Everyone on Unilocal should know that Erin Call, PA-​C, has moved to a different office and she is now in Agoura Hills! She’s practicing at the offices of Dr. Tabibian. She is fabulous and, TRUST me, it will be WORTH the drive to see her there! Her new office is awesome and the staff is super nice. Go there. You’ll like it.

I’ve been seeing Erin for the past few years and she is the kindest, most knowledgable, helpful PA I’ve ever seen. I’ve dealt with acne for ten years and visited many dermatologist offices and am so grateful to have found Erin. She’s so kind, listened to needs and skin history and prescribed me the only regiment that has completely cleared my acne for the past three years. I can’t say enough about Erin, she is the absolute best!

Been dealing with acne for 18 years (started at 16 — ended at 33 thanks to Erin Call). I was determined to find a cure for my acne so I started seeing dermatologists in 2012. First dermatologist gave me a regimen and would ask me to visit with him in 3 months to see the results; marginal improvement (reduced frequency of breakouts) — stopped seeing this first doctor after 6 months. Second dermatologist gave me a very similar regimen as the first doctor and also scheduled quarterly update visits. After the first quarter, no improvement, so he upped the potency of the creams he was prescribing. After 9 months of seeing this doctor I gave up and in my desperation to cure my acne led me to order the Proactive kit. Within the same week, I was randomly recommended to Eric. Upon meeting her she gave me a regimen that involved 2 – 3 topical products and 1 oral product with monthly visits. I could see a difference within the first month. Reduced frequency of breakouts, less severe breakouts. My skin started healing nicely, got better skin tone as a result of not constantly having red marks on my cheeks/​forehead. I now am pretty much cured. I have very occasional breakouts because my skin is extremely oily but nothing in comparison to how bad my acne used to be. Erin knew what to prescribe me and she listened well to my needs and would recommend this accordingly. I highly recommend Erin! I really didn’t think I could have good acne-​free skin. Thank you Erin!

I’ll admit that I am extremely blessed to have not experienced acne in my high school days and even through college. I would have the occasional hormonal outbreak that I attacked, leaving open wounds and scars that I later regretted. Aside from my inability to not pick my face, I breezed through my teens relatively unharmed by the effects of acne and so never once thought to take care of my skin. I tanned a ridiculous amount, never wore sunscreen when I was a lifeguard for four years, and maybe washed my face in the morning before school. At the time it had no obvious damage and it wasn’t until the summer after college and a humongous move to Los Angeles from the midwest that I noticed I couldn’t continue with my teenage skincare routine.
From cystic acne that would bubble and scar to small pimples that broke out amongst my forehead and chin like a rash, I started to experience insane skin problems. I cursed my early twenties and pinned the blame on hormones and stress. While these things most definitely played a part in the eruption on my skin, I knew I was also not treating my skin correctly. I researched and purchased items with no luck and no money left in my bank account. I started to give up and hide in my bed. After many tearful mornings and nights of FOMO, I decided to visit Goldman and Dubow.
I was immediately set up with Erin Call and after describing my symptoms she prescribed a topical treatment (Onexton) and also an antibiotic (Actilate). Within weeks my skin cleared up and I was relieved to discover a social life again. I continued to have monthly check ups that then turned into every other month and finally at my sixth month check up Erin’s work was done. Each check up I would describe my progress and concern with dryness or small breakouts and Erin would know exactly what to give me whether a soothing hydrocortisone for my undereye or a retina to rectify a few pimples on my forehead. My battle with zits came to end with Erin’s help and although I say goodbye to her for acne assistance, I will be back for any other dermatology questions or concerns.

The doctors at this office came highly recommended and although they seem to be great at what they do, their office is poorly organized and they kept me waiting for a very long time. I don’t have time to wait at a doctor’s office for 20 – 30 minutes before being seen and I won’t be returning to this practice.

BE WARNED! I am chagrined to have to write a horrible review because I generally only enjoy giving positive feedback where it is due, but this is a necessity. If I could give negative stars I would. Dr Goldman is condescending, arrogant, and most egregious, charged me for brand name medication while actually giving me generic medication which was not even legal in the US at that time. He actually OVER-​charged me ($ 110-​) for brand name Propecia for my hair which at that time was thinning due to hypothyroidism, but actually gave to me generic finasteride which was, at that time, illegal in this country and only available at that time in other countries via sketchy online overseas pharmacies. I discovered that the medication he gave me was not, indeed, brand name Propecia when I noted that the tablets had no standard Merck markings on them, as verified by a Merck pharmaceutical rep who is a friend of mine. I pointed this out upon my second visit to Dr Goldman and asked why I was being sold generic drugs yet charged for brand name. He became contemptuous and angrily defensive and told me i could «knock myself out if it could be found cheaper», when that was entirely beside the point. I also asked how he was selling generic finasteride at all when it wasn’t legal in the US at that time. Instead of assuaging my concerns with a legitimate explanation, he became extremely angry at having been exposed and reacted with combative and acrimonious defensiveness. He became incensed when I told him I was leaving his office, that I would not return, and did not desire the experimental progesterone shots he wanted to inject into my head for countless months into the future which would have costed thousands of more dollars, supposedly to thicken my hair which had barely begun to get thinner as a result of my sluggish thyroid. After only one full initial visit, I had already paid close to a thousand dollars between his office visit, the generic medication which he charged, as mentioned, more than the rate for the brand name he claimed it was, and the copious blood tests (despite my having already provided him with two-​week-​prior blood tests which I had just procured, as paid for by my PCP within my medical insurance network) he insisted he needed for analysis which was never forthcoming. He preys upon the fears of his female patients and will try to make you pay thousands upon thousands of dollars for his experimental progesterone shots to your scalp, when in reality, the only patients who truly have lasting success with regrowing hair are male patients, and even they should be warned of the severe side effects of Propecia. Another patient of his told me she got horrible infections at the injection sites on her head as a result of these progesterone shots and had to wear hats for weeks until they healed. Again, it grieves me to be a messenger of anything but positive report, but I was taken advantage of in my vulnerable state, and with his demeanor being so arrogant and intimidating, I imagine that he is not accustomed to having to be accountable for his actions as so few people tend to stand up to such behavior. Please be warned.

