Yogurt Harmony

I am SO SAD this place closed! They had the most amazing shaved ice bowl ever! Most nearby yogurt places don’t have shaved ice, so it was kind of special. I still have a CampusCred from them I haven’t used, but CampusCred was nice enough to refund me! RIP Yogurt Harmony. :(

Yogurt Harmony – always the perfect place to go on an incredibly hot day like today… or after a hellish 1.5 hour session of Bikram Yoga down the street at Funky Door.
They don’t offer that many flavors, but if you enjoy a pretty good tart frozen yogurt, Yogurt Harmony’s your answer. It’s alot thicker than the yogurt served at the other hundreds of yogurt shops around Berkeley and the serving is just about right.
The atmosphere is even quiet enough that you could potentially study here. But come on, if you’re actually studying, and not appearing to study, go to the library. Come here to relax for a good 20 minutes with a friend or some frozen yogurt.

This is my favorite frozen yogurt business in Berkeley!
Their yogurt consistency is perfect and consistent. Thick and creamy. Also, flavors rotate often – possibly daily. To me, Yogurt Harmony stands out from other frozen yogurt places like Yogurtland, Tutti Frutti, Creations etc… because they do not use yogurt flavor powder mixed with water to create the froyo. instead, they use real yogurt, which contributes to their froyo’s great texture.
Toppings are same as other places but seriously, their yogurt is so delicious that topping are not necessary. Lastly, I love LOVE their green tea and plain tart flavor! mm

To be honest, I don’t quite understand the popularity of ice cream. I, however, absolutely LOVE the light airy texture of froyo. I kept it simple and had the passion fruit flavor with fresh pomengranate topping. The nice crunch from the pomengranate seeds was the perfect compliment to the smooth creaminess of the frozen yogurt. I think I ate the whole thing. I could not stop when it’s that good.
There was also some very interesting art work on the walls, perfect as conversation topics.

This is my favorite place to get yogurt EVER! The texture, consistency, and flavor of their tart yogurt is thick and creamy… perfect! I absolutely love their taro tart, and I can’t seem to find it anywhere else. It doesn’t even need toppings, the yogurt itself is good enough to stand on its own. Whenever I’m having a bad day, I will walk the 8 blocks from my apt just to get it because Yogurt Harmony is the only thing that will pick me up.
Also, they have scrabble there! LOVE it. =)

Yogurt Harmony has a great selection of fruits and their yogurt is definitely high quality. I tried their organic chocolate yogurt and it wasn’t sickly sweet like other chocolate frozen yogurt. Instead, the chocolate yogurt here showcases a distinctively quality chocolate flavor reminiscent of expensive dark chocolate.
I had their yogurt smoothie with tapioca balls and again, it was not overwhelmingly sweet but allows the flavor of the fruit to come through. You can choose three kinds of fruit and I had pomegranate, raspberries, and mango.
I also tried their Thai iced tea with tapioca balls and again, it was not sweet at all. Yogurt Harmony must have read my mind when they selected their ingredients because I have never enjoyed yogurt and Thai tea more than I have at Yogurt Harmony. A better name for this place would be «Gourmet Yogurt.»
Highly recommended. A sophisticated yogurt establishment that outclasses all others!

Went because I had a coupon. Tried 2 samples: Plain & peach. Both were ok. Later they had red velvet but I didn’t get to try it. I got a small plain w/​coupon for $ 2.20.

Another Original Tart on my horizon. Another crisp cool shop and yet another punch card I won’t use again.
Yogurt Harmony’s Original Tart was too squishy. Yes, I know the last one was too hard… this one is too soft. Why no, those aren’t strands of gold in my hair.
In addition to the texture it was also portioned quite small and had a citrus-​y aftertaste. Oh and 95 cents per topping? Umm, you could maybe balance 8 strawberry halves on this… maybe.
Service was good, but the product and price for it just weren’t my thing.

I thought this place was just alright.
I remember getting the yogurt here once, a long time ago, and it was just okay.
But today, while I was walking to my friend’s apartment, I passed a sign that said «we are now serving milk tea!!»
So how could I resist?
It was only $ 1.98 or something cheap like that. So I ordered a green gemai milk tea thing, and it was okay. Some pearls were really nasty, some were good. It was all very weird!
But it quenched my thirst, and that’s what matters.

