Jim Coleman Cadillac

This is hands down the WORST experience I’ve ever had at a car dealership… EVER! Chaquita has no business working with people in any capacity. Her coworkers witnessed her antics whenever I visited the shop. I also encourage the owner of the shop to review the calls and the surveillance involving my interactions with her. I will be glad to return to talk with the owner about this service advisor, because the service department appears to deem her lack of professionalism acceptable.

Let’s start by saying «This is by far the worst semi-​luxury car dealership I’ve stepped in»
I was never happy with buying from Jim Coleman, but just because they are in the area, I ended up going there to review my past 2 lessons and buy my 3^rd car from them…
I called to see if they were still open and can show me the car before I went in (during the last 2 hours), and mainly wanted to see the interior/​exterior color combination and the third row legroom in the Escalade. The sales person told me he can only show me the car in the showroom and can’t get any cars from the lot because its too late. He gave me his card and told me to come back another day.
So I called him a couple of days later and asked if I could make an appointment for the next day. He gave me his working hours and told me to come.
I texted the next day to confirm that he is there. His response: «I just left work. You can go and ask for Jaffe»
So I drove to the dealership. The sales person who was there told me Jaffe has left for the day as well. I asked him if he could show us the car. He went in the back for a minute and came back and said: «Sorry sir, I can’t find the keys!»… (really?! I never told him which car I was interested in) That was about 6 months ago and to this day I am still «question marked» by the third salesperson’s behavior (the disorganization was quite expected)
At this point I was gonna move on, buy my car from another dealer, and forget about all the time I wasted with Jim Coleman… But, this is when all the calls/​texts from the first dealer started, and as soon as I asked him to stop contacting me and I’m done with their dealership, the sales speech turned into pure harassment… Lesson learned, I will never give my contact info to another car dealer…

After being a long time customer at another Cadillac dealership in Greenbelt, MD, my experience at Jim Coleman Cadillac was heavenly! Everyone from the service department to the body shop was outstanding. We were kept abreast of the progress every step of the way. Jim Coleman Cadillac, you are definitely top notch! Kudos to Cesar, our service advisor. You really set the bar high!

Had to update my review of Jim Coleman Cadillac because this was a really incredible development. My daughter accidentally locked our puppy in the rental car we got through the dealership while our car gets fixed. Only one set of keys, and they were in the car. We were in a parking lot in freezing windy, snowy weather and really had no clue what to do. The rental car place is closed, I have no paperwork, and even if I could reach my husband, he doesn’t have another set of keys. Called Cesar in Cadillac service and he takes action: finds and texts me the phone number of Onstar and 800 # for the car rental, then the head of the dealership checks back to make sure our puppy is OK. Seriously? This dealership acts like we live in one of those small towns where everyone knows and cares about each other. In minutes, we were back in our car with our frightened little puppy and SO grateful once again to these nice, professional, caring people!

My review is for the Jim Coleman Service Dept. In my opinion it appears that: the service personnel are out to get you to pay the most for unnecessary repairs in thousands of $, no one is available to talk to other than machines to leave messages, extremely rude behavior. They do not honor recall of Cadillac, instead they create unbelievable stories that no other mechanics supports, the worst service ever and cannot be trusted. I will not buy Cadillac because of their service. End of story.

My review is for the Service Dept, Numerous trips costing $$ due to my Caddilac CTS security
system turning off my engine. After numerous fix this fix that, I decided to take it to the another dealership, The Cadillac Dealership in Frederick fix my problem in one trip. Imo bypass Bethesda and go Frederick location. Better Mechanics and Services.

Took my car in for oil change… mysteriously all of a sudden my car needed multiple repairs to a tune of $ 2,400. I said I will get a second option… that’s when the service manager says ‘Well if you do the repair today, I can authorize a 15% discount!’ I couldn’t get out of there fast enough.

Marty is a great service manager. Friendly and knowledgeable. Really went out of his way to accommodate my busy schedule to get my car serviced quickly.

Took my Escalade in for some electrical work. Upon examination, I was told that the repairs were over $ 900.00. My insurance company covered the damage but had to send an adjuster to approve the work. Upon completion, I was told the total was $ 644.00. I realize that this is because of the insurance company’s involvement but am disappointed that I was going to be charged over $ 900 for the exact same work. I purchased my vehicle from this dealership and have had all the service done at this same dealership. An upcharge of over 40% makes me seriously question the integrity of their billing process.

BUYER BEWARE! Make sure Service Department actually does the work! I brought my car in for new brake pads, rotors turned and brake flush and it was obvious that the work was not done. Hold these people accountable! Don’t let them shrug you off and throw vague industry terms at you. I took my car right back after a few minutes of driving and let them know I know the work wasn’t done. I will see what happens tomorrow. If you think they have not done the work ask to see it or take it to a mechanic. I know I am. I have lost over 800 hundred dollars but I’m glad I haven’t lost my integrity.

I visited Jim Coleman Cadillac with my 82 year old dad yesterday to purchase a new ATS and was really pleased with the outstanding service from the salesman, Richard Mallon. He was honest, straightforward, and kept his promises. I talked to him over the phone for a few minutes before we came and told him which car we were interested in from the online inventory, and he worked out a price in just minutes that was the best we had found. My dad had been to several other Cadillac dealerships, and Jim Coleman had the exact car that he wanted and the price was great. I told the salesman before we arrived that typically I do not enjoy the process of purchasing a new car and getting «stuck» at the dealership all day. He took my comments seriously and had the car washed and ready to go when we arrived even though we had done none of the paperwork. From the time we arrived to the time we left was under two hours (including a trade-​in) – a record in my book. We also really appreciated the Finance guy, Stewart, who was easy, quick, honest and a pleasure to deal with. Thanks for making my dad very happy!

