Lessons: I can teach you how to sail on your own boat or one that I supply. I can teach up to six people at one time, depending on the class, although most classes have four students. I hold a US Coast Guard Masters license.
Classes are individually tailored to meet your specific needs after we get through the basics and are typically two to four days. Workshops are typically a four– to six-hour, half day (or long evening).
Charters: These super-fun adventures range from day-long (eight-hour) cruises to four-hour night cruises.
I’m currently offering the following:
Lessons
o Basic Cruising lesson
o Night time Crew Overboard workshop
o Night time Cruising workshop
o Heavy Weather workshop
o Docking and boat-handling workshop
o Team Building
Charters
o Day Cruise! (Summer rates now apply)
o Night time Cruise (Summer rates now apply)
o 4th of July Cruise, 2011 (fills up fast)
o America’s Cup Bay Cruise (dates TBD)
History
Established in 2005.
I have been teaching sailing and doing my own sailing for over 20 years; I started doing it formally in 2005. I’ve taught hundreds of people to sail.
I hold a United States Coast Guard Merchant Marine Officer license as a «Master of Steam, Motor or Auxiliary Sail Vessels of not more than 50 Gross Registered Tons (Domestic Tonnage) upon Inland Waters and an Operator of Uninspected Passenger Vessels (OUPV) upon Near Coastal, with both Sailing and Towing endorsements.
I also have ASA and US Sailing Instructor certifications.
During the summer months, I try to go sailing at least a couple of times a week. These days, I’m mostly sailing my boat (a Sabre 30) out of Brickyard Cover, Pt. Richmond or out of Sausalito. When I’m not doing that, I’m teaching sailing at various locations around the bay and elsewhere.
