After 10 years of putting off getting my wisdom teeth extracted, I finally decided it was time. I wasn’t having pain or discomfort but I want to get Invisalign and I knew this was the first step. I consulted with two other doctors before deciding on Dr. Polyakov. He took X-​rays just as the previous doctors had but unlike the other two doctors, he suggested a ct scan and boy, I’m glad he did! From the scan we learned that one of the teeth was wrapped around my nerve. I couldn’t believe the other doctors would’ve gone into the surgery blind. Another tooth was so impacted that there was a possibility of a sinus infection. My other two teeth were also impacted so this wasn’t going to be an easy surgery. I appreciated Dr. Polyakov’s thoroughness from the initial consultation and felt confident he could get the job done. As you can imagine, I was extremely nervous on the day of my surgery but Dr. Polyakov and his staff made me feel at ease. All I remember was falling asleep for what felt like 10 minutes. When I woke up, I was sitting in a recliner with my husband staring at me. I woke up giggling and trying to text my family and friends about how it was over already. The recovery wasn’t bad at all. Strong pain medication usually upsets my stomach so I was able to get by on Advil. I was back to normal (minus some swelling) after just 3 days. I’m so happy to have found Dr. Polyakov and cannot thank him enough for his experience & professionalism.

Amazing doctor who genuinely cares and takes extreme pride in the excellence of his work. Very warm and knowledgable staff that make you feel important. Highly recommended.

I was recommended to Dr. V by my regular dentist as I had an excruciating pain in one of my wisdom tooth that was just coming out, since I been putting off taking the teeth out, so I figured I might as well kill 2 birds wt one stone, in this case 4 teeth one doctor. This was two years ago So I guess this review is long over due.
I went in for my consultation this was when they were in the other office, pretty basic. They take some xray, you see Dr. V he tells you what he thinks is the best option for you. Personally I fear any dentist office so I asked a lot of questions, and he was more than helpful. At the time he also discovered I had 3 extra tooth in my lower jaw. I asked him what he thought was the best option he said it was a ⁵⁰⁄₅₀ chance if it didn’t hurt I could leave them alone but ultimately my decision.
So I said Doc just get this 4 wisdom tooth out for now! I went through the procedure, was swollen for a week some pain, and that’s it. You’re back like new.
Fast forward to now, I decided I wanted to get braces (at my old age, you figure) but in order for the braces to work I needed to removed those extra teeth. I was nervous, bc it was nothing like removing wisdom teeth. Nevertheless I knew the only Doc I would feel at ease to do the surgery would be Dr. V.
But for my own peace of mind I did seek a second opinion (less expensive) honestly it was a waist of my time. The doctor basically said he did not feel confident enough to do the surgery, as he was concerned he would damaged my nerves.
In the other hand Dr. V was very confident that the surgery would turn out fine. I was explained every possibly outcome, so I was prepared for the worst. Nunbnes, and the possibility of my nerve been damaged. I guess the fact that his well experience on this kind of procedures I felt comfortable the worst case scenario would not happen. Went through the procedure, he extracted them in 45 mins, it was less painful than getting all 4 of my wisdom teeth removed.
I Started my invisaling and I am a very happy with all the work his done for me this past 2 years. Can’t thank him enough, for such an amazing job. And all the staff they are very helpful & friendly.
Sadly and hopefully I won’t need any more work done, but Ultimately I would recommend Dr. V to all my family & friends. Don’t hesitate because you read one bad review with 3 star’s, give him a chance and he would delivered the best.

I came to Dr. Polyakov and his respected team to preform 4 impacted wisdom teeth removals.
I was professionally greeted and elated to find an fast appointment (1-​week) by their excellent staff.
The environment is above all other dental offices i’ve been to and they prove they have knowledge and experience on all levels.
The procedure was quick and painless and I also felt that they gave the care and attention to make a fast and easy recovery.
I would recommend this place to my family and friends.

