The Peninsula Spa

This is the second time I’ve been back for their couples massages. Two words: mind blowing!!! Jessica & Karen are the best yet they we have had the pleasure of being massaged by. Their techniques are elaborate. Today Karen gave me a Hot Moroccan oil head massage, which was amazing in releasing my migraine tension.
They spoil you here with personal locker rooms, tea, ordourves and catering to your every need. I will be back

I love The Peninsula more than any other place in Los Angeles and I will stand behind them because they deserve every one of their five stars. The spa is no exception. Yes, it is expensive, but you get what you pay for. This is the best hotel experience in the Los Angeles area, bar none. I don’t particularly like LA. I actually kind of hate it, but I would come just for this hotel. And I would never leave.

My spa time at the Peninsula Hotel was good, but not the best. for the price of services I would expect better experience. Spa itself specious, clean and nicely decorated. Relaxing massage was ok. Worse one time experience.

I went to get a massage today. The service was excellent and the changing area is clean and beautiful. They offer hot ginger tea and muffins after services– wonderful touch. After we returned to our room several hours later I realized I forgot my white gold tiffany necklace in the locker room. Guess what? The stuff is so honest that they turned it in and the security just delivered it back to my hands. I can’t be happier!

I’ve got to give the Peninsula three stars. It was a nice experience, but not the best. I frequent a lot of spas while traveling and I can tell you this is not the best, but it’s good. I got a very nice massage and had a genuinely nice interaction with Jeff my therapist. He was a really nice person and that shined through his massage as well as the general ambience of the session if that makes sense. The front desk staff was very «yes maam, no maam», polite and perfectly professional and couteous, but nobody showed you around the facility or took you into the locker room, etc, which I thought was a little weird, for a spa facility of this caliber, that’s something I’ve come to expect. Also the rooms were a little cold. I guess what I would say is that the place itself was beautiful and everything LOOKED right, but the warmth and personality that would make you feel really welcomed and relaxed was not. Still, I appreciate the hard work my massage therapist did. Oh! The prices. The prices were very much overpriced, even for a top level spa. That was unfortunate because I would have actually had a couple treatments but the pricing just didn’t sit right with me on principle, so I only got the massage which I felt I really needed regardless of the price. If you have money to burn I could certainly think of worse places to do that.

I love The Peninsula Hotel, and their tea time is amazing and elegant. I was pretty thrilled to get the chance to try out their spa. It’s pretty spacious as you step in. Very clean, calm, the staff were friendly and helpful.
The Women’s Locker room was real nice. A few bathrooms, a small locker room area with vanity filled with small toiletries and blow dryer. The basics of what we Women need to get beautified :) The steam room was real small, I would say a tight squeeze of 4. I was by myself so I just laid down and enjoyed the hot steam. Nice refreshing cucumber water as you step out. Ladies make sure to get hydrated as much as possible if you go in the steam room.
The lounge area is Co-​ed. Very relaxing and a zen like feeling. A few chairs with a small private sitting area in the back for 2. There were some complimentary drinks and snacks. I ordered there coffee and it was surprisingly real good. I got a 60 min massage and my masseuse was great. I told her my problem areas and that I needed to get rid of all the knots. She was friendly and attentive. The 60 min felt like 30 because it was so relaxing I never wanted it to end. She also gave me a few options of what lotions or oils I wanted. I recommend the Lavendar.
Overall great experience. Pricey yes, but honestly you can find a great Thai massage or any other massage elsewhere for half the price. however it is a nice experience to have once in your life.

Lovely massage. Lovely SMALL luxury facility. Steam room is perfect for 1 person, 2 people tops if you know the other person.

BEWARE: They charged my credit card on file for an appointment when I had just called to inquire about availability, never actually booking. When I discovered the charge, I called the manager and she argued with me, claiming that I confirmed the appointment. WHAT? I’ve never experienced such horrible disregard for the customer! I disputed the charge through my credit card co. and it just came back denied b/​c the audacious staff at the hotel claim that I was there, and signed a receipt, when in actually, I was enjoying a lovely afternoon at the far superb BEVERLY WILSHIRE SPA.
So deceitful and outrageous.
They’ve completely lost my future patronage and have inspired my very first Unilocal post!

I had Tamera this weekend for a Swedish message and it was heavenly! The facility was small but intimate and the service was great. The spa gives you this wonderful ginger honey tea, it’s incredible! I would highly recommend.

Excellent Spa. It is a sweet escape, and they let you stay in the spa area all day even if you just book a waxing.
Great Brazilian wax, and good masseuses. There is nothing worse than paying all that money for a massage and all they do is pour oil on you, not the case here. Had a great experience and I hope to revisit soon!

a $ 200 massage should be done a better way~won’t go back~

I’ve been to roughly 20 spas throughout the past few years and I’m accustomed to getting a massage on a weekly basis. I have to say for $ 200 in Beverly Hills, I was expecting something more impressive or at the very least decent. The massage felt like touching with no technique. The women’s facility was so small and I felt rushed out of the facility after my service. For $ 200 I can go to a more reasonable spa for a much better and more beneficial service to fit my body’s needs.

I have decided that it is NECESSARY to my well being that I go this spa at least once per month. Today was my first time and I am hooked! I got a hot stone massage from Anne and a manicure from Jeannette. The locker room is clean and has amazing eucalyptus steam rooms that I never wanted to get out of. there is plenty of cold water, cucumbers, etc and magazines to read. No jacuzzi, but thats not that big of a deal. My massage (hot stone) was FANTASTIC. I felt like a new person after. And my manicurist was really sweet and did a great job. $ 120 for a gel manicure is a bit steep, but 50 for a great regular one is a good deal. I was blown away, can’t wait to go back next month! (Oh yes, and I forgot to mention I was supposed to go yesterday and had to cancel last minute because of an emergency, adn the staff was very accomodating about waiving the cancel fee and rescheduling me for the following day. Not sure if they usually do this, but since i truly had an emergency i was super grateful. Vanessa at the front desk was so sweet.)

