Sophie Wax

Arina is super sweet, personable, the place is very clean, and smells amazing. When it came to the wax though it was pretty brutal. I’m still burning down there hours later. Never had a wax like this. The 2 places I usually go to were both booked so I decided to try her. My skin is raised and red and it was the most painful wax I’ve ever gotten and I’ve been getting waxed since 2007. Just not for me.

Sophie Wax is absolutely amazing. I recently moved to LA and was looking for a new go to wax place and this place definitely is it. I purchased the first time client Unilocal deal for $ 34 for $ 44 (which is how much a brazilian is there). So worth it! I’ve never found such a reasonably priced wax place with such quality, cleanliness, and service. Alina is extremely friendly and personable. She really cares about your experience and your care for your skin after your wax. She told me that if I had any bad reactions or had any follow up questions that I could reach out. I highly recommend going here and I definitely will go back.

I would give this place 5 stars, but the wax did not react well to my skin and left me scabby :(I’ve been getting waxes for a while now so no, it’s not a first timer sort of reaction. I normally react fine to hard and soft waxes. But for some reason my kitty was just not fond of this wax :/​BUT I still want to give a shout out to this business for being extremely professional in addressing my issue. Here’s the story:
I started scabbing up and it was extremely uncomfortable to walk the day after my first wax here so I called and left a message asking for some advice. No response. It went away eventually so I forgot about my voicemail tbh. Then when it came time for my next appt, which I had booked that same day I got my wax, I got a reminder text in advance. I let Arina know that I would like to cancel my appt because my skin did not react well to the wax and that I had left her a voicemail asking for advice but she never got back to me. She apologized immediately and offered my money back or the next wax to be for free. Can you say 5 stars just for how she addressed the issue? Since I didn’t want to risk my skin reacting badly again I said I’d rather have the refund. She asked me for my address and let me know the accountant would review the books to see how much I had paid to send me that amount via check. I honestly thought oh well the gesture was nice but I doubt I’ll actually see that check, which I was okay with since I wasn’t expecting a refund anyhow. But low and behold I received a check in the mail shortly after for the amount of the service + my tip! I felt bad that she sent back the tip since either way she did put in work and deserves the tip regardless. But I’m also a poor Graduate school student so I just cashed in the check and made a mental note to write her a Unilocal review on her amazing response to a customer complaint. Maybe one day I’ll feel brave enough to give her wax a try again but regardless I still highly will recommend her.

Sophie Wax is amazing! It was my first time going there and she made me feel very comfortable. She is super quick and so nice. The rooms are very nice and clean. She is just so sweet and so helpful if you have any questions. I would definitely be going back, it was a great experience!

Ariana is simply the best. I’ve been going monthly for about a year now and the is wonderful every time. She makes me feel extremely comfortable and is quick and as painless as a wax can be. Space is always clean and you can make an appointment by text. Couldn’t be happier with Sophie Wax!

She fit me in on the same day, was very pleasant and pretty funny and tries to make it painless as possible. You can not beat the price. First time using soft wax does burn a little more than hard but I think the results are better. Definitely will be coming back

Arina is super sweet, fast, thorough and professional! I don’t know if I can speak to pain level, I really can’t tell if other places have been more painful or painless, it all feels the same to me, but she definitely stands out from everyone else in every other aspect!
I first came to Arina on some Groupon-​type deal. Whenever I get one of these deals (Groupon, Living Social, Lifebooker, etc.) I go just that one time and never return because they’re never anything to write home about, but Arina has made a repeat client out of me! Her work is very thorough and she’s so fun to talk to, I completely forget I’m getting what’s normally considered a torturous service, and before I know it she’s done!
And this would still be a five-​star review even if she wasn’t as affordable as she is.
Lastly, I normally don’t write reviews (even for five-​star service) unless someone went above and beyond, but this last time, I rescheduled on her, day-​of, TWICE, and she still allowed me to come in and see her and was SO sweet about it! Granted, I don’t imagine this is necessarily regular practice, it was completely inconsiderate of me to be so late to an appointment twice in one day that I had to reschedule twice in one day, most practices would probably just ask that I return on another day, and it may just be that she just happened to have cancellations that could accommodate me later in the day (so please don’t be as inconsiderate as me and/​or be presumptuous that she can accommodate this behavior all the time!), but I was so so grateful, and she was so kind!
I’ve tried quite a few places in LA, OC and the valley, but I have never needed to go to anyone else in the last 3 years!