I first met Dr. Polyakov amid a terrible dental phobia when I was 18 for emergency removal of my top wisdom teeth. He was still at his old office. I remember him being very brusque and curt, but in my experience a lot of older Russian men are like that (and at that point I couldn’t care less if he were Hitler, I just needed to get this ish done!). While I was asleep, he had pulled my teeth and cleaned out my sinuses and resulting infection. The whole ordeal plus sedation cost $ 1000 cash. In and out. Great, right?
Fast forward to 2015. My phobia has only gotten worse with age, and for that reason and several others, I had allowed my neglected teeth to basically fall apart. After my front tooth broke, I had no choice but to face the music. I needed 12 teeth extracted and two front implants placed immediately by Dr. Polyakov, and restorative therapy in a few others teeth, to be done by Dr. Aaron Schwartzmann, a protodontist. Becuase of the huge scope of work and my phobia, it was decided that I would go under and both doctors would work concomitantly to do everything in one sitting.
Day of the pre-​op consultation, my mother and I entered the white, cold, sterile marble palace that is Dr. Polyakov’s new office, Synergy. The two models at the front desk saw how panic stricken I was and basically made their amusement obvious when I ran outside to puke after watching the fucking big screen TV for 30 minutes playing a video of dental implants while waiting for the ever important and pompous Dr.
Dr. Polyakov was still the same. Gruff, self important, curt and only addressed my mother despite the fact that I was the patient. He basically dismissed my phobia as me being a pussy and hurried through the consultation by ignoring my concerns. I really didn’t appreciate his obvious disapproval of what I had allowed to happen to my teeth, and the last thing I needed was the judgment of him and his bimbos.
Day of the surgery, my parents drove me to Dr. Polyakov’s office. I have suffered with trichotillomania which, for those of you who aren’t naturally fucked up, is stress related skin picking and other similar self destruction, my whole life. My arms and legs are covered with little scars and marks, some very deep and below the skin, this invisible to the naked eye. Also, I’m not what you’d call skinny, so my veins do not pop out on the surface, especially when dehydrated pre-​surgery. The anesthesiologist took one stab, then two, right into a fucking scar and then threw up her hands in defeat. While I was right there, she referred to me in the third person and audibly told the doctor that I had no veins. Dr. Polyakov took my arms and made that «tsk tsk tsk» noise while shaking his head, looking at me with disgust and pity. Frustrated and feeling judged and helpless, I suggested that they try the veins in my feet, since there is no fucking fat or scar tissue there, and guess what… Got it on the first try! Minor miracle, doctors!
Surgery was succesfully over some 5 ½ hours later and I am wheeled out to my parents, who are white as a sheet. It looks as if my mother has been crying for hours. Later that night, she explains that when Dr. Polyakov and the anesthesiologist came out mid surgery, they informed my already worried parents, with no prompting, that I WAS A FUCKING LONG TERM IV DRUG USER and had no veins.
I was appalled and outraged. First of all, I am almost 30 years old, and I am the patient. My parents were just there to drive me home. They are not my guardians or next of kin. What fucking right did these two supposed professionals have to go and scare the shit out of my parents by divulging false, unverified and PRIVATE health information? It is absolutely illegal, and they violated my right to doctor patient confidentiality based on their quick judgments of the state of my mouth and my other scars and such. They baaically told my parents I was sick despite knowing nothing and asking nothing of me, the patient.
Now imagine my parents surprise that I was fully functional and denied pain meds the day following surgery. My mother saw my progress and relaxed a bit, but it has taken me months of swearing up and down, offering to take drug tests and explaining what happened in there to get my parents to stop worrying. I am a responsible adult, and Dr. Polyakov’s judgmental slander almost demolished the trust I had spent years building.
Do yourself a favor and and don’t give this sadist and his bimbos your money. We paid cash up front, and the surgery still cost 40% more than other places. Don’t pay for his marble floors and his blondes… God knows if you do, he may show you his gratitude by violating HIPAA law, breaking confidentiality, and passing judgment… and reward you by telling your loved ones, with great certainty, that you are HIV positive because you’re looking a little pale, in his professional opinion.

