I’ve been here for breakfast and it was fine, normal diner omelet. I returned the other day to get a late dinner and ordered a grilled chicken wrap and got very sick from the food. I won’t be going back.

Our waitress was very nice and helpful good service. My French Fries were okay not bad but not going to make you want ro go back for another order. And my wrap was average at best. Was not overly impressed with the food but service wss decent and friendly atmosphere. Kids liked there food but didn’t say we should go back lol

Had them deliver to my house today and I must say that the food was superb, the prices reasonable and it arrived in a very timely fashion. They even included the extra forks we requested! This place deserves more than 5 stars but alas, I am unable to rate it any more than that. I will definitely pick this place over the pizza fast food chains around here the next time hunger strikes.

I was out and about with my fiancé on LI and decided to grab a quick bite. There are so many diners in the area but decided on Diner Luxe because of their reviews. Super disappointed! My fiancé had a cheese burger which tasted like nothing and their fries were super greasy. I had a chunky chicken salad and was underwhelmed; overly salted and didn’t taste fresh. We also ordered a chocolate cake to share and it wasn’t bad, but it wasn’t great either. 2 stars for our waitress who was super sweet. Needless to say, we will not be back.

My friend, her mom and I had just come from the AMC movie theater in Levittown and wanted to grab a late breakfast/brunch. We decided on the Diner Luxe, because based on the retro look of the building and interior we had figured that this establishment didn’t look like a «typical» diner and we were hoping that the food wouldn’t be «typical» either. I ordered a plain waffle with butter and syrup on the side, my friend ordered eggs Benedict with home fries and her mom ordered the«he man» breakfast. Our waiter was lovely and attentive by the way, no complaints there. The food was another story… My waffle had absolutely no taste. I added a little syrup, but I also had to slather it with butter, not something I ever do, in order for it to have a little flavor. Didn’t know you could ruin a waffle. My friend’s eggs Benedict had to be sent back because she asked for well-cooked eggs and they came out runny. Once they got her order right, she said the sauce that came with it tasted like water and flour… tasteless! And her entire meal wasn’t up to par even with the well-cooked eggs. Her mom didn’t like her meal at all, said it was horrible. The bacon was awful. When we went to the register to pay, the cashier asked how the food was. We were very forthcoming and told her it was tasteless, not good at all, and we were very disappointed(although we did praise the service). She took 10 percent off the bill, and while we appreciated the gesture, we will not be returning.

This place was much better when it was Bethpage Diner and then Chow Down Diner, but Diner Luxe is just bad. I’ve come here several times for breakfast(the only reason I really go to diners) and every time something is wrong with my order and my breakfast is just greasy. It’s way more expensive than most of the diners in the area and doesn’t seem to run any sort of breakfast special or combo thing. Most of the time, coffee isn’t even included, which is a bummer and a diner staple. My most recent visit was with some friends for breakfast. Almost all three of us had something wrong with our order, probably thanks to our less than enthusiastic server(to be fair, most of the time I have gone here, the service has been good, this one time was an exception). For fear of having someone spit in our food, we didn’t send anything back or say anything. Plus, we were in a rush and had to leave. Parking is sometimes difficult and the bathrooms were pretty gross the last time I was there. The menu has some more unique creations on it like skillet breakfasts and different types of pancakes and omelettes, but overall there is a way better diner a few feet across the street.

They are still doing it right here at the Diner Luxe. Portions are large, food is very good and the staff is so attentive and friendly you start to wonder if you are still on Long Island. Menu is vast and they are very open to substitutions. Prices are very reasonable.

The menu is pretty large with lots to choose from like most diners. Started with the Manhattan clam chowder, it was all green bell peppers and celery which were mushy, probably had two pieces of clam in my entire bowl. Soup was also not that hot. Chose the Philly cheesesteak wrap with onion rings instead of fries. The wrap was full of grease to the point where the wrapper got stuck around the tortilla. Beef inside tasted weird/had no flavor besides the peppers that were in the wrap, ended up only eating half of the wrap. Onion rings were decent. If I came back I would probably stick with breakfast food and stay away from anything that had beef in it. Plenty of other good diners to choose from.

Hempstead Turnpike has quite a many diners lining it– and I have tried a lot of them. This is so-far the best. Not only is it the best on the turnpike but my favorite on Long Island. I am fortunate that it is close to work; unfortunate in what it will likely do to my waistline. I did not visit this establishment under previous ownership but from what I have tried here so far– it’s worth a trip again and again. It seems like they will cook you anything you want(and they are pretty good at it). They even have a Prime Rib and Lobster night. Can it get any better than this?