I can’t say enough good things about the Goldman/​Dubow practice. I have been a patient here for close to 15 years and everyone is amazingly wonderful ~ from Carla and Maria at the front desk who always seem to find an appointment for me that works with my crazy schedule, to all of the nursing staff, especially Joanna and Craig who have both held my hand through a number of procedures, even Kelly in billing is a pleasure to work with and I hate parting with money.
…and doctors Goldman and Dubow are both awesome. They are kind, patient, informative, and extremely talented. As a now middle aged beach kid, I have a myriad of skin problems including pre cancers, melasma, and rosacea not to mention the vanity issues that come with aging and both of the doctors are expert at all of them. Both are surgeons and can take you from initial consultation, through the treatment of the most critical skin problems.
There just aren’t enough superlatives to express how exceptional they all are.

This place is shady!!! They sent me a bill dated 01÷02÷15 saying they owe me a credit of $ 16.21. I get a bill 02÷02÷15 saying now I owe them $ 27.33. I spoke with Kelly who handles billing and she was beyond RUDE!!! All she kept saying was «She knows what she’s talking about, she’s been doing this 25 years.»
She also said I owe a $ 20 copay from a ¹⁰⁄₁₇ appointment that should be on my November statement and I asked «if I owe $ 20 from that visit and haven’t paid it why isn’t in on this 01÷02÷15 or 02÷02÷15 statement? If it isn’t on my bill how am I suppose to know I owe it?» I asked her to tell me when my November bill was generated and mailed out for that $ 20 co-​pay and she couldn’t «find it.» Go figure. She also said «It’s only $ 27» If it’s only $ 27 why you billing me for it then? Why don’t yall just eat it. It’s only $ 27.
The way she went about handling this situation was ridiculous. The office staff is extremely rude and doesn’t show a bit of customer service. Just $$ flashing in their eyes. Go to a doctors office who cares.

Since moving to LA 7 months ago, I had developed acne which I was unable to treat with any over the counter creams. I saw Erin Call, and assumed it was going to be a lengthy and expensive process, but she prescribed three medications which cleared up my skin in about one week! One month later and it is totally under control.
The staff are friendly and professional, and conveniently located in the Cedars Sinai complex.

Over-​priced office. I went in for a routine skin cancer screening (which was covered by my insurance) however, even though the doctor didn’t find anything wrong, he decided to give me a biopsy on one of my moles «just to be safe.» Sure, one could interpret this as being safe, but to me it seemed like he was trying to squeeze a little more cash out of a non-​profitable office visit. Of course, the mole was benign, and sure I felt better knowing this information, but at an extra cost of $ 225 to myself (not covered by insurance), I don’t think it was worth it. My feeling was that the doctor was not that worried about my mole, he just wanted to make my visit worth his time by adding an extra charge. Just my opinion, but that was my gut feeling.

