The mission of The Treehouse is to help you find the perfect gift — one that you can feel good about purchasing… that’s because all of our products fit into one of four categories: handmade, recycled, organic, or fair-​trade. We offer complimentary gift-​wrap, gift certificates, and bridal and baby registries. We now offer the convenience of online shopping!

History

Established in 2007.

The Treehouse Green Gifts is the long-​awaited fulfillment of Maureen O’Neil Garcia’s dream of owning her own business. Maureen received an MSBA in Sustainability from San Francisco State University in 2007, and became interested in combining eco-​friendliness with handmade goods in a retail environment while managing the American craft gallery, Pot-​Pourri, in Burlingame, CA.

(+) Lots of interesting items here. It’s not all the same thing and I actually enjoyed browsing and walking around this little shop. From toys, books, clothes, they have quite a variety.
(+) Ninja shaped cookie cutters in several different action poses… this for some reason stood out as I thought about the stuff I saw here
(+) Appreciate all the baby related things… definitely a good place to find a creative or unique gift. Very eco-​friendly as a lot of the other reviews mention. of course, it’s in Berkeley :)

One of those stores that you could spend your whole paycheck. Everything is just… you need it all. It is so good!
So much creativity in here! Lots of unique, thoughtful gift ideas as well (even for yourself– you deserve it).
If you have a little one at home, you will adore this store because they have so much eco-​friendly merchandise for your babies.

Very nice store on college ave. They have a great jewelry selection, very cute. I’ve bought several necklaces here as well as some toys for my younger cousins (both parents and children loved them!). I would definitely recommend stopping by if you have the time, especially if you need gift ideas. :-)

Ok so here’s the low down… My spouse and I decided to do a random shopping day in Berkley at the little cool shops so I seen the greentree and everything was so neat and cool. I love house cool nicnacks. BUT the few women that work there made me feel extremely uncomfortable. The second I walk in a lady says to me «do you need anything?» And I thought to myself whoa kinda rude. Said no not yet. Then I make my way to the back after being in aw over the housewares and they asked me twice within 2 minutes if I was ready to be rung up… No lady I just wanna look around for a second without you on my back making me feel uncomfortable. To the point where I feel like I need to stand up straight and keep my hands to myself… 3 stars for the store 1 star for the 3 lady’s working there. Fix your customer sales attitude and clean up your act…

I found this place while looking for shops with a commitment to eco-​friendly products… Treehouse definitely meets that need! Most of it is geared towards kids, but there are some items for adults as well. The items were unique and of high quality too.

My absolute favourite gift shop! This place has beautiful jewellery, adorable baby things, amazing decorations, and so much more. The fact that everything is eco-​friendly make it even better. A perfect spot to stop by, weather you’re getting a gift for a friend, children, parents or partner. Treehouse will have something perfect!

I love this little gift store!
The space is not big but optimally occupied by all sorts of awesome, cute, unusual, whimsical gifts. Everything was very well organized too — baby/​infant toys/​clothing, jewelry, trinkets, knick knacks. They have a little bit of everything for a girlfriend, sister, mom, etc.
The kind lady who I presume to be the owner is most friendly and very sweet. She also artfully gift wrapped up one of my purchases in a snap. Talk about skills!
It’s incredibly difficult, if not impossible, to walk out of this store empty-​handed. I’ll definitely return when I’m in the area.

There definitely is a variety of gifts to get here. It’s amusing to just browse around and see if anything spots your eye. Some items can be a little bit on the pricier side. If you’re looking for something somewhat unique, this place wouldn’t be a bad choice. Otherwise, there’s not too much more about this place.
Service was okay. Lady was talking on the telephone for the nearly the entire time I was looking around.

I love this store! It’s my go-​to shop for cute gifts. Over the years I’ve bought jewelry, ceramics, bamboo bowls, vases, and more. Every time I walk down College Avenue it’s hard to resist stepping in to see what’s new.
One of the best parts is that they carry adorable Mark Poulin jewelry. Most recently I noticed they were carrying buttons with his cute animal designs. They have a great variety and I immediately bought a handful.
Definitely stop by this store if you want to find the perfect gift or just treat yourself to some jewelry, kitchenware, or home décor that will surely brighten your life. My roommate bought a hedgehog clock and the living room is now a better place.