Went for a bite around 10:00pm and the host and wait staff was very friendly and attentive. Clean diner and well priced. We ordered a few appetizers and customized them with asking for different sauces. They were more than accommodating. Great price, yummy food, clean environment and a friendly staff what more can you ask for! Excellent diner!

Pleasantly surprised, nice relaxing updated diner with extremely helpful staff all around, everyone stopped by to offer service in one way or another. Food was fine, including good coffee, prices were below the area or year of 2015, so tip well. Everyone greeted. I’ll definitely stop here more often.

Food was great — prices are pretty reasonable and lunch specials come with soup or salad, tea/coffee, entrée and dessert most choices were around $ 12 and under. Service was attentive, place was clean, went when it was nice and quite. Everything was great this time around! If you like apple pie and crumb cake, try the apple crumb for dessert. Rice pudding was also a good choice.

Go in here and get the lunch special which is served until 4pm. It was 10.99 for a soup or salad. beverage of your choice, a random selection of entrees, and a choice of any of their desserts. I got a root beer, cup of chicken noodle soup, a big turkey Reuben sandwich with french fries, and a piece of cherry pie! The soup was yum in a cup. Tons of noodles and big chunks of carrots. The Reuben had carved big slices of turkey not deli turkey, The french fries were steaming hot and perfectly crispy. It was so much food I had to take home half my sandwich so I would have room for dessert. By the way the cherry pie was tasty and I am craving a slice right now! The waitress was super friendly. By mistake she gave me a salad instead of the soup and when I brought it to her attention she told me to just keep the salad and she was bringing my soup right out(which she did). They have a huge menu just like every other diner so I will have to come back and try more of their food.

Terrific re-incarnation of Chow Down Diner! New ownership is Greek as it should be. New menu is diner menu with many choices at reasonable prices. We went late on Friday night as they were open till 2am. Started with Coffee and Iced Tea… both good but coffee could have been richer with more body. For comparison purposes we got our usual dishes we get at Broadway Diner in Hicksville which has been our mainstay. Bonnie got the Buffalo Chicken Salad with bleu cheese dressing on the side. This visit was the best version of this salad we ever had! Crisp chicken pieces, tender and juicy inside. Lettuce, cucs et al. were all fresh, crispy and with the crumbled creamy bleu cheese chunks throughout was heaven in your mouth. Much better than Broadway’s… My choice was the double dipped challah french toast with sausage. French toast had 3 full slices of challah rather then the 2 at Broadway and was double dipped to perfection… really eggy like I like it. The sausage was ok but not really juicy with a real pork flavor. I chose to give 4 stars because after trying all the diners in the surrounding areas this was one of the best. We are returning soon to try the other staple items… they have on the menu a 1 pound burger deluxe with fries and a beer for $ 16.95…a bargain! Gonna try that too. Being open till 2am is a big plus for those late night forays when you gotta eat something good but almost everything is closed …

RECOMMEND Starving and looking for a quick meal before crashing on Tuesday, 2⁄16 at 9:30 p.m. a friend and I chose Diner Luxe. I remembered having many meals at this location with family when this diner was under former ownerships so my choice to try Diner Luxe was at least partially motivated by nostalgia. However, I observed nothing nostalgic or old fashioned about the décor at Diner Luxe. I liked the renovations. The diner is clean, with a sleek and modern look. Our waitress gave us a friendly greeting. I ordered the Hot Open Turkey Sandwich. Our waitress went out of her way to offer me a choice of the lighter turkey gravy or brown gravy. I chose the latter because I enjoy brown gravy on my French Fries, which I chose as one of my sides, along with Broccoli. My friend chose the Reuben, which came with a side of Potato Salad. Service was excellent and dishes arrived promptly. My meal(which is documented by photos) started with an excellent Greek Salad. The lettuce was fresh and I really enjoyed the creamy dressing. The Turkey(Photo 59) was plentiful, fresh and delicious. It was all white meat from good parts of the turkey. I enjoyed the Hot Open Turkey Sandwich. In addition, my Broccoli was nicely cooked to a perfect al dente. My portion of fries was plentiful. The French Fries were superb, crispy and fresh. My companion enjoyed her Reuben. I would not hesitate to return to Diner Luxe.
