News flash Jim: there was no agreement with me through the State. They simply suspended your license because of my complaint, and several others before it. Mine was just the last straw. You were ordered to return my fee by the State. I made no agreement with you, and you quite obviously can’t prove otherwise because it isn’t true. All a matter of public record.
With regard to our date in small claims court: you may recall that the Magistrate had ruled in my favor, but my deposition had two dates transposed, and that forced him to dismiss. You were so gleeful I doubt you will ever forget. You got lucky.
Further: despite your vague and flaccid threats today (that were reported to Unilocal) I will not remove my review. You will need to improve your service and professionalism and, you know, DO YOUR JOB, and if you can manage that then my negative rating and the others like it will eventually be outweighed. That’s the way it works.
Happy Anniversary by the way. It’s now been 10 years since you screwed me, and your rating still sucks. Why is that Jim?
Edit: Jim is now emailing my former employer and making threats. My review is factual, all a matter of public record in fact.

What do you say Unilocalers? Shall I remove my negative review and let you all take your chances with him? Yeah, I didn’t think so either.

I’ve recently used Jim. I have mixed feelings about him. He was thorough during the inspection, and answered my questions along the way. However, he was really slow in sending me the written report (it took more than 24 hours). He does not take pics also in his report. I requested him to take pics, but he told me he just doesn’t do it. I tried to call him several times, and went straight to his voice mail each time. My voice message was also cut off because there was not enough memory left in his recorder. He never called me back. After 24 hours, I got a «preliminary» report, and told me more comprehensive report would follow later, but never came. He misspelled my email first time sending me the preliminary report; so I am guessing he misspelled it again when sending me the comprehensive report. His aol email also rejected many of my emails (I guess his mailbox was full, and that’s kinda weird these days since you don’t see that too often). But he pointed out several problems with the property, and summarized them enough in the preliminary report. Overall, his professional opinion helped me, but I don’t think I will use him again if I have a choice. I have a feeling he couldn’t keep up with all his clients.
Updates (08÷07÷13): I never received his comprehensive report that he claimed he would send me. He did have my correct email as I corrected him.

Jim is as good as it gets. He is honest, meticulous, and complete in all aspects of his profession. Detailed reports which are also readable and concise at the same time. Highly recommended, whether you have a single condo or an entire apartment complex to be inspected.

Jim Abram performed a home inspection for my first single family home. He spent about 3 hours and was careful and meticulous as he walked the property. Not only did he point out major and minor issues but he also offered potential solutions and estimates for what contractors might charge to resolve them. At times he would stop and analyze areas of concern quietly, mentally gathering data before presenting his theories and ideas as to why things in the house were the way they were. He was always open to questions, stopping frequently to make sure we understood everything he was talking about. Fortunately he didn’t find many large issues with our home and gave it an overall good grade. He delivered the written home inspection report the next day. His inspection was way above and beyond what Tiger Home Inspection provided at my last home. I would recommend him to anyone. He doesn’t just give an inspection, he gives you an education about your new home.

Jim is a very careful, meticulous and thorough inspector very familiar with the money pits, also known as new england housing market. He ran few home inspections for me over the years and his fee is a bargain compared to the problems that would’ve been overlooked without his supervision.
Much recommended, good service at a reasonable price

Jim Abram did an inspection on my Cambridge condo. It was my first home inspection so I don’t have much basis for comparison, but I thought he was fantastic. He was like a hawk, pointing out small details such as a brick on the chimney that he estimated would fall out in 3 – 5 years. He was also very good at explaining things to me, as I had little knowledge of home repair issues. He offered practical suggestions on what I’d have to do to fix things (like adding a specific type of valve to a pipe, or stuffing a small hole with steel wool to keep rodents out). After he left, both of the buyer’s and seller’s realtors commented on how long it took, which may have been annoying to them, but to me it made me feel like he did a really thorough job, and I felt confident that he found everything that needed to be found (one year later, still no surprises).
My only complaint is his delay on delivering the full report. He took brief notes during the inspection and gave me a copy at the end, and said he would type it up in greater detail by the end of the day. While his notes did cover almost everything, it took several phone calls and a couple of weeks to get the full report, which ended up not saying much that wasn’t in the notes. I think he probably forgot a lot of the details over those two weeks, as I did.