Synergy and Carissa are all super heroes! I booked my wisdom teeth apt through a doctor who ended up not taking my insurance so I had to find someone last minute since I had already taken work off. Carissa made the process so incredibly easy, I didn’t know anyone could be so helpful! Paperwork etc was so easy thanks to these lovely ladies!
Dr. Polyakov and his staff made me feel comfortable even though this was my first major procedure. The x-​rays and procedure went so quickly and the day I had my surgery I had no pain at all and mainly stuck to just Advil. Since my body was recovering I was certainly tired for a couple days after the surgery, but barely any pain. They gave me a thing to hold the ice packs they gave me, to my face and a cute care package filled with ramen noodle and oatmeal! Would recommend Dr. Polyakov and the office to anyone and everyone!

Had my wisdom teeth removed by Dr. Polyakov recently and I couldn’t have asked for a better experience. I had been putting it off for as long as possible, but after waking up in extreme pain, I figured I’d have to get them removed. I called the office on a Monday at noon and got in for a consultation an hour later.
The removal was quick and relatively painless. It was my first time going under anesthesia (I was stressing) but it ended up being a smooth experience.
The staff are all great, very friendly and accommodating. They made the entire process so easy… I’m forever grateful!
Great office, very clean and aesthetically pleasing. Parking was really the only issue. There’s valet directly underneath the building but it’s very expensive.
Overall, I would 100% recommend Dr. Polyakov and his team at Synergy!

I’m the type of patient who fears walking through a dental practice…
Today, all four of my wisdom teeth were extracted. The moment I sat in the chair, DR Polyakov kept cracking joke after joke and even spoke of his children for a moment. I’ve never said this before, but my entire experience was surprisingly pleasant. He shared plenty of smiles and laughs, I really just felt comfortable. His entire staff also share a similar joyous persona, also incredibly attentive, patient and caring.
Before I knew it, the procedure was done. I’m very pleased with his work and highly recommend others to trust in his work. You get what you pay for!

5 stars to the whole Synergy team! I can’t say enough about Dr Polyakov and his team… I had to have my wisdom teeth out and was terrified… My friends had bad experiences with Oral Surgeons, long periods of pain and swelling. I had consults with multiple oral surgeons but on the advice of my co worker went Dr Polyakov and i’m so thankful that I did. The office is amazing! Carissa and Nicole, up front are super helpful. Leslie was very caring and nurturing. Dr Polyakov was fantastic, with great bed side manner and he is an absolutely amazing and skillful surgeon. My surgery went easily, quickly and was almost pain free. Will highly recommend Dr Polyakov and his team to everyone!!! Thank you Synergy once again!

