Yesterday I wrote an evaluation on Dr. James Pearlstein and the negative experiences I had with him. Today got even worse because my dentist told me that the lab they use could not match the compound used in my partial and recommended to call Dr. Pearlstein’s office to find out the lab and they would send it there to be fixed.
The answer to me was that if I wanted the name of the lab I should first delete my evaluation of him on Unilocal and he would give me the name of the lab that he refused to send the partial to be fixed. I told his assistant that I would not be blackmailed and would rather pay full price for a new one than erase what I wrote and that I would write another one so people know who he is.
This is just a partial description of what happened because other jobs he wanted to do in my mouth my dentist told me that could cause more harm than good.
Just want to let you know that this is my first time writing a review in my life but this guy deserves.

I live in Whittier so the last dentist I saw was in Whittier. Several years ago he put a crown on one of my canines and it was horrible. It was like a giant white rock in my mouth. The fit was bad and the back was rough. I was constantly rubbing my tongue on it because it was so annoying.
My daughter lives in the 90 210 and she had started seeing Dr. Pearlstein a year or so ago and she kept saying «you need to go see my dentist, he’s great!» She knew how unhappy I was. How embarrassed I was to smile. In pictures with my granddaughters, you can see how my smile is crooked and tight because I was always dropping one lip to try to cover that awful crown.
Then two things happened to me this summer. First, I turned 57 and second, my 4 year old granddaughter told me «Meema, you have ugly teeth.»
So I decided it was time to do something, after all these years about my teeth and I made an appointment with Dr. Pearlstein.
Best things about his practice: His staff is caring and attentive. He has all the latest and greatest equipment. He is nice and continues to check on you. At my last appointment I was in the chair for 4 hours and he kept saying, «are you ok? Do you need a blanket?» I barely felt the shots. The very best thing is how my smile looks today.
My husband did not want me to get veneers, but I had been wanting them for years. He kept saying «I love you the way you are.» When I walked out of the office last Friday after getting my veneers done on my front four teeth, I saw my husband walking towards me, looking a little anxious. I walked towards him and smiled and he broke out in the biggest grin. He said «YOU LOOK GREAT!»
Bottom line — Dr. Pearlstein will be my dentist as long as I have teeth in my head and as long as I have a credit card. Yes, he is more expensive than the average dentist. BUT the way I see it. .. why are we willing to spend $ 35,000 or $ 40,000 on a car that only lasts about 5 years before you get the next car, and you are only in the an hour or so a day, but you don’t want to spend the money on one of the first thing that people notice about you? I am going to show these babies off for the rest of my life, and I’m smiling so much now I actually am in a better mood!
I guess I’m gushing — but I’m just so freakin’ happy with my smile now.
p. s. They also play Sirius XM station «Soul Town». Most dentists I have ever visited either played elevator or country music. So that’s one more thing that I loved about that office.

He taught me the importance of taking good care of my teeth and preserving my smile. I have had cavities filled, fillings replaced, root canal work done, and I have NEVER felt ANY pain during any of these procedures! His chair-​side manner is professional and extremely calming. I chose to have Dr. Pearlstein do my dental veneers, and I continue to get compliments about my teeth and my smile. He is truly an artist in the field of cosmetic dentistry. His hygienist is equally as kind and professional, and his office staff are friendly and willing to file any necessary insurance paperwork. I have referred many friends over the years, and they are all equally as pleased with his service and expertise. Dr. James Pearlstein is simply the best!!!

I’ve been a patient of Dr. Pearlstein since 1989. He’s the best dentist I’ve ever gone to!!! I’ve recommended dozens of people to him and they’ve all loved him! He’s the only dentist that can give me shots of novacaine and I don’t mind at all. His work is top notch and besides all that, he’s a really nice guy and truly cares about his patients. His staff reflects the same level of service as he does and I have to admit, I love getting my teeth cleaned ’cause the hygenists there are soooo great! This dentist and staff are the best — no need to look further!!!

Needed two fillings and did not feel anything. Dr. Pearstein distracted me so I did not even know that novocain was being injected. Highly recommend.

Thorough and real good. Precise. Will tell you whats next, and what should be done moving forward. No nonsense. Nice staff and great teeth cleaners. I go off my insurance.
