Great prices, friendly staff, late hours open, and they always make my drink in a timely manner, even if it’s busy! Seriously one of my most fav boba spots.
I usually order the oolong milk tea with boba, and sometimes I add oreos! SO GOOD.
I take advantage of their sugar level customizations as well.

I was introduced to this place back in 2014 from my little sister. She suggested that this place is the new spot to be as the crema is out of this WORLD! I had ordered their matcha green tea crema. I have ONE word; AMAZE-​ZING! How do I describe this drink? A bit bitter from the matcha green tea which I love as it’s not powdery! The crema adds such a nice finish as it’s sweet, salty and smooth (I always get extra! nommies)

The atmosphere is pretty chill, but parking is horrible as it is across the street from Cal.

My favorite drink here is the mango milk tea with boba and pudding. The passion fruit green tea is really good too. Drinks are made very quickly, only a few minutes even if the line to order was long. The service here is so-​so.

My go to boba place near campus. It’s more on pricier size but they give you good portions. I go back and forth between their classic milk tea, hokkaido, and okinawa. The brown sugar drinks are sweet so I usually don’t add boba when I get it. their boba is pretty on point and i’ve had few bad experiences.
It’s right across campus so it’s always packed with students and tables scarce.

I was instantly overwhelmed by the plethora of choices they offer here and decided to go with a classic peach black tea. I’m happy to say I wasn’t disappointed! I could actually taste the black tea which is unusual for a lot of these kinds of places since they pile on the sugar in their drinks. Definitely a refreshing choice! Their service was excellent as well: very fast & friendly.

I’ve heard so many great things about Share Tea so I gave it a try. It’s good but I don’t see what the hype is. It’s just like any other tea or boba place. I guess the only difference might be you can mix flavor and control how sweet you want it but other than that it’s just tea.

I remember the hype when it first opened, and I was so excited because besides Asha’s, there isn’t really any good Asian boba/​tea place in Berkeley.
There’s a wide variety of drinks on the menu, but I usually don’t come here unless there’s a fundraiser here because the drinks are pretty sweet, and the quality of tea isn’t comparable to Asha’s. I usually stick to the milk tea, half sweet, to be safe. Definitely go to Asha’s if you’re looking for quality tea!

Sharetea is my go-​to boba spot in Berkeley. I remember seeing a bunch of these in Taiwan but never got around to trying them while I was there. When one opened right across from campus, my homesickness and constant search for yummy boba brought me here. And I fell in love.
I love that most drinks come with a customizable choice of ice and sweetness level, since I don’t like my drinks too sweet or too icy. However, I usually go a level lower than what other people recommend when I tell them I want something not too sweet. Even at 50% sugar, some drinks still tend to be too sugary.
I recommend:
–winter melon tea (less than half sugar) with boba: sweet, refreshing melon tea
–okinawa milk tea (less sugar): more on the sweet side, but the brown sugar base is delicious and you can taste the fresh tea
–oolong milk tea (80% sugar): milky milk tea, soothing and light
–hot real taro with milk: real taro chunks in milk, perfect for a cold night
There are usually lines at night when students are out of dance practices or out of classes, but they tend to go by quickly. I wish this place had snacks other than chips.

Sharetea is still by all means my favorite boba spot in Berkeley/​near campus, but it isn’t consistent in its taste and quality. Many days are a hit, while some are a miss. After a few flops with the Mango & Passion Fruit Green Tea (which was my go-​to drink), I decided to try some other drinks on their menu. I started with their recommended/​most popular drinks. The orange juice in the Kiwi Ice Jelly Fruit Tea overpowered the taste and was just too sour (in addition to the sourness from the Kiwi). The Oolong Milk Tea is quick decent as well as the black milk tea with 80% sweetness. The Mango Creama didn’t work for me either. Hoping to find a new favorite drink on the menu soon… until then I will continue to try more drinks & waste all my $$ on Sharetea!

I’ll keep this short.
I like their fruit teas more than anything. The boba is great and so are the toppings. My personal fav is peach green tea! Just wish it was like a 1.50 cheaper. But the quality is great.

