I am a Clinical and Forensic Psychologist. I have been in practice for over 25 years and work with a variety of clients in the Los Angeles area. I specialize in working with high profile individuals, as well as clients dealing with depression, anxiety, PTSD, gender issues, addictions, parenting issues, sexual abuse, self-​sabotage, and individuals who are interested in life transitions and/​or personal growth. I also specialize in performing custody evaluations and expert witness evaluations and court testimony. I specialize in sexual harrassment cases, sexual abuse cases, wrongful termination, trauma evaluations, wrongful life and wrongful death cases. I am well versed in psychological and neuropsychological testing.

I have a very personal style and try to be available as much as possible.

Dr. Berkowitz has been invaluable in helping my two children overcome very complex and traumatic issues from a lifetime of emotional and physical abuse. Her professionalism, skill and support she has given them is refreshing. They have had other psychologist that pale in comparison. Dr. Berkowitz is exceptional, and without a doubt the best in her field. I highly recommend her when seeking a true professional and ethical psychologist.

This doctor is dishonest and unprofessional. Avoid. This doctor has been disciplined by the psychology board and is presently facing charges of gross negligence, false billing and other accusations. I had way too many problems with this doctor to list here, but I can assure you that your cash is better spent elsewhere. This doctor will ruin your life if you bring anything other than a small problem such as a resentment towards someone to her. Even then please be wary, she is not honest with her billing

I recommend avoiding this Doctor. My experience with her was pretty awful. She did not disclose to me that she was on probation and had to have a billing monitor because of her past actions.

My families experience with her during conjoint therapy was a complete disaster. She was incredibly unprofessional, biased and blurred the lines frequently regarding a standing custodial court order. She even went so far as to conjure up a diagnosis of one of the parents involved in the case in various, late night emails. Mind you, the parent on the receiving end of these absurd accusations was and never had been a patient of Berkowitz. My only regret was that we didn’t have the energy to pursue a charge against her with the Psych Board.

Dr. Alice is unique. She has the sensitivity and skill that helped to overcome troubling issues. She acts in a professional and ethical manner. Her fees were reasonable. She made herself available.
