So I’m 4 months po and I couldn’t be more happier with my results it was all worth the pain. Lol. From day one he was honest and straight forward, and wasn’t pushy like other doctors just trying to get paid he really cares about his patients. Other says he cocky I say he’s just a Dr that knows his stuff can’t knock him for it!
What Doctor answers your emails within minutes if you have any questions or concerns more then dr Hughes he’s very prompt and I love that! I couldn’t be more happier with my decision to go with him, and most importantly he gave me the body I’ve always wanted! He is definitely the best Doctor in LA! Ladies if you’re looking for that dream body see Mr Hughes himself you won’t be disappointed! I will be having a tummy tuck with him some time next year and I can’t wait!

Wow, amazing staff and amazing Doctor! I had a Breast augmentation about two months ago and I’m loving my results. Totally wish I would have done it a lot sooner rather then waisting my time thinking about it. Worth every penny! The time he and his staff dedicated to me to answer any and all my questions is worth more then any dollar amount. Dr. Hughes really takes care of his patients and dedicates his time/​efforts and it shows. Before choosing Dr. Hughes I went to several consultations prior and it can be a bit confusing, especially when there is so much competition for plastics but where else in Beverly Hills will you find a board certified doctor that has the credentials, reviews, mind blowing before and after photos and a staff who treats you like family? NOWHERE! My gut feeling was right in choosing Dr. Hughes and now I’m referring my friends and family.

At first, I felt a little weird talking to Dr. Hughes because I am a guy and I never thought I would need any cosmetic surgery on my face. I went in to get my eyelids checkout because they are naturally droopy and they make me look sleepy all the time. Being told I looked «bored, dead, sleepy» gets old after 23+ years! After our consultation he told me that I should go see another doctor because what I had was medical not cosmetic.
After going to some other plastic surgeons, I feel like Dr. Hughes was really cool and the most honest/​professional guy out there. Dr. Hughes told me what my REAL problem was, no BS, and that seeing someone else would be the best (unlike other doctors who WRONGLY told that it could be done and were already trying to schedule an appointment for surgery).
After I finish with this surgery, I will definitely come back and get surgery on my nose with Dr. Hughes.
Anyways, I am a real person who did his research. I know looking for a good surgeon is tough but if you want to do some surgery I would recommend you go and see Dr. Hughes.

I’ve now been through two procedures with Dr Hughes, both what I would call a great success. What sets him apart (in my opinion) is his skill with lipo and fat transfer procedures like the Brazilian Butt Lift. Easily the best in LA and for sure one of the top 5 in the country. When it comes to aggressive lipo for people with low body fat, I would rank him even higher, top 3 in the country. I’m not sure if it’s an official tag line, «he gets all the fat out», but it should be. And, he somehow does it without any skin irregularities. Incredible skill with lipo.
As I said, I’ve now had two procedures with him, and our patient/​surgeon relationship has grown a lot. At first appointment I did find him to be a little bit rushed or maybe annoyed with me, but I soon figured out the key is not asking him a million questions over email ;) It is very easy to take advantage of his email responsiveness– which is bar none the best I have ever experienced from any doctor. He answers every email– usually within the hour, and sometimes even on weekends. Pretty much unheard of from a PS.
Results wise, I am forever grateful for the work he has done for me. You can find detailed reviews with before and after pictures from both of the procedures I have had with him on realself. He took my body from inverted triangle and turned it into a perfect hourglass with only the little bit of body fat I had. For me, it’s a dream come true

Can’t say enough good things about Dr. Hughes. His skills are matched by no other. Had several procedures done by him including a mommy makeover and a second fat transfer to the breast. I had very minimal bruising and so far I love my results. He listens to his patients and he will not suggest procedures you don’t need. Now ladies, he doesn’t sugar coat things. He is honest and straight to the point, so if you’re looking for someone to give you compliments just to get your business, you went to the wrong doctor. He says it like it is, and you can trust that his opinions are what’s best. People should have realistic expectations going in, if it cannot be done or if there is no need for it, he will tell you honestly. Sorry for those of you who think they’ve had a bad first consultation with him, you’re missing out because this guy’s got skills. Dr. Hughes is AMAZING! I went in for a fat transfer consult with very little hope as I have little body fat. Only weighing about 120 and being 5’5 my expectations weren’t too high. I let him know my priority was more so my hips getting rounder than my butt getting bigger. He told me upfront what I can expect. He was humble and to the point, and I appreciated his honestly. I felt confident with moving forward and booked my surgery.
My surgery went even more beyond my expectations. First of all, my recovery was a breeze. The anesthesiologist was amazing as well. She was extremely thorough with her questions and knew exactly how much my body would need. I did not experience ANY nausea post-​op. Dr. Hughes transformed my body with only one tiny incision. I truly believe Dr. Hughes and his staff are the reason for my easy recovery. I’ve had surgeries before and they’re recoveries were nothing like this ones.
Aside from the recovery, I’m 6 weeks post op now and so far I’ve seen very little fat loss (some is to be expected). I’m also very pleased with my butt, I honestly only thought we’d have enough to transfer to hips, but he really made the most of what he managed to get, and truly changed my body.
Also, I don’t think you’ll come across another surgeon who’s as attentive and responsive to his patients. Even before ever going in for a consult, he answered all my questions/​emails promptly. I’m extremely pleased with my experience and if I could give more stars I would. Thank you Dr. Hughes!!!