Quick and friendly service. This is a bustling little shop that churns out great bubble milk tea or «boba» as it is known. If those pearls aren’t your thing, you can opt for pudding, red beans, grass jelly and much more. There’s a lot of variety of drinks to choose from and you can customize it any way you want. My fave is the Matcha Red Bean!

SO I’m that crazy kid who was buying up all those gift card deals (ex: $ 200 for $ 250 credit) and using them up insanely fast, so I think it’s safe to say that Sharetea changed my life when it opened my sophomore year of college… Its close proximity to campus effectively ruined any self control I’ve had regarding boba. Only now when I am about to graduate in a month am I finally able to say that I’m doing well with boba rehab. No more buying Sharetea more than once in a day!
Sharetea was the undisputed best boba in Berkeley for me for a very long time, but that was until I discovered the amazingness of Asha’s. To this day, I still enjoy getting Sharetea because it’s always consistent with quality and convenient. There are a LOT of boba places, but this is still one of the best places around.
My favorite drinks have to be Okinawa pearl milk tea with 80% sugar and Mango milk tea with boba and 50% sugar. Other solid ones are honey milk tea with boba and black milk tea with ice cream and boba (super refreshing!). Unless you want a major sugar rush and/​or headache, you should always try to reduce the sugar.
Out of all the drinks I’ve tried, I have to say that the matcha with red bean was the most disappointing. Not a good sign when you’re not tasting any matcha flavor.

Comparing it with the other places in the area, share twa is definitely the best tapioca milk tea, is in a good area (by UC Berkeley), service is really fast even when is crowded, and the price is average.
Okinawa is my favorite

Let me start with a caveat — I still love ShareTea, and this is still my favorite place for boba. But with that being said (and after multiple visits here), I must say that this place misses the mark.
Let me start with the positives. The ambiance is great! It’s a spacious (enough) with great table arrangement. Personally, I love to sit either at the table on the elevated end or the ones by the sliding door/​window. It’s a great place to people watch while I enjoy my boba. Service is also quick and easy.
Now, the negative: consistency. Every time I go here, I tend to order the same thing — taro milk tea with pudding, 80% sugar. However, every time I get my order it always taste different than my previous order. Sometimes the taste isn’t too different, but other times it’s like I ordered diluted taro milk tea or taro milk tea with sugar on steroids! I didn’t mind it at first, but I’m getting disappointed at the fact that I can’t get a consistent taste. I’m a safe eater (as illustrated by my regular order), so I like to know what I’m going to get in advance rather than figure it out when I get it.
I’m still going to frequent ShareTea, but please management try to establish a system where you can better guarantee a consistent flavor in your milk teas.

This Sharetea location is adjacent to Berkeley, so you’ll find it to be pretty crowded and loud most of the time. When I was there on a Thursday night, there was a constant line to the door. They’re busy and efficient, but not so much at keeping the place clean. I’d attribute that to their awesome drinks! They’re too busy keeping up with the drink orders!
I’ve had Sharetea at other locations before, and this one is great as well! I had the Mango Green Tea Creama (one of their Top 10) and it was wonderful! It’s different from your typical boba drink. You use a little plastic knife that they provide, and make two slits at opposite ends of the cup, then sip through the hole! I ordered boba with it and had to put a straw in it to get to them. I think next time I’ll skip the boba and enjoy the drink on it’s own!
Definitely will be back when I’m in the area!

This used to be my go to spot back when I lived nearby. This location is super convenient if you live nearby or if you’re just hanging around campus. I came here all the time, and it’s nice that they have a frequent buyer card too.
This location is pretty small. There’s decent seating inside, but it’s always super loud. There’s a few tables inside, but usually packed so it’s hard to get a table. Definitely more of a grab and go place.
My drink of choice: matcha green tea with red bean. And sometimes when it’s hot outside, I get it blended! I personally think it’s delicious and love the selection of teas and toppings. This is one of the first places that I found that had red bean, so I was super excited! You can also get things blended with red bean too.
Another thing to try that’s pretty Sharetea-​specific are their creamas. I ususally don’t go for this, but it seems to be pretty popular and people usually love them. They also give you the little plastic knives to cut the lid and drink the creama part.
Prices are consistent with other higher end milk tea places. And considering all the variations they do, all the ingredients, and options you have, I don’t think it’s too bad. It’s generally around $ 4 for a regular size (which is a larger size compared to other places).