Arina was the sweetest person ever! I went in for a leg waxing appointment and it was quick and painless. She talked to me throughout the entire thing, making sure that I was feeling comfortable.

I’ve been far and wide to take care of my waxing needs and absolutely no one compares to Arina! She is clean, very thorough, and SO FAST. Super sweet and friendly too. My fav thing about coming here is she has this wall art that says «Relax» placed perfectly in your line of vision as you lay on the table. Helps with the nerves and puts you at ease to add to the already less-​painful-​than-​normal experience. Also, her prices are a steal considering the quality of services! Quick, easy, cheap — look no further!

I always had my monthly waxing since I was 16, so as you can imagine I’ve seen a lot of everything.
I decided to go to Sophie’s because of all the good reviews from Unilocalers, and lasts time I had my wax at European Wax, and at Sophie’s the place may be way smaller, but the results are just unbelievably perfect.
My hair is really tiny, so I’m really used to see a few little hair always left because or it is too short, or is to tiny, but with Sophie that just didn’t happen, I’m so pleased about how smooth my skin looks right now!
Also, she used stripe hot wax, and even if strips make the waxing always a bit more painful Sophie is really fast and friendly, she makes you also feel comfortable!
I highly recommend Sophie !

Amazing! I have had many Brazilian waxing done and laser and this was the easier painless experience I have ever had. On top of it Arina is the nicest person, thank goodness I found her. I’ll be back for sure!

Arina Arina Arina!!! She is amazing. I went for my very 1^st Brazilian Wax on 1÷6÷15. I was beyond nervous. She eased my fears and talked me through the process. I know it’s hard to believe that a person could make small-​talk during this but she really kept my mind off of it (as much as possible). She is very friendly and professional! This is her knack! She’s got that IT factor. I’ll niver go anywhere else. I have already referred two family members who are booking at the end of this month. I raved about her. I will definitely be back. I hear it takes at least three times to get that baby-​smooth look. So I’m going back to her for #2 and #3. And the deal I got was definitely worth it! Very nice, clean and intimate atmosphere. Kudos all the way around! Five stars!

She is very knowledgeable, very professional and totally made me feel comfortable. Short and sweet that’s how I like my wax appointment quick, and thorough .
The place is clean and neat. And she did a fantastic job. Booked my next one before I left. This is my new place. The price is unbeatable.

I highly suggest coming here for waxing services. The Brazillian wax experience is never fun, but Arina made is as comfortable as it can be. She talked through the waxing which took my mind off of what was actually happening and moved quickly. I was out in 15 minutes. After having not been in longer than I care to admit, she made me feel at ease which makes me want to come back regularly. I also love that she is available via text to confirm appointments and check in on you post-​service.
The prices are incredibly reasonable for such a nice place.

Arina is amazing! She is nice, friendly, and welcoming. I love that she is quick with the waxing because it makes the whole process almost painless! Best of all, it’s a very clean place (no double dipping!).

Searching for a great Brazilian wax can be quite challenging. After all it’s a Brazilian, don’t want to spend big $$ for something I’m unpleased with down there, not to mention how sensitive it is.
Location is a bit hard to find. The address on Unilocal seems to be incorrect. When I copied it to my gps it always takes me to the opposite direction. It’s done that twice since I’ve gone there so make sure to call Arina and ask her exactly where it is or how to get there from where you are. Other than that the location itself is pretty small but cozy, cute and real clean. Parking is street.
I came here with a groupon deal and another deal through Unilocal so make sure to check it out as well since there are deals for first timers. First impression with Arina, was a very comfortable and positive feedback. Very sweet, she makes you feel very comfortable and knowledgeable. She talks to you and makes conversation and pretty funny. That’s always a plus since we know its pretty painful down south when getting waxed!
Price is pretty reasonable. $ 39 for a full Brazilian wax and she also tweezes. I’ve been to some where either they don’t tweeze or they do but still leave some ingrown hairs. Arina is great and especially for you first timers for Brazilian wax I highly recommend her. I feel guilty because I also have Esther who is also such a sweetheart and also very professional. I’ve just been here often because they always have deals and it’s a bit closer to me.
