Staff: I was promptly greeted at the door, and when I mentioned I was placing a to-go order to take back to my room, I was immediately assisted. The individual taking my order was very pleasant, had a beautiful smile, and was full of good cheer. Food: I order a hamburger with swiss cheese and bacon that had an impressive menu name and served with a side of french fries. The portions were huge and I knew I couldn’t possibly eat two entrees, but I desperately wanted a salad. So, I ordered the wedge salad, too. I consumed less than half of both the items, because it was a lot of food, but I would recommend either entrée… or both. I was provided condiments in individually sealed glass containers and actual silverware with a cloth napkin(great touch). Price: The tab totaled about $ 35, but I really wanted the ease and convenience of just getting my meal at the hotel site. Service: I received my meal within 10 minutes of ordering. The restaurant wasn’t full, but the wait was enjoyable since there is a cozy firepit in the lounge, and the view of the marina is beautiful.

Food here is actually amazing. the NY steak were tender and cooked perfect medium rare excellent quality meat. the popcorn shrimp was probably the best I’ve ever had in my life! The battered weren’t over cooked and shrimp were nice and plump does not taste like pre –made frozen popcorn shrimp. service was assuming all the bad review was in the past and possible they are improving on customer service & quality food I was a bit scared seeing Unilocal review but I starving to death. Aziz was my waiter execellent server A+

This place was located in a banquet space. Thru the big grand deur of two doors you will find this remarkable or rather significant setting what one would the twilight zone. Set by assload of tables without any distinction of where is what resteraunt, I was appalled that this was a Hilton owned property. I have seen better in a inn or motel than this. I paid for my drink which was a amaretto cocktail for 13 freakin dollars. Um… Not even the hotels at Beverly Hills cost this much for one cocktail. Ladies and gentlemen, byob seriously…

They must be remodeling because the bar and lounge were located in the ballroom. Service was incredibly slow, considering there were maybe four other occupied tables, we waited about ten minutes but were never given the two cocktails we ordered. The bartender was sitting near another table talking to his friend, didn’t look like we were going to get our drinks any time soon, so we left. Dinner and breakfast are also now in the ballroom. What a strange place.

The food was overpriced, limited menu and arrived cold. Mamour the waiter was awful. Rude, snappy and lacking knowledge of his own restaurant. Hard to understand his accent(which is the least of the problems, he just made no attempt to be understood.) He left my food on a table next to ours and walked away and never came back to serve it to me. Now the bill came, with a table of 9(not even splitting the check) and he’s just now telling us their credit card machine is down and that it’s our fault that he didn’t tell us before we ordered. He *threatened* to get the manager… Who explained it can just be rung up at another register. Ridiculous. Other than the view, there’s no reason to come here.

Came exactly at 11 and the crew still attended us. Great service and food. The omelets are on hit! 5 stars for service.

What happened to this place?!? Started going down hill ever since new ownership. Closing restarting? Better bartenders and servers left and no longer work. Very sad to see such a beautiful setting not utilized.

Bay Grille makes my heart pitter patter with glee. We stay at the Doubletree often for business travel and order room service which comes from the Bay Grille. Finally after years of staying at the hotel we wandered over and sat down inside of the lounge. Wonderful service, beautiful views of the water, nice gentle music playing and of course the Double Angus burgers are so yummy. What took us so long to try them out! I cannot wait to stop by again and enjoy the outdoor seating or live music entertainment nights. The Pappardelle con Fungi is also very delicious.

We arrived at 11am and didn’t get greeted by a host/hostess. We had to ask a server to help us. At that point, he informed us that breakfast ended at 11 and we would have to move to another section to get served for lunch. Not a great start to our meal, but no biggie. Once we were seated, it took about 10 minutes for the waiter to come over even though the restaurant was mostly empty. Again — not a big deal — we weren’t in a rush. But these service lapses continued to add up. When one person in our party ordered coffee, the server brought it and spilled about 1⁄3 of a cup on the table. He did not bother to clean it up. Then, another person in the party ordered a pinot noir, and the server brought a chardonnay. This happened TWICE. A third person in our party ordered a blended margarita. He was told that the restaurant did not have a blender, and the only option was to get the margarita on the rocks. What kind of bar offers margaritas but does not have a blender? We waited about 25 minutes for our food to arrive. Once it did, we were not impressed. The fish tacos had fried fish. It was unnecessarily heavy and oily. The burger looked really good, as it had two patties and a nice brioche bun, but the meat was bland and overcooked. There were some positives to the experience: the view from the restaurant is beautiful, and the bar was nice. They had a nice patio outside. But with the service this bad, and the food so mediocre, we won’t be back — even though we have been coming to the Doubletree for years. They used to have a great brunch, but no longer.

