? Within seconds the guy behind the counter told me what it needed and said they could get in right then. 20 minutes later my truck was finished. Oil changed, windshield washer filled and even all tires were filled to the exact tire pressure as I have a screen showing the pressure in my dash. No nonsense, no «you need this, you need that» BS. ALL for a great price and fast professional service. I will defiantly bring my truck back in a few months for my next service.

I had a bad experience here. They supposedly repaired my engine after it had already overheated to the point of frying the head. They charged me $ 600+. I drove about 2 – 3 miles towards I-​95 and it broke down. They should have known before working on it that it was no good and needed a new engine. My ignorance about cars didn’t help me any but their dishonesty really irked me. I brought it to another shop that told me the engine was fried as soon as they checked it out. They didn’t pretend that there was anything to salvage or repair. I don’t know what DiBacco thought they were repairing.

horrible people!!! they act extremely nice and greet you, never a long wait but they screw you ! they are known to screw older people and woman !!! do not bring your car there! they told me i needed new ball joints and it would cost 1,000 went to my uncle and another station for a second opinion and there was nothing wrong at with my ball joints! both stations told me that they were fine and they don’t understand why they would ever tell me that.
also a fellow employer there has told me they are known to cause damage to your car while getting just a typical oil change or inspection so you come back to have it fixed!!!
never ever will i go back or recommend anyone to these people

DiBacco’s is a no-​nonsense, no-​drama garage. If you’ve been to sketchy garages where that slight wiggle in your suspension turns into a huge repair job, you won’t find that here. They do good work at a fair price, with great customer service. If you’re going there for an inspection sticker though, avoid Saturday, as they are only open for a few hours and may not be able to fit you in.

I am a loyal customer. I have tried other places but have been ripped off. The owner and mechanics are honest and very nice to deal with. Everyone is so friendly. I recenlty had an estimate at another place for work that needed to be done to my car. They quoted me $ 1200. I took it to DiBacco’s and paid $ 700. I cannot say enough about this place and I send all of my friends and relatives here. It’s nice to go to a place you can trust. They make their money the honest way which is why they have so many repeat customers.

I had never been to DiBacco’s until I needed to get my car inspected. I just saw them as I was driving by and pulled in and they fit me in without an appointment. They were very courteous and efficient with both me and the other people waiting in the waiting area.
As was said in the last review, the guy at the desk seemed to know everyone and was really nice and seemed to genuinely care about his customers.
As I said, I’ve only had my car inspected here, but the staff was great, and the other customers who were there picking up their cars all seemed to be very satisfied. I would definitely recommend this place.

Everytime I’ve had to get my car inspected, I’ve brought it here. And, everytime I do, I see the guy at the desk being greeted by regulars, people who see him much more than on an annual basis. He’s chatty but doesn’t overdo it and they actually seem to have meaningful conversations (i.e. «How’d your mother’s surgery go?» «I was sorry to hear about your cat.» etc). Makes me wish I came here all the time.
When it comes to your car, he’s to the point and isn’t pushy about having his garage do any of the repairs. I know a bit about cars, not enough to comfortably do engine work, but enough to feel that, even though I’m young, he didn’t treat me like I was an idiot. I’ve gotten the run around at other garages before (Who hasn’t??) and have never felt like I was getting taken advantage of here.