Sharetea never disappoints me it’s in a good location unless you want parking: P and sometimes the line is long, but there’s a reason why probably because of the awesome cashiers XD

Been here quite often since starting college last Fall. Sometimes the lines are super long, other times not so much. I usually order the Oolong Milk Tea with boba/​pudding. The workers are really quick; quick to the point where if you wanted to make a change to your order they’re already done making it. The cashier was like, «too late. Sorry!» Anyways, one of the more consistent and good quality boba places around Berkeley.

An authentic Taiwanese boba chain that serves high quality milk teas with their signature «cremas.»
The best drinks here are the various milk teas: I’ve tried the High Mountain, Oolong, and Okinawan and all are pretty good. The boba is usually a good texture (though it is unsweetened). The topping to get is the crema — you can get sea salt or just plain (which is still sweet), and you can then mix it into your tea to add a nice creamy taste and consistency.

With several other boba places just a few blocks away from here, Sharetea doesn’t really stand out too much.
The first time I came here, I thought it was SO GOOD. The fruity tea I got was just sweet enough, not too tart, and the boba was perfect. However, the more I come here, the more mediocre it seems.
Most recently, I got the taro boba tea with lychee jelly. It wasn’t very sweet at all, and the only sweetness I got from it came from the lychee jelly. On the plastic lid, I could see splotches of purple, which I could only guess were taro powder or something that didn’t get mixed in well.
Luckily my boyfriend had a discount from Fivestars, because otherwise I would have paid almost $ 6 for this. Sharetea seems like a decent place to chill, but it’s much too loud to get any actual work done.

Something about the quality at this one isn’t right, not very friendly either.

Sharetea is the go to spot for boba among me and my friends!
While there are many, many other (and cheaper) options for boba nearby, Sharetea is still my number one spot to go. I’ve tried a lot of different drinks and I’m almost always pleasantly surprised. The drinks are super customizable from sugar levels to ice level which I find super helpful since I don’t like to have super sweet drinks.
All in all, Sharetea is my favorite place to get boba near UC Berkeley.

The drinks: I really like that you can specify the amount of sugar and ice in the tea. Sometimes boba can be WAY too sweet and the ice can really water boba down, so I like the ordering option. With that said, keep in mind that sweet means SWEET here; I would definitely opt for a range lower than what you’re usually used to. Out of all the boba places in Berkeley, I think Sharetea has one of the best varieties in Berkeley. I love the honey milk tea and jasmine milk tea. Some of the names here may be unfamiliar, but if you have a question around a certain drink, the staff is always willing to help. However, I’m not the biggest topping fan for boba, and I think that’s one of the things that makes Sharetea popular – I’ve heard pretty good things about their pearls and jellies.
The atmosphere: Heads up, the seating here is super limited. There’s probably only 3 tables, and given the popularity of the place, you’re gonna have a hard time finding a place. That being said, most people are only here for a quick chat, so if you’re patient enough, you can find a place. This place opened up fairly recently, but I think the hype has died down a little. If you go on top of the hour or around 4/​5pm the line might be out the door. But the line goes quickly, and they serve the drinks fast.

Convenient location and open late — great for late boba runs when I’m in Berkeley. My go to drink is Okinawa pearl milk tea, but when I go with friends, they also get handmade taro fresh milk and classic pearl milk tea.
The store front is pretty small and there aren’t that many seats, so it’s not ideal for hanging out unless you’re lucky and catch a seat. Otherwise, I usually just stop by to pick up drinks. It can also be a bit messy and on the dirtier side (likely just from the amount of foot traffic).
The servers are a hit or miss. Some of them are really helpful and enthusiastic, others are not so much. Also, I’ve never been charged extra here for asking for «no ice» (like I was at the Sharetea in the Metreon in SF), and they’ve always informed me when something would be an extra charge.

I always order Taro milk tea, which I think is the best always!
A card of 200 dollars is available that they would give you ²⁰⁄₃₀ (forget the exact number) dollars extra!