Honestly I had considered Lipo and bbl for quite some but didn’t know of any great Dr that caught my eye, I had consultation after consultation and still there was not one Doctor that I was considering so at one point I had gave up looking! I didnt want to travel so far for what I wanted done so I just stopped looking! Not until one day while looking at some photos I ran into a website call Real Self (man this site is so addicting) after doing so much searching I ran into Boris Cosmetics reading the reviews of that were ok but the reviews on Dr. Hughes alone were amazing I was so excited I called the next day and made an appointment. Keep in mind I am a person that had never had any surgery done and the thought of going under the knife scared the sh** out of me!!! Honestly reading so many articles on what happens to people and the results really frightened me but I felt so at ease knowing I was going to see Dr. Hughes! While I was waiting the nerves really got the best of me, as I sat there I see this big man walk and my stomach started to turn… Dr. Hughes looks so intimidating But as he started to talk to me I felt very comfortable his knowledge makes me at ease then he asked me to stand up so he can see my stomach and booty he knew exactly what I wanted done where I need the lipo and where I was going to get the fat transfer also what my results were going to be and what to expect! (I have 2 boys 13 and 6) so my stomach didn’t look flat I have stretch marks so he said that it was not going to look as if I didn’t have children that was only going to be achieved only if I got a tummy tuck! I never considered myself a FLAT booty girl but my booty could of used some oomph!!!
My date was scheduled… I was so excited I scheduled that day and to have my procedure right away about 2 weeks after my consultation with Dr. Hughes! The day had come I was freaking out the thought of possible pain and not knowing what would happen terrified me, the nurse finally calls me to the front she is really nice and tries to comfort me but that’s not working a few moments later this tall man walks in and he introduces himself (I was so nervous I didn’t even hear his name) but he is the anesthesiologist, he is very sweet and let’s me know that as soon as I walk into the operating room he will give me something to calm my nerves and my shaking! Then as he is about to leave Dr. Hughes walks in he looks very calm and starts explaining my procedure, even and at one point we even started laughing! I think a lot of people are thrown back by Dr. Hughes honestly he is a very sweet man!!!
He walks out I get moved to the operating room were the nurse washes me down with some antibacterial liquid they laid me down and the anesthesiologist says if I’m ready and of course I say YES! About 10 seconds later he asks me if I feel alright I remember I said yes and don’t remember anything until up to the moment my husband was walking me to our hotel room what felt like 10 seconds was actually 4 hours. That night I must have gotten up to pee about 20 million times I have to say I had absolutely no pain at all more like a soreness to my body like I did 10,000 sit ups and about 40,000 squats I was beat! I live about 2 hours away from venice so going home the next day wasn’t the easiest but it wasn’t painful (thank God)
The next few days were ok not to bad still no pain, as the days progressed things got a little easier trying to adjust to sleeping on my stomach was annoying and not being able to sit was also a pain in the a**! Now that I am 2 months post op I feel awesome my body looks better and better everyday my stomach is flat and my booty has just enough oomph to were it’s not like «damn she just got a Kim K ass!» I mean if you like that kinda look great but it looks more like «wow she does her squats right lol» I mean I can’t say enough great things about my experience especially about Dr. Hughes he is amazing answers all my emails so rapidly! If you are debating on getting this procedure with him DONT he is literally the best in my opinion!!!

I don’t know if everyone who wrote a review were «real» patients or just a review to fatten up the pockets.
I was excited to speak with Dr. Huges. However, he seem bothered by my questions and even rushed. Ok ok… I understand he’s busy… but if I am going to hand over 12k I want some questions answered «honestly» and yes I can do or no I can not do or lets meet half way.
I am not going to pay 12k for «unrealistic» results… so help me visualize what is realistic or not.
I would hate to have to folk out more for a revision surgery.
When we loose trust in doctors… I am so saddened by my experience. I feel like there isn’t any good people far less honest doctors in this world.
I was hoping and praying Dr. Hughes would be my last stop on my search for an honest, realistic and caring PS (about patients like a doctor should regardless of craft)

I traveled from Seattle to have my procedures done by Dr. Hughes. I am extremely glad I did. After monthsof research, I found Dr. Hughes. My results are beyond all expectations. Dr. Hughes truly is a surgical artist. I believe that he did with no other doctor could ever do on my body. As to the review below and for future people… He’s not going to be your best friend. Some doctors rely on their personality to sell patients and of course you want to feel connected and close with your doctor. Yes, it could be a bit more personable and his consultation seemed a bit rushed but Dr. Hughes really just cares about having a good result for his patients– he’s not there to be a psychologist or your friend. This is something that if you have had surgery before or if you’ve had many consultations you will begin to understand better. He’s in a great surgeon with great results when I don’t think that you could ever go wrong getting surgery with him. But no, he’s not exactly the guy that makes you feel like you’re his best friend or wants to go to coffee with you the next day. That’s just how he is. Personally, I’ll take the surgical results over a friendship any day.

