White Diamond Funeral Services

My dearest dad passed away on August 23, 2015 (last week). My siblings and I didn’t know where to start in regards to funeral arrangements. All we knew was that his wish was to get cremated. Someone suggested that I call White Diamond Funeral and to contact LaRuth Wright. I honestly feel she was heaven sent. She walked us step by step through the memorial service including floral arrangements, prayer cards and choosing of urn. She was also able to work with my father’s life insurance company so we didn’t have to pay out of pocket. This was certainly a BIG help for the family.
LaRuth also assisted with giving us ideas for the reception. My dad was always a happy person so the goody bags for guests was a hit! Many guests said the goody bags was a great idea. It helped to make my dad’s funeral memorable.
Up until the day of the service, I was calling LaRuth early in the morning until really late at night. LaRuth always returned my calls on a timely manner.
LaRuth, thank you for your help on my dad’s arrangements. You made a difficult situation, a positive one with all your help!

Very disappointed with the service we received from LaRue. We went with «White Diamond» on a referral from a mutual acquaintance in spite of the fact that it seemed like there wasn’t a lot of information on the company.
1.) The first price she quoted us did not include half a dozen «fee’s» that were later added in.
2.) She did not meet us at the crematorium as planned (after rescheduling the viewing twice,) so the crematorium did not have the paperwork they needed to continue. Of the information she had managed to give the crematorium the final resting place was incorrect so I will have to apply to have that changed.
3.) She was also supposed to pick up the payment during the viewing at the crematorium so after she bailed on us there she said she’d come pick it up from the house, but she had «something come up» and had to reschedule.
4.) Finally the death certificates come in (these are very important as you can’t start settling the estate, or accounts without them.) First she says we can pick them up with the remains at the crematorium, then for some reason that can’t happen so we schedule a time for her to come drop them off at the house. Morning of she has another «something come up,» so she can’t come drop them off. Instead of making new arrangements with us, she decides to send them using next day certified mail. You have to stay at home all day to sign for certified mail, and the Friday it was supposed to arrive I had two meetings 40 miles out of town which I couldn’t simply reschedule on a whim. End result here is that I did not receive the papers until almost a week after I expected to have them.
I understand that sometimes things happen, but my time is valuable. I would have been more than happy to drive to Beverly Hills to pick up the papers on Thursday.
5.) Initially she informed us that she could file papers with Veterans Affairs and Social Security to receive my fathers death benefits to help off set the costs of his cremation, but it would take 6 – 8 weeks to receive reimbursement. Now 6 weeks later she says I have to file the papers to even see if he’s eligible. Would have been nice to know that 6 weeks ago…
Losing my father has been hard enough, and the extreme lack of professionalism, tact, and respect demonstrated by LaRue has made the last six weeks considerably worse.