We were there on vacation, and I wanted to check out the restaurant. I had some appetizers, the glazed pork belly and the Mac and cheese. Sounds simple enough, but it was excellent ! Not to mention, the pretty African American hostess was very friendly and classy, and made me feel welcome. If I am back there ever again, this restaurant will be my choice. Nice fire pits and nice view of the marina too!

Average looking hotel grill, but surprisingly good food. Had the scallop sliders which were amazing with the aioli sauce and perfectly crunchy. My son had the bacon man & cheese which I expected to be garbage like all restaurant Mac & Cheese, but let me tell you, this just might be the best Mac & Cheese from a restaurant I’ve had. Only gave 4 stars because the seating was unorganized and we waited awhile before even eating menus. Didn’t know if we were supposed to wait to be seated or just seat ourselves, so we just sat, which in turn ended up being what everyone was doing. The negative part of that is that the lone waitress didn’t know who to serve first because she wasn’t able to track the order of who sat first.

Food was good service was terrible! What ever you do, DONOT go in for breakfast 10 minutes before 11. The waitress didn’t want to take our orders because they close in 10 minutes. Then when we were finally able to order the lady said, in very broken English, «you have buffet no ordering from menu». When we did order she forgot our drinks and sides. Needless to say we ate breakfast which was good. I also recommend not sitting by the bay windows. The view was beautiful but it was hot as heck. Overall would not recommend eating here.

Ate here last night during holiday stay at attached hotel. Service was terrible. It took 45 minutes to be served an appetizer. My ice cream for dessert was melted when it arrived. My friend who came to join me never was greeted or served. I love the location and views but the restaurant needs to improve to keep up with the clientele from the hotel.

Came by for breakfast the other day and it was pretty close to a disaster… The Bay Grilled & Lounge is connected to the 3.5 diamond Doubletree Berkeley Marina. There are beautiful views of the bay. Upon arrival in the morning, there was no hostess to bring me to my table… The breakfast buffet was lackluster. …the eggs, sausage, bacon, and potatoes were pretty much run-of-the-mill. Their«dim sum» was over-steamed and rubbery… at least they tried? .at least their fruits were good. …their pastries didn’t look appealing either. $ 14 for a continental breakfast or $ 18 for a «full» hot breakfast buffet. …good thing my breakfast was comped by the front desk agent?!?

Good food and great views, but slow, disorganized service. I would only recommend eating here if you are not hungry and have a lot of time to burn. But if you aren’t hungry, I don’t know why you would eat. Unless you are just bored…

Summary: great view, ok service, menu is ok but food is lacking. Food: well it is a hotel restaurant. In this case it is a negative. Food isn’t creative and flavored are mediocre at best. Had the pulled pork and colleague had the crab and artichoke dip. Dip was grease and lacked flavor. Pulled pork tasted like out of a frozen bag. Wine: ha what wine. Nice me is they had no stock. View great!

Before a local trade show located in the hotel, the same hotel this restaurant is located in, I decided to have a nice lone lunch. I was seated near the window overlooking the marina. The view is very nice on a warm day. However, the sun was so blazing hot through the window I had to ask to have the blinds pulled down. I will warn you. Its incredibly hot at the window seats. In retrospect Id have rather sat away from the windows. My entrée was the Corn and Seafood Risotto. When I ordered my food the waitress looked at me like I made up the food I ordered. I repeated it twice and she acted like she didn’t know what I was talking about. I then pointed at it on the menu and then she realized what I was talking about. Odd? I passed on the table bread that they offer. I figured risotto was enough carbs for me. It was a really delicious dish. The corn was fresh and crunchy and if I had to suspect, it was probably locally grown. The scallops were plump and plentiful. The combination was perfect and the sauce wasn’t overwhelming at all. Since I was already overheating from the blazing sun from the window, I started to have the carb sweats from eating. Its a definite winter weather friendly food option but I didnt care. I loved the combination and was really satisfied. Service was slow and by the time the waitress came back I barely had time to go to my trade show. I wasn’t expecting such a nice meal from the looks of the place. But I liked it. Id come back for client lunch again.

I brought my girlfriend here hoping for a romantic date. It was less than romantic, the vibe was just meh and the food was extremely slow to come out. Keep in mind that there was a total of about 4 people here(two groups, one being us). Although the service was very nice and considerate, the staff in the back was slow. Must have been one cook only, cause it took us about 20 minutes to get the clam appetizer, and another 20 for the meal. The clams and mussels were real real good though! Can’t bash them for that! The view is alright, nothing special. Waterfront isn’t really water front when there are a bunch of boats blocking the way ha. Each main entrée is about 20 – 30 bucks, we got the salmon, and the rib eye, 26 and 27 bucks each. Not worth the price by any means, but I understand that this is upper scale… right? Anyways, if I could go back in time, I would go somewhere else because of price ultimately. But perhaps one day when I am a baller shot caller, I will be able rate this place 4 stars instead of my 3.267(rounded down)