I was SUPER excited about seeing Dr. Hughes a few weeks ago. His reviews are great! His results are flawless! Take a look for yourself! However, Dr. Hughes Seemed rather bothered by my consult, almost as if he had no idea that he had a consult and was being interrupted. This may have been the case.
Before I go on, I’d like to make it clear that each patient has their own expectations when looking for a surgeon e.g., bubbly personality, male, female, environment, bed side manner, cost, etc. I respect that, and I am not here AT ALL to bash anyone’s reviews of their honest experiences. I respect all opinions.
As another reviewer rightfully-​so mentioned: Do not go to a PS’s office looking for a best friend or someone that «relies on personality to sell patents». She’s dead-​on right, but I wasn’t looking for those things. I was expecting to see some form of bedside manners… Please?! At least see ONE smile before I allow you to put me under and cut into my body. I’m not expecting Dr. Hughes or any surgeon, for that matter, to be my best friend, psychologist, or take me out for Tea or whatever, but to show complete irritation that a patient is there does not deserve a raving review.
Some other little things that bothered me: my chart sat on the front desk for an hour. Finally I was put into a room that smelled absolutely unclean… and …just terrible is all I can say. Okay, I can deal with the smell for a few, so I waited.
When Dr. Hughes came in he was dripping sweat and appeared to be rushed and, like I mentioned before, agitated by my visit. I’m confused, he knew he had a consult that day, right? I digress, I listed all of the things that I was looking into and he was pretty negative about my body and how «odd» my proportions were, but agreed to do the surgery. sort of «cash-​cowish»
Adam (The financial guy) is very down to earth. Cool guy. He gave me prices but seemed pretty car salesman-​like and nonchalant in general. When going over some of my concerns he brushed them off.
All in all, maybe I caught everyone on a bad day. I’m hoping that’s all it was. Dr. Hughes’s results are amazing, but I didn’t feel the connection that I had hoped to feel. Where is this awesome guy that everyone keeps talking about??? I certainly did not like the office’s environment. Again, I’m just sharing what I observed. I hope your experience is much better than mine. Thank you.

I never thought I’d have plastic surgery. But I started to consider it after having my last kid. I looked at Drs. Lisa Cassileth, Eugene Kim, William Bruno and Ken Hughes — all in Beverly Hills /​Los Angeles. My key criteria were:
1. Experience: surgeon’s performed hundreds of the multiple procedures that I sought
2. Results: lots of before and after photos and examples of what the surgeon’s results looked like — not just a handful of select photos from their own websites
3. Patient testimonials: unbiased feedback from actual patients
4. Female: I’ve had great experiences with female doctors
5. «Getting it:» surgeon listens and understands what I want
6. Trust: surgeon’s a decent person who I can trust and an expert and professional from whom I can seek well-​informed advice
7. Communication: unambiguous communication and willingness to communicate by email or phone
I ended up going with Dr. Hughes because he is/​has all of the above (oops, not female — one strike against…), plus he sets himself apart from the others by (1) having so many more examples of his work available on the Internet (patients post their own pics on
) — and I’ve yet to see someone who was not happy with their results, (2) being incredibly accessible by phone and responsive by email — his responsiveness is remarkable, (3) having a passion for his work and «ownership» and pride over his work, (4) listening to your desires while also providing recommendations based on his professional expertise and experience, (5) genuinely caring about his patients (6) having the ability, stamina and experience executing multiple procedures efficiently in one surgery so that I wouldn’t have to go under the knife more than once and also wouldn’t have to be under general anesthesia for too many hours, and (6) being seemingly indefatigable.
Something I had not fully appreciated the importance of when I was selecting a surgeon was his or her willingness to spend time with you on aftercare (after the surgery). I emailed Dr. Hughes countless questions post op, and he always responded quickly with clear and concise guidance. Although I felt badly about the volume of questions I asked him, he never made me feel like I was bothering him with my (dumb) questions. When you’re going through this, it’s all-​consuming as well as emotionally draining, and it’s important to feel that your surgeon is approachable and cares about you — and I really appreciated this «soft skill» of Dr. Hughes.
Dr. Hughes provided me with solid counsel during the recovery process, and I had NO COMPLICATIONS (no seromas, incision openings nor infections) as a result.
Most importantly, I’ve been thrilled with the results. Great doc — thank you, Dr. Hughes.