I saw Erin Call, the Physician Assistant in the practice. She was super friendly, didn’t rush and gave some great suggestions about how to deal with some post-​pregnancy skin issues and scar healing. I would definitely recommend her and would certainly see her again. She deserves bonus points for not pushing cosmetic treatments. While you certainly want them after pregnancy, I have enough NICU bills to prevent me from indulging.
I noticed here that parking was mentioned in at least one other review. It was $ 13.50 for me to park for the short appointment, but I thought this was better than having to go to the Beverly Center. The parking garage was pretty full, so I doubt the price will be decreased when the demand is that high no many how many complaints there are. At least the practice tells you up front that they don’t validate.
The thing I didn’t like was their process of getting topical medications. I was told that I should apply a topical medication and a lotion. The lotion was available on-​site for $ 20 in cash (it was branded with the name of the practice physician). While this means you can’t use your insurance, this wasn’t horrible given the reasonable price. I was told that a local pharmacy would call me to make arrangements to get me the second topical medication. They called about 24 hours later from a blocked number and told me they had received a prescription. While I still don’t know the name of the pharmacy, the person repeated the number several times. This was fortunate because the person who left the initial voicemail was really hard to understand. I returned the call about half an hour later and asked about mailing times since they send the prescription by mail. Since there was a holiday weekend, even they concurred that it would take awhile to get me the medication through the mail.
I called the practice back and asked to have the medication called in to my local CVS. The nurse said she could do this but it might cost more. Not fifteen minutes later, I get a call from the CVS pharmacist telling me the topical medication retails for over $ 700 and that even with insurance, it will be over $ 100. Hmm. I asked him what alternatives might be available, and he said he would get back to me. I then received a call from a frustrated nurse telling me that she tried to explain that they have to use the mail order pharmacy because they have coupons that they can use for patients. I explained that waiting five days only to risk the post office not being able to put it in my mailbox seemed like a bad plan because this often results in taking time off work to track down a package at the post office. I asked if an alternative medication could be utilized. They called back shortly to tell me they helped CVS with the coupon and that I could pick up the medication on Monday because it would need to be ordered. This was still faster than the mail order pharmacy.
So, in summary:
Five stars for the provider. Four stars for the parking and the pharmacy practice.
1) Definitely see Erin. You will like her, and she will help you.
2) Be prepared for the cost of parking.
3) Ask for prescriptions that your local pharmacy can fill. It will be way less difficult to go to the CVS drive-​thru on your way home from your appointment.

Regarding the office STAFF: I have not experienced a more rude or more impatient office staff in my life. Wait is usually over an hour but if you are 10 minutes late they make you wait 4 hours or tell you that YOU must reschedule but you still have to pay for that day’s services. They are awful. In the hallway and elevators and waiting room everyone talks about how rude the office staff is. They are awful
Dr Goldman’s nurses are great and thank god for that because you usually only see the nurses… I think that is the trick, after an hour wait… you’re willing to see anyone to get out of there.
Dr Goldman is kind enough but its a retail practice, he’s making $ 500 every visit so basically $ 3,000 and hour CASH (no insurance) and at those rates… I guess he feels he doenst have to care or provide any better service than wham-​bam-​thank-​ya-​man and PS, I heard that you waited TWO HOURS… TOO BAD!
Lots of other doctors doing the same thing, no magic here, not good rates, not caring, not even really concerned so… if I were to start again. I’d go elsewhere, and frankly I will be looking to switch. I’m spending over $ 7,000 a year here… how can I do worse?

Never been to a dermatologist before this visit, so I wasn’t sure what to expect. I dunno, I come from the very blue-​collar South Side of Chicago and a skin doctor, while maybe not unheard of, is definitely something my family would deem unnecessary.
However, a minor issue arose and since I’m an Angeleno now, why not try out one of those fancy schmancy skin doctors at the famous Cedars Sinai Hospital?
The staff were polite and informative. The front desk receptionist warned me about 3 times that if a procedure is done in-​office, it requires you to pay your insurance company’s deductible. So I had to do some research on the cost of mine before going in. Luckily, I don’t have a deductible, only a co-​pay (phew!).
The procedure was quick and painless. Neither of the doctors saw me, as they were both on vacation, so the staff Physician’s Assistant Erin handled everything. I really enjoyed her.
A few cons were parking– ugh, Cedars Sinai lot was $ 13 I believe… and receiving a bill after the fact. I guess pathology has a co-​pay too… so i had a total of 2 co-​pays, one the day of, one that was billed to me later. But it beats a $ 500+ deductible.
All in all, I’d return… but only with the good insurance plans!

I saw Dr. Dubow to have two moles removed that just bothered me because they looked funny. Dr. Dubow was very attentive and kind. His nurse was extremely welcoming and informative, making me feel well taken care of. A very well run and nice office.

Been to a number of dermatologists before settling with Goldman and Dubow. I’ve seen both doctors and it is clear why they share a practice together. Both doctors are incredibly informed and have been more than happy to answer any questions I have ever had, accompanied by a fantastic bedside manner and friendliness. Treatment options have always been presented to me in a informative way, allowing me to rest assured that they have given my circumstances personal consideration. Fantastic doctors!

$ 200 for a consultation… ??? The consultation fee is NOT applied to any purchased services. The fee is solely to talk to him. I understand that people need to be compensated for their time but those funds should at least be applied toward the treatment balance. Plenty of doctors do that as a courtesy to their patients. Is that really too much to ask? Ridiculous

Dr Goldman is the go to guy for anyone experiencing hair loss male or female. His practice is very busy all word of mouth.
He is professional and to some painfully honest meaning if it’s to late he will tell you…
Being a young woman and losing your hair for whatever reason is terrifying! My hair is thinning all over so much so that leaving the house caused me anxiety.
I earn my living in the beauty industry and without my hair I have to sell
computer supplies!
It’s been a few months 3 to be exact of receiving monthly injections,
daily pills and the magic Rogaine potion the Dr. formulates.
Its amazing my bald area already is covered with new hair growth!
It’s a expensive regimen but well worth every penny!

Been here twice for minor skin issues. Treatment both times was prompt per my appointment time and I felt the doctor (Dr. Dubow) was very informed and helpful both times.
Would definitely recommend!