If you’re in the neighborhood, I highly recommend visiting this store. The items are so cute and adorable! I feel like I can find something for anyone here. I like to drop by to try to find something for myself, but somehow I keep finding great gifts for other people. I’m happy there’s a place like this since getting the perfect gift for someone else can get a bit tricky.
The service is wonderful here, too. They offer gift wrapping (at least over the winter holidays) and they genuinely want to help you find something for someone special. Also, they carry jewelry from local artists, and it’s exciting to find new pieces on display. Check it out sometime!

This place is full of cute and nifty items! While they have a lot to sell, the store is well organized. If your looking for a lunch pail for your nephew, coasters for your aunt and a funky lamp for yourself, this is definitely the store to check out. Browse the funny toys and gifts by the cash register. They are perfect gag gifts (which are actually useful). I look forward to checking out their inventory again soon!

Quaint, durable, functional products, which are also eco-​friendly. What more can a lady ask for :)
The service is phenomenal!!! I was in a bind for a gift and found what I wanted on their website. I called ahead to the store, and the employee put the items aside (… she also pulled one of each size/​design so I can pick which one I wanted). When I arrive, the items were waiting for me and it was a quick in-​and-​out. Love!
Plus, got to love their gift wrapping.
We need one of these in San Diego!

Smitten by the selection — and everything is green to boot! This isn’t a place the cast of Portlandia would mock — this is a place the cast of Portlandia would quietly admire and probably shop at. If there are birds, they have deeply furrowed brows.

This is my go-​to spot for gifts for my mom. I’ve bought things ranging from jewelry to candles and a hummingbird feeder.
Love their selection and think the prices are reasonable. Cute baby gifts, though I am never shopping for those.

THE place to go in Berkeley for eco-​friendly stuff for your home and gifts. The jewelry choices are great. The people that work there have been helpful and let people touch everything. It is a nice little boutique. Hopefully it will expand in the future to add more items!
The parking is a bit of pain on College, so bring patience in that area.

Timing is everything, and this time I just didn’t have enough in my bank account to splurge the way my good taste wanted to. The small shop is very tastefully arranged and I spent a majority of my visit admiring their unique novelty and gift items, small home décor pieces, and toddler toys.
It was nice to see TOKENS. I remember in the early stages of my last relationship, I bought a few with values of «one hug» or «one kiss» for my guy: D No one to buy tokens for now but it was nice to see them here and be reminded of a very happy time in my life. I would have bought some just for scrapbooking sake but there were $ 1.25 a piece =/​I remember them only being $ 0.50 or so at the UCSD bookstore.
I’m hoping to save up some cash and come back before moving down to SoCal for another year of school. They have have plenty of stuff that would make great additions to my new apartment… or be amazing in gift bags or wrapping paper to be given to loved ones!

Super cute place to take the Eco friendly mom or local jewelry fanatic girl in your life. The place is super tiny but there’s so much adorable stuff; there are trinkets tucked into every corner. Kinda like etsy come to life.
I like to look at the earrings and wish I could pull them all off stylistically. Not all the jewelry is local but its definitely unique, handmade, & artisanal. The bags and lunchboxes are cute too (who needs Built NY?).
Please consider this business next time you are shopping for that lady in your life who is eco-​conscious, but has everything. It’s a great addition to Elmwood and if you get overstimulated by all the knick knacks, head across to Ici to cool off.

Wow. I saw this store on Unilocal and decided to stop in to buy a b-​day gift for a friend. Since the store is green oriented, I figured my green only gifts mantra was satisfied.
It is so incredibly cute and tasteful. I adored the plant/​herb growing kits, the jewelry, the candles, scarves, and the DIY food making kits. I bought a good luck window growing kit and gummy making kit for my friend.
I especially dug their bags and purses. I oooed and awwed for a good while till I finally picked out the cutest purse with little whales on it by bungelow 360. I spied some other bags, namely a good toiletry bag, pencil bag, and laptop bag that I will be treating myself to before I head off to the big bad PhD program. :)
Yea! Everyone should visit.

I really respect stores that try to sell items that are «green» so either handmade, recycled, or organic. That’s what you’ll find at this store. I was amazed to find a picture frame with a border of a bike chain or another picture frame made from an old record. They had items for children, garden, kitchen, daily life, and jewelry. I found cute, handmade earrings for my mom-in-law’s birthday for a pretty reasonable price.