I had all four wisdom teeth and one of them finally started to hurt. My dentist recommended Dr. Polyakov. Making the appointment for the consultation was easy. I found a 2-​hr free parking structure a couple of blocks away. Lana was the one who basically explained the procedure to me and answered any questions I had, which wasn’t much as I didn’t know what to ask. But she was very sweet, reassuring, and helpful. During the consultation, I spent maybe about 10 mins. with Dr. Polyakov himself. He showed me the panoramic x-​ray of my teeth, explained the risks, went into a little more detail of what the procedure entailed, and showed me a short animation of the procedure. I then received an estimate on the costs. Due to my work schedule I was only able to make my appointment for a month later so they weren’t able to prescribe me the pain medication or antibiotics yet, but was told I could drop by the office the week before my procedure.
I basically got contradicting information regarding the prescription from the various front desk ladies I spoke with over the phone. One person told me one thing and the other told me something different. It was getting quite annoying. I wasn’t about to pick up my antibiotics and pain medication after my procedure when I was loopy with gauze stuffed in my mouth. When I went to the office a few days before the procedure, the lady at the front desk was clearly confused. She didn’t know whether I was to receive antibiotics or not and had to wait for someone to come look at my charts. Like, the front desk staff are not well trained or informed of the protocol when it comes to procedures like wisdom tooth/​teeth extraction.
Aside from that, the staff was friendly. Nika, who is the office manager, was also very pleasant. I asked for my panoramic x-​ray to be emailed to me and she did so right away. On the day of, Dr. Polyakov got caught up in some terrible traffic and she came to apologize to me numerous times. The surgical assistant that day was Priscilla and she was so fantastic! She went over everything with me, i.e., when to take certain medications, side effects, cleaning instructions, things to do to reduce swelling or make me more comfortable, etc.
It was over before I knew it and they sent me home with a goodie bag filled with a bottled water, written instructions for the after care, extra gauze, and a packet of instant oatmeal. I also got a head wrap with reusable ice packs.
Overall, I was happy with my experience. Priscilla took me downstais in a wheelchair and made sure I got into the car just fine. They will expect your ride to drive up to the building although there is no street parking out front.
FYI, even though this place is posh and right smack in the middle of BH there was absolutely no pretentiousness and they don’t try to charge you an arm or a leg. I have insurance, but it didn’t cover the whole thing so I wanted to shop around as price was a bit of a factor for me too. I got a second opinion from a very modest looking place in W LA and they wanted to charge me over 2x what Dr. Polyakov was going to charge.

I wish I could give Dr. Polyakov (and everyone at this wonderful office) more than 5 stars. An experience that everyone describes as painful and terrifying was anything but. Everyone was very kind and caring, and prepared me properly before and after the wisdom teeth surgery (including hugs, which I desperately needed immediately after the procedure). I could go on and on about everything that I loved about my experience and still never fully convey how much warmth I feel for Dr Polyakov and his whole staff. Put your mind at ease and get whatever delicate oral surgery you need done here! You won’t regret it.

I got my wisdom teeth pulled there 4 years ago. They pulled all 4 with only laughing gas. They all healed cleanly and had no pain.
Everyone in his office is super nice. Very professional. The only time my crappy dental insurance paid a bunch of the procedure. Highly recommended.

I was in the LA area and had an emergency with my tooth. Luckily for me, I was referred to Dr. Polyakov and his wonderful practice. All the staff were extremely friendly, professional and accommodating, considering the fact that I needed a last minute appointment. I was very nervous being in an unfamiliar city and needing dental work, but Dr. Polyakov eased my worries, took care of the issue and had me on my way in no time. I would highly recommend his practice, you’re in great hands!!!

This is my first time writing a Unilocal review. Let me just say this — My experience with Dr. Polykov and his staff was my BEST medical experience of any kind that I have had EVER! Seriously, I was floored! These people really care about customer service.
All the staff are very friendly. They greet you with a smile right away, shake your hand, introduce themselves, look you in the eye, make jokes. You get the feeling they are all trying to impress you. The office is super clean and modern. In the waiting area there is a tv screen that shows different animated dental operations (was interesting).
I went in for a consultation (had already having seen another Oral Surgeon, who I decided not to go with) re. the extraction of my four wisdom teeth. Dr. Polyakov was very thorough explaining everything. Helpful videos were shown so I could understand the procedure, and I was given a mirror so that he could show me things in my own mouth. He answered all of my questions. I did not feel rushed. He went through all the potential negative issues that could occur (and talked about what I am more or less at risk of being affected by). Then we went through what my insurance would cover, and they had this all straight.
I went ahead and booked an appointment for a few days later! I picked up my prescription pain killers and antibiotics at the pharmacy downstairs so that I would be all prepared for the day of.
On the day of the extraction, I went in, was quickly shown to the room where the surgery was to be done. Priscilla went over (again) what I should do after the operation (they gave me a paper that outlined when I should take which medication, she reviewed this another time after I came to). Dr. Polyakov came in, greeted me warmly, started the drip, and… I woke up and it was all done!
That night, Dr. Polyakov called me to make sure I was ok! Because I was leaving the country a few days later, I returned to Synergy for a FREE checkup — the stitches were removed and I was instructed on how to clean the area that was still healing (they gave me a mirror and I watched as they showed me how it is done).
Two weeks later, when I returned to LA, I had another FREE checkup, where Dr. Polyakov made sure that everything was healing as it should (which it is). They insisted that if I felt any discomfort or thought it might be infected, I should come in again, no charge.
Ladies and gentlemen, THIS is what medical attention should be in this country. I would not hesitate to recommend Dr. Polyakov and his staff.

