Stephanie Bruce

Stephanie Bruce rules. As a teacher, she is direct, often funny, warm and no-​nonsense. Her honest feedback can lead you to know your voice more objectively and listen to it more compassionately.
I was her student in private and group classes for the last year or so. She’s taught me excellent breathing techniques and music theory fundamentals. Privately and in group classes, she’s given me plenty of detailed instruction that helped me recognize my vocal strengths and strengthen my weaknesses.
Stephanie is tremendously supportive of other singers both as a teacher and as an artist. She recognizes and appreciates the individual stamp of each human voice, and one of the great things about the group classes was hearing through her ears, as it were — hearing the true character of our voices revealed over time. She respects the voice as a human instrument with unique qualities.
If you study from her, your voice and your approach to songs and singing will improve. And you’ll have a whole lotta fun in the process.

When I first started singing I took private lessons from Stephanie, she really helped me lauch into singing and was instrumental in launching me into my career as a singer.
I saw she was teaching a song writing class as the Jazz School, I signed up and was once again really impressed with her knowledge and ability to really pull out the creative side of me to write a song. Then we worked together a few weeks later to finish up what we had started in class.
For anyone wanted to start learning the art of singing or to take their already excisting vocal chops to a whole other level, I would definitly tell you to go work with Stephanie.

I found Stephanie on craigslist after looking for a singing teacher. She was very helpful in getting me to use the proper technique when I sing to avoid straining and injuring myself. Her nice demeanor is a plus when learning something tricky like how to sing, and her location right next to Ashby bart makes lessons easy to get to. Overall I think she is an excellent teacher, has reasonable rates, and is perfect to go and see if you are new to singing.