Oh, Yogurt Harmony, I feel like you betrayed me.
You teased me with your wifi and cool exterior.
You taunt me with your convienient location.
And yet, once I am with you, you scream me over.
You’re like a bad boyfriend, you seem so easy and chill, but once you’ve got me all you do is take my money and time and I have nothing left to show for it.
Ok, so anyways…
First of, there are only four different yogurt flavors: plain tart, pineapple, pistachio, and peach. Word of advice: if you advertise ‘yogurt’ in your name, sell some yogurt.
Secondly, I got one SMALL yogurt with two toppings (plain tart with oreos and mini m&ms), and it was $ 4.00. Ok, I’m not cheap, I like spending money. I work hard and I buy things I want. But $ 4 for a tiny cup of fro yo? Seriously?
I was craning my neck around the entire time to see if this alledged yogurt place had more than just four different flavors, but alas, it was just the four.
And yes, there are coffees and teas and shaved ice (really? yeah.) but come on, if you’re advertising yogurt, have yogurt.
And have better yogurt. The consistancy was a little too icy for my liking, not at all smooth like it usually is. I had to apologize to my friends for taking them in with me.
We literally left and went across the street to Yogurtland. And Yogurtland, I promise to remain faithful to you.

This might be a little biased since I am a HUGE fan of Hawaiian shaved ice (which yogurt harmony promises on its menu but FAILS FAILS FAILS to deliver) but onto the super serious business.
Plain tart yogurt is nothing to write home about, especially for the price and the stingy portions.
Teenagers are serving more often than not so customer service really just depends on if Miss Teen Thing had a good day or not.
The toppings don’t seem as fresh as other frozen yogurt chains I’ve been to, though mochi is mochi is mochi wherever you go. chi.
Free wi-​fi is good if you want to nom on some fro-​yo while you study, but the general verdict from this Unilocaler is to search for greener pastures.

Yogurt Harmony> Rynos, Pinkberry, Red Mango, Yogurt Park, Papa Mingos & Michelle’s. They’re frozen yogurt is tart, but not tangy, which i like, and it’s very reasonably priced! I think I paid $ 3 for a small plain yogurt. Also, shout out to the awesome staff! My friend and I went there 15 before closing (didn’t know it was going to close so soon) and the staff let us stay longer as they cleaned up. It was very kind of them to not kick us out even though it was just the two of us at the end of what probably was a very long work day for them. So

Classy joint. Incredible yogurt that would make ice cream jealous (did you try the Taro flavor? o.m.g. words FAIL ME), and nice art on the walls.
Cool clientele and knowledgeable, warm and friendly service.
Oh and what was that little rack of coffee drip filters next to the cash register? Do they make drip coffee to order?

Frantically trying to find a particular street to get home, by the luck of god I happen to look to my left and what to my eyes do I see, but a lovely looking yogurt place looking oh so pleasantly!
Yeaaah…I quickly found a place to park and went t skipping in. No I actually walked (at a fast pace) but felt like skipping.:)
Walked in to a small (though plentiful seating) bright, cheerful faced place.
Yogurt flavors of the day were:
Peach
Vanilla Custard (yum)
Plain
Cantaloupe
Cantaloupe texture was pleasantly refreshing and popped with an abundance of flavor very Identical to a Cantaloupe
Did not try peach or plain, being I’m not a fan of neither. I settled on one of my all time favorite flavor’s Vanilla Custard Mmmmmm.
Ordered one small of vanilla custard with mochi and whip cream
Vanilla Custard was Incredeble!! Texture was thick, unbelievably rich and creamy rolled right on to my toung like velvet, mochi was the perfect texture soft, chewy, endrenched in the Vanilla Custard along with the wonderfully creamy whip cream I was a happy girl :)
They also have shaved ice which is nice with some sugar free flavors as well, I believe S.F. Vanilla. They are a little pricey $ 3.25 for a small flavored yogurt and .95 per topping however this to me, is probably one of the most quality yogurt places around and with the rich creamy texture that is well worth the extra price… This will be a much visited place!

Love this place! Inside is bright and spacious! Lots of seating! Board games, artworks up on the walls, and you can recycle all of your waste (froyo cups, spoons, and napkins) there! They’re environmentally friendly! :D
I really liked the peach froyo! Got the XL shaved ice ($ 6.25) with peach froyo, FRESH strawberries, mangoes, and blueberries, also with shaved ice, condensed milk, red beans, and mochi!!! ahahhaa It was HUGE! I didn’t eat this all by myself of course! Had 2 other helpers! yay! :D
This place is super close to the BART station! Come! Come! You know you want some!