Dr. Polyakov is an amazing oral surgeon. I had my wisdom tooth taken out and the entire procedure from start to finish was painless and quick. The nurses were extremely sweet and helpful. I didn’t need to take any paid medication after surgery and I didn’t have any swelling :) I was at ease knowing I had a specialist performing my surgery!

Dr. Polyakov is an amazing and highly experienced and caring doctor. He did my husband’s wisdom teeth extraction without a hitch. 2 wisdom teeth pulled and very minor swelling. Dr. called several times to check on my husband.
The office is modern and ultra high tech. The staff is warm, friendly, knowledgeable and well-​trained. The cost is reasonable. The location across from Neiman Marcus is perfect!!!
PS. My husband liked the bedside manner and the DR. even gave him some great tips on wine and cooking!!!

I had my wisdom teeth extracted by Dr. Polikov. I couldn’t have had a better experience. The staff and the Dr. Were so kind and made me so comfortable. They eased all my fears of getting my teeth extracted.(I was extremely nervous) the procedure went so smooth and I was under so I didn’t feel a thing! Dr. Polikov did an amazing job and he even called me later that day to make sure I was doing okay. After the novacaine wore off there was minimal pain. I would highly recommend him to someone else.

From the beginning w/​a consultation to the day of my son’s teeth extraction Dr. V. Polyakov and his staff were amazing! They made my son and I feel at ease. The girls were extremely patient and comforting w/​my son. Dr. Polyakov even went as far as calling us that evening (friday night) to check-​up on my son. We’re very happy w/​the overall service.

I was referred to Dr. Polyakov to have my bottom wisdom extracted, and I am thankful that he got the job done. To anyone who is in doubt, I highly recommend Dr. Polyakov and his staff.

My experience with Dr. Polyakov was not the best one. I even posted pictures of the outcome which the office called me to remove because it was «hurting their business». I didn’t remove them and they went to Unilocal to remove my pictures, and Unilocal did.
I needed to get my wisdom teeth extracted and after hearing about how painful of a procedure it is, I wanted to make sure I went to a great doctor. After doing some research, I found Dr. Polyakov. I saw on Unilocal what great reviews he had, and how many of his patients were amazed with how painless their procedure was, so I decided to give him a try. My greatest fear was experiencing the pain since all four of my wisdom teeth were impacted, so he would have to perform surgery on all of them. Also, I was worried about how long it would take for the swelling after the surgery to go down since I had to go back to work after a week.
Dr. Polyakov was very nice, he explained the procedure fully and answered all my questions. On the day of the procedure I was put to sleep, and once I woke up the procedure was over, it seemed like it happened so fast. I didn’t feel any pain, and once the anesthesia had worn off I was still fine. I was swollen and had a bruised eye, I also had a cut on my cheek, which he explained was an accident that occurred during the procedure.
The swelling took two weeks to go down, but the bruised eye lasted OVER A MONTH !! The procedure caused a blood vessel to rupture inside my eye that made me look horrible. I was under so much stress since I had to go to work and I had a horrible bruised eye and no way of hiding it. I was very disappointed in the outcome of the procedure, because I did not expect to have a bruised eye out of it after all the wonderful reviews he received. To top it off I went to my doctor to see if there was something I can do to get rid of the black eye and when asked what had caused it, my doctor said that wasn’t a normal outcome. I wish Polyakov wouldn’t have had Unilocal remove my pictures so you can see the outcome.