I took my Saturn Ion to Jim Coleman Cadillac to have a leaking front right door seal repaired, among other things. I explained precisely where the leak was occurring and the effects the leak has had on my car (random car alarm triggers, standing water in the floorboard, electrical system malfunctions, etc.). After a diagnosis, I was told that the problem was merely a clogged sunroof drain. I paid $ 125 to unclog these drains and drove away. Now that my car has experienced 2 more moderate-​to-​heavy rainfalls since the «repair» however, I now know that the problem wasn’t fixed at all. All of the effects mentioned above are still present, and in fact even MORE water is being let inside the car now than before they touched it. So I basically threw $ 125 away and now I have to find someone capable of actually fixing the car. Very very disappointing.

Purchased a 2010 Escalade ESV approximately 2 months ago. This weekend I had to have it jumped three times. This week I took the truck in to have it checked and service informed me that I needed a new battery $ 360 (parts + installation + diagnosis). I sure didn’t expect to pay $ 300 plus for a battery before making my 2^nd payment.
I spoke to the used car sales manager and informed him of my displeasure and what I gather from him is that once the used vehicle passes inspection, and is purchased they are free and clear. It looks like the battery had enough juice to pass inspection whenever that was, but not enough to start the vehicle 2 months later.
Looks like I could have purchased my vehicle from Joes Used Cars if I expected to put more money into it before making my second payment. (Does Auto Zone still diagnose and install batteries for free?)

I’m surprised that Cadillac/​GM is ok with the appearance of this dealership. As compared to Lindsay or Moore, Coleman’s facility is awful. The bathrooms are gross, the waiting area is less than impressive and it has a distinctly run down feel. Even accessing service is awkward as their are cars lining both sides of a narrow alleyway so maneuvering is challenging. All in all, having spent time here makes me really appreciate the other local Cadillac dealerships that clearly want to provide a great experience for their customers.

We have been having our Cadillac ’ serviced here since we bought them. They are fair and always quote a price for the work that needs to be done. The waiting area is clean, they have a local shuttle that elk drop off and pick up. The service staff are courteous and helpful. We have never been disappointed and they honor the one year warranty on all parts and labor. If you’re going to drive a Cadillac this is the dealership to be with.

Marty in the service department greeted me with a smile and with full knowledge of why I was there. There had been a recall which needed to be taken care of plus my tires needed to be filled with air on one side. He offered me a loaner which I refused — decided to wait. They offer coffees and water free of charge. I would have enjoyed my wait more if I could have found the remote control for the TV in the lounge. I was the only one there and it was stuck on a news channel I hate watching. Marty offered to have my oil changed even though I was a thousand miles under the point where they
would have done that because I told him I was leaving on a road trip to South Carolina. My car was returned washed and running well.
I have never had any problems with service here and I would recommend them.

The Jim Coleman service staff was courteous, professional, and timely in greeting and attending to the maintenance request for my vehicle. The car was returned on-​time and clean.

ABSOLUTELY TERRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE. I don’t know where to begin. I’m completely shocked as a consumer by the way this dealer treated my fiancé. We are out of state customers who put a deposit down on a CTS-​V. The dealer knew the financing was being processed as they sent a purchase order to our financial institution and we were waiting on the check. They were so eager to make their end of the month quota and make a commission they sold the vehicle to someone else. I have never heard of something like this happening and I’m surprised this is your work ethic. I will definitely make it known to all of my friends and family of the terrible service you offer. Regardless if we are out of state or local we are spending the same amount of money and its pretty pathetic on your part to do something like this.

The car i wanted to purchase had two separate warranties. The first was the remaining new car warranty, which had remaining time and miles on it. The second and, most important to me, was the certified pre-​owned warranty that was offered as an incentive to purchase a used Cadillac. I let the sales person know that the pre-​owned certified warranty was very important to me. I placed a lot of value on the extended type warranty. When i was asked to sign documents to complete the sale there was a clear conflict with what the sales person had told me about the two warranties. All the documents i was seeing spelled out clearly that there was only one warranty and I should not except any verbal representation from the dealer that said otherwise.
The finance manager who was conducting the «paper signing «part of the transaction was becoming physically and verbally aggitated that I was insisting on clarity between the two warranties. I received the same type of resistance from the sales manager and the general manager when i was not getting the clarity I needed.
Essentially the dealer wanted me to sign documents that clearly said there was only one warranty covering this car and any other «verbal» claims about warranties made by the sales company were to be ignored because, according to the documents they were insisting I sign, there was only one warranty as described on a form the dealer described as a federal form that had to be signed. to complete the sale.
I was presented with a clear conflict: Sign the documents that were in conflict and receive who knows what kind of warranty or not sign a kill the deal (which is what i finally did).
I spoke to the sales manager, the general manager and the finance manager about my concerns and i was given short shrift by all of them.
As a result I find the dealer not reputable and would advise all to stay away.

After having a rather dissatisfying service experience with Jim Coleman Cadillac (which I previously posted), I was promptly contacted by their team, and spoke to one of their directors. Their followup to my review helped me understand the issues that were not explained to me when I picked my car up, and also demonstrated to me that Jim Coleman Cadillac is invested in their customer service. Having had a bad experience, but also a very satisfactory followup: I am now happy to update my rating of them.