I LOVE this place! I am a local. I have been going to this place for over a year now, and I will tell you as much as I know. You certainly get what you pay for and more with this spa. I go to Sudie (Soodi) for facials sometimes, Farah for nails, and Tara for massages. They are the best at what they do, and I LOVE them all. If you want a pampering facial, Sudie is the best… from everything, from start to finish with amazing facial massage. Please take my word, take the 90 minute facial, if you can splurge and have the time, instead of the 60 minute. You will thank me for it later on that one. My skin has never looked better. I just tried waxing with Sudie for the first time. I have not been disappointed yet. All nail treatments are fabulous with Farah. Spot on perfect polish application every time. Tara gives amazing massages. The place is spotless and clean, and it smells heavenly with those violet candles lit. They certainly live up to the Peninsula standard. Do not be embarassed to ask what the prices are first, I do. And don’t be shocked, they are high. Also, Helen, the spa director, is fabulous and is easy to talk to if you have a question, compliment, or complaint. The customer service is stellar! You can’t go wrong with this spa. EVERYONE is talented and so nice. This Spa is worth every penny!

I received a gift certificate from a friend. This place is just out of my budget. Anyways, the experience itself was amazing. You can park on the streets for free for two hours or at a meter. However, you run the risk of a ticket if you’re getting a lengthy service, like a massage or facial. To my surprise, the Spa validates for valet service. You only have to pay $ 8, instead of the $ 35 standard fee. I must admit it was a little daunting to pull my car up amidst all the BMW’s, Mercedes Benz, Bentley’s, Rolls Royce’s, Jags. You get the idea. The valet guys were very polite and made me feel like a VIP. Thank you! It’s a little trick to get to the Spa, but the hotel staff is more than accommodating. A gentlemen actually escorted me there. The Spa itself is beautiful and so relaxing. I swear the rooms are sound proof. It’s hard to distinguish the doors from the walls, because it’s all in this smoky glass. I almost got hit by a therapist exiting the room. No big deal. She was super nice. Everything leading into my massage was wonderful. I felt like Eddie Murphy’s character in «Coming to America». All I needed was some rose petals. The Massage: Wow!
Mary Barragan was my therapist. From beginning to end, a complete professional: Courteous, nice, knowledgeable. I felt as though my massage was tailor made for me. She has a unique style that allowed me to surrender immediately. Many therapists start working on your back. Mary started at my feet. I asked, «Why this departure from the norm?» She repiled, «I like to move circulation upward and through your whole body.» I swear, after 15 minutes, I was out. When all was said and done, I didn’t want to get off the table. All of my tension was completely released. Thank you Mary. You are a massage therapist rock star!

My massage (by Alma) and my facial (Sudie) were the best I have ever had! Alma almost has a sixth sense, and can feel your energy to determine where you are having problems. I had a big event to go to that evening, and my face looked fabulous after Sudie finished with it! She recommended the special eye treatment combined with the oxygen facial, and it was the perfect combination. I will definitely ask for these women when I return.

This is a spa that lives high up to the Peninsula Standard! Ask for ‘Lissethe’, she is nothing short of perfection, from her earthy warm disarming personality to her detailed informative walk through of whats she’s doing and why… Perfectly perfect… and the eucalyptus steam room??? FORGET ABOUT IT, 5 Diamond all the way.

I really liked the Peninsula Beverly Hills Spa, ultra luxurious! Their women’s lounge area has modern lockers, all the locker amenities you would want like hair band, cotton, mouth wash, hairspray, hair dryer. You get a robe to wear and slippers and as many towels as you want to use.
There’s a smallish eucalyptus steam room that I swear I was the only one to use although I saw about 15 guests come through the lounge. There is fruit, almonds, cucumber water, Fiji water, hot tea. There are all the new magazines from this month.
The lounge is pretty small, two bathroom stalls, two showers, two lounge chairs and maybe 10 lockers and one vanity area. But very nicely appointed with pearlescent blue tiles and marble. The serenity lounge waiting area is more sizeable, 4 lounge chairs and a private cabana-​type are with magazines galore and blankets.
The staff are super sweet. I had a facial with Luba and she’s great! Very calming and gentle, Asked if I wanted her to suggest products instead of pushing them on me. Then she got me tea and a little pastry after the facial! The checkout desk people are so-​so. my checkout lady was not too busy, so she took her time with me and was really sweet. The girl who checked me in just pointed me in the direction of the locker room even though it was my first time there, so I had to search for everything by opening doors. She forgot to give me an intake form and I filled that out after the visit. That is the one star off as well as for smallish facilities.
Check it out if you have the cash to spare!

It is small, but nice. I love the Violet candles they burn at the front. So soothing. It’s like an oasis in there. You can buy the candles so you can have a little Peninsula at home. The girls at the front are really sweet and they always remember you.
If you want a facial or want the most beautiful brows, ask for Sudie. I’ve been going to her for almost 10 years. She is the BEST!
If you want a great massage, ask for Alma. People say she has a little bit of a 6^th sense, because she is EXTRA in tune with your body. You’ll have to book with her to get what I mean.
It is pricey, but it is absolute luxury.
