The Carrabba Group

We chose Monique and Joe Carrabba over a couple of other well-​qualified realtors. Ultimately, we went with the Carrabba’s because we’ve known them since moved to Pic-​Fair Village. Through their volunteering and participation, they are very much part of what makes this a great community. Since we were moving out of the country prior to the home going on the market, we ultimately decided they would be the ones we could most count on to represent our needs locally.
What we weren’t expecting was the marketing genius of these two. Not only did they make sure they house was staged beautifully, but they got the word out in every way imaginable. The sheer amount of foot traffic in the first week was incredible. Also, taking their advice, we ended up with multiple offers, which turned out to be a huge deal. They managed to over-​deliver without over-​promising, which is all we could ask for.
Joe and Monique are good people, and you would do well to have them on your side.

Joe and Monique are awesome. It really was a pleasure working with them. They are super responsive, on top of it and always thinking 2 steps ahead, and negotiated hard for us. We looked at numerous properties yet Monique and Joe were always concerned that we would find the right house that we loved. There was no pressure and they walked through the entire process with us like we were their only client.

6 Months, 50+ open houses, 100’s of emails and one failed offer later; Monique and Joe stood by us and we’re happily in the home we set out to find.
I was a first time home buyer and after research and recommendations from contacts in the real estate industry my girlfriend and I decided to work with the Carrabba group because of their reputation and experience in the area we were interested in buying (Mid City).
After taking a few weeks to gauge our taste Monique and Joe understood what we were looking for. The market was overheated, but we stayed patient and waited for things to cool down a bit and eventually found a home that was a perfect fit. Monique and Joe are very attentive and answer emails within an hour or two, they’re patient and most importantly they really know the city and current market conditions.
The only critique I have is that I would have liked them to be more aggressive in the negotiation stage of the deal. I know this is LA and in current market conditions (early 2015) sellers have the upper hand, but I expected a little more guidance at that point in the sale. However, that’s just my perspective and I was in a position where loosing the deal would have been ok.
Overall I would recommend using the Carrabba group and would use them in the future. They’re open and easy to work with and tell it like it is. No nonsense.

Can’t say enough great things about Monique and Joe. They are #1 in my wife and my book! Joe and Monique sold my wife’s home and helped my wife and I buy a new one. It’s hard to know where to begin. My husband and I interviewed a number of realtors to sell our first house. Monique and Joe Carraba of the Carrabba Group called us back no later than 15 minutes after we left the message on their voicemail!
They came the next day with a wire bound collection of comps for houses in our neighborhood, examples of their advertisements and more information about them. They were likeable and knowledgeable about our Mid-​City, Los Angeles neighborhood. They blew all other realtors out of the water.
We had an ambitious timeline and they made sure we were on target the whole way! Over the next few weeks they handled every detail to ensure that the house would sell, appraise, and that any potential buyers could have no wiggle room to negotiate a lower price! Plumbers and handymen were a phone call away for them! My husband and I had a busy schedule, but Joe and Monique made themselves available to ensure the odds and ends were done! Seriously these folks are pros!
They has a professional photographer and stager make our home look incredible. Afterwards they created a unique website for our house! No seriously! They mailed everyone in our neighborhood alerting them to the open house. They scheduled a brokers open, and after one open house, we had TWO offers: one all cash at asking, the other solid and over asking price!
We were new sellers and they made things so easy for us. That comfort and ease of selling our first home was priceless. Do yourself a favor and choose to do business with these awesome people.

Monique is the most caring and patient real estate agent anyone could ever ask for. Although Monique knew I was not 100% sure of what I wanted or that I would actually be able to buy, she still took me very seriously and always made me feel like a priority. If I told her I liked or didn’t like something about a place, she would always note that and make sure to show me proper places accordingly. She did all the leg work for me. I did not have to search the MLS for hours and tell her what I wanted. Instead, she would call me often and suggest places to see. If she was ever not available for me, she would make sure her husband Joe was. Joe is equally pleasant to work with as well. Monique and Joe give it all to make sure their clients are happy and satisfied. I would highly recommend Monique to anyone looking to buy a new home or condo.
On another note, I recently bought a place from another realtor (a friend of a friend, so I felt obligated). I don’t want to get into that experience here, however, I can really tell you Monique is like a sunshine with a very positive and caring demeanor.
I can not tell you how much I regret not using Monique again this time around. I will definitely use Monique for my realtor for future real estate purchases and sales.

Unresponsive and unprofessional.
I contacted Monique via email on a Tues evening around 8pm to inquire about an appointment to view one of their property listings for the next day, with a preferred window between 11:30am-2pm. It wasn’t terribly late in the evening, but I try to avoid phone calls at the risk of intruding on personal space/​time outside of usual work hours and figured that email allows someone to respond at her convenience. I can certainly understand that last minute showing requests may not be accommodated, but at the very least would have expected a response.
Not having received a reply, I followed up the next morning with a phone call at 10am. Went straight to voicemail. I finally received a phone call around 11:45am and we coordinated a viewing for that afternoon at 3:30pm. Monique had reviewed her showing schedule and very specifically stated that there was an existing appointment at 3pm but I could come at 3:30pm.
I’m never late, in fact I consider 15min early to be on-​time. I arrived at the property early enough to have a chance to scout out the block, even talk to two neighbors about their thoughts about the neighborhood. While speaking with one of them, I saw someone leave the house, who I assumed to be the 3pm appointment. Of course I wouldn’t think of interrupting someone else’s appointment slot. Imagine my surprise when the door was locked and no one was at the property at 3:25pm.
I called Monqiue 3x and got voicemail 3x, though I left only one message. No response at all. You would think that someone who has a scheduled appointment would at least have her cell phone on. I waited about 20min and left. It took me 1 hour to get to the property, not to mention rescheduling some afternoon appointments (I’m a physician).
As I was driving back to my office I got an email from Monique at 4:25pm, in response to my email from the previous evening. Not sure if she made the connection that I was same person who she stood up. She had time to email back, but no time to return a phone call for a missed appointment?
The next morning I got a message from her husband Joe, the other partner in the Carrabba Group. He explained that there had been a «miscommunication» between him and Monique and that he didn’t realize there was an appointment at 3:30pm. Perhaps the 3pm appointment cancelled and he was the guy I saw leaving the house. He offered to schedule another viewing appoint, but I have no interest in wasting another 2.5hrs of my time.
In any case, not honoring appointments and not returning emails or phone calls promptly has been my experience with this team, which I find to be hugely unprofessional and disrespectful of other people’s time. Hopefully they will not be the listing agents of other properties that interest me in the neighborhood.

Having bought and sold many homes, I have never worked with a team of this caliber before. Their attention to detail, marketing savvy, responsiveness and integrity puts them in a class of their own. I have been represented by The Carrabba group as both a seller and buyer and have always felt like they worked very hard and effectively for me. Recently they represented us in a complex transaction and their combination of real estate knowledge, great negotiating skills and finesse resulted in a successful closing for us, and the seller of our home. Thank you to the Carrabba Group for a job well done!