(l33t hax0r) We have an implementation and production tenant of a software that we’re integrating with another vendor. Simple stuff. You make all changes in implementation, QA the crap out of it, then repeat or refresh the changes in production. Everything is copacetic and magical hip hop smurf ninjas appear out of nowhere and help you rejoice in song and dance.
So this typical methodology works unless implementation gets upgraded to another version and you’re not done testing. Oh, and production stays static. Despite the fact that SaaS is *supposed* to be backward compatible, any changes made to production (and I’m talking 60 hours worth of stuff here), must now be manually mirrored in implementation because once production is refreshed, you’ve lost everything. And because you can only refresh from an older version to the newer, you must now forfeit your weekend to do a bunch of work.

Yeah, maybe I should have known better. But it’s too late now. The only thing that can make the entire situation better is Yogurt Harmony. They have free wi fi, which means I get to work in a cute little fro yo shop while hogging up all their bandwidth. And believe me, my applications are mighty and I require every bit of 802. xx goodness I can leech.
They also have strong coffee and espresso, so I can start shaking from too much caffeine and I can limit my work schedule to 9:30 PM, because that’s when they close.
I can also enjoy some of the most delicious, tart, firm yet creamy, fro yo goodness in Berkeley, all while oogling the hot CAL students that walk inside. Who said Fro Yo isn’t sexy?
The workers have been trained to heap on the toppings as well
. Yogurt Harmony offers mochi, fresh fruit, and the I-​never-​got-​it-​so-​why-​offer chocolates and candies that weird people top their fro yo with.
Flavored yogurt, though, starts at 75 cents more
, which is the only drawback to Yogurt Harmony’s perfection. Whatever. I’m sure some financial fro yo god determined they would make more money that way.
And for you Fro yo freaks that love fro yo: they have an XL size that is about the same size as a tub of ice cream. I will probably have to purchase this in order to drown away my woes, sorrows, and bitterness that the flavor of getting dumped left in my mouth.
Oh, and having to work this weekend, too.

Following a dinner disaster I decided to stuff myself with froyo instead. Yogurt Harmony wasn’t the place I had in mind, but I’m so happy to have found it. I stopped at the door because it was empty inside but the sign on the door said it is open until 9:30 PM on Sundays. I walked in. The friendly guy behind the counter directed my eyes to a sign that indicated «Today’s Flavors». I asked him if the peach was a tart flavor and he offered me a sample. Tart and peachy! I asked the same of the blueberry and he offered me a sample. Tart and fruity again!
They have four sizes and I seriously thought about the X Large size before conventional wisdom got the best of me. I ordered a medium of the blueberry and peach. He told me the swirl feature on that machine wasn’t working because the lever was broken so he offered to put one flavor on top of the other. That’s no problem for me; it’s all going in the same place. He was out of medium cups too so he used a large cup to fill my froyo order. All of the toppings are in clear covered containers. I chose my usual combo of strawberries, kiwis and blueberries.
There was a lot of yogurt in the cup (
). The yogurt was firm too with a creamy texture and it melted very slowly. To me the peach tasted more like peach than the blueberry did of blueberry, but both were delicious. I was fine with the medium tartness of the froyos. The treat filled me up so maybe it was a good thing that my dinner was a disaster.
There is plenty of seating with nature photography and cool wall art (
) from local artists. They use earth friendly paper cups and compostable spoons made from vegetable starches. The friendly service is excellent, and it’s just a short walk from the downtown Berkeley BART station. I’ll be back!

Absolutely LOVE LOVE LOVE this place ^ ^ Their toppings are all fresh and this is the only place i know that serves blackberries and pomegranate !! 2 of my favorite toppings ^ ^ Of course the also have the other usualy toppings such as bananana, mango, kiwi, strawberry, mochi, cereal, etc … I also noticed they had green tea yogurt also ^ ^ muahah gonna try that next time and i’ll let you know how it taste !! ^ ^

Situated is busy downtown area of Berkeley, Yogurt Harmony is one of the newest froyo shops which popped up recently. At first, I thought Nick from Harmony Yogurt in San Carlos opened up a new location but it was his store’s name, just the words were reversed. So, the name’s originality is pretty weak. I do have to give them kudos for using corn starch spoons and biodegradable cups for their yogurts. The place offers a student discount but you have to inform the cashier before they ring you up. The plain tart isn’t bad but I wasn’t wowed by it. At least this place uses fresh fruits and has better service unlike the other shops around Berkeley.