Sharetea was a solid 4 stars when it first opened. I noticed the quality began to go down after Sharetea was open for a few months, but for the most part Sharetea was still reliably decent.
U Cha down the street took away much of Sharetea’s buzz, but the one thing that kept me coming back to Sharetea was the Kiwi fruit tea with ice jelly (and boba, for me). Until today.
I ordered a Kiwi Fruit Tea with Ice Jelly and Boba, and immediately took it to go. By the time I opened it and began drinking, I immediately noticed that there were several bare lemon/​orange seeds in my cup. Not just a few, but literally every sip of the drink pulled up two seeds. These aren’t even kiwi seeds?! Bye Sharetea, hello U Cha.

Convenient location to the Berkeley campus! I got the kiwi fruit tea with jelly (the best seller on the fruit tea menu). This was actually my first kiwi flavored «boba» drink and it was quite refreshing. Not too sweet and not too «artificial» tasting.
My friend got a traditional pearl milk tea drink and it was better than the milk teas I’ve had at other boba places-​soft, chewy pearls and just the right amount of sweetness.
Cost is really in-​line with other boba places (in the South Bay), but I think the regular size cup here is larger than other places!

Sharetea is definitely one of my favorite bubble tea places in Berkeley. Located conveniently on Bancroft next to UC Berkeley, this place is a great spot for students, visitors, and non-​student adults like me. Sharetea started in Taiwan, and with a successful franchise in Malaysia, eventually made its way to the United States. Thank god it did because man do we need better and better bubble tea places here in California, so I do not have to get on a plane to Taiwan.
TEA: I have only been here twice, but both times I have been the drink has been good. The consistency in the quality is much appreciated! I have gotten the regular milk tea with pearls as a baseline to compare among other bubble tea places. I found the tea to be of the right strength and also the pearls were cooked to perfection!
The second time I came I got the creama (for those Mandarin speakers, I believe it’s ‘nai2 gai4’), which has been gaining lots of popularity in Taiwan. Creama is where there is a layer of cream at the top, and you are able to drink it sort of like a coffee where you will get a bit of a salty/​creamy taste from the cream with a bit of your tea. Not for all I would say, especially since some people would not like the salty taste of the cream, but I thoroughly enjoyed it. If you get it and don’t like it, take your straw and mix the whole mixture together, it will taste like regular milk tea.
In addition to that, this place also does the percent ice and percent sugar, which is great since everybody has different tastes. I find that 30 or 50% sugar is good enough for me, and if the day is hot enough, I will go up to 70% ice. I try to go lower to about 50% ice, but you never know how hot it can be with this recent heat wave!
SERVICE: Fast, attentive, everything you would expect. Great thing about this place too is that they will remake the drink if you want to if it is not up to your satisfaction.
Overall, Sharetea is a win in Berkeley. I will definitely be back every time I am around downtown to enjoy a nice cold bubble tea drink.

This place is pretty good! I got the HONEY MILK TEA and it was delicious! I really like that it wasn’t too milky, so I can definitely taste the honey and the tea.
I got to try the BLACK MILK TEA with GRASS JELLY and the BLACK MILK TEA with BOBA. I really liked the flavor of the grass jelly. For some reason I taste a hint of coffee, but that might just be in my mind. Good sweetness to it. For the one with boba, I dont know why, but this one wasn’t sweet at all.

Conveniently located on Bancroft, Sharetea is hard to miss since there’s always a big crowd of people around the store (both inside and outside). Despite the line, you’ll be in and out within 15 minutes.
What makes their drinks different from other boba places? You can change the amount of sugar in your drink; so you can have 0, 25, 50%, etc. sweetness. Although beware! I thought their 25% was pretty sweet.
Their boba is not the best. It’s rather hard and chewy (not in a good way). I would probably ask for a different topping, such as a jelly or pudding.
Their menu is HUGE. You’ll have many options to choose from; milk teas, fruit teas, slushies, and other coffee drinks are all available! I’ve had their coffee milk tea (at 25% sweetness) and it was decent.

DRINKS
My go tos are the OOLONG MILK TEA (50% sugar) and the GRAPEFRUIT GREEN TEA (50% sugar).
Oolong MT: The oolong milk tea has a very creamy taste to it and the tea flavor definitely comes through. Drinking milk tea makes me feel a bit heavy though so having this is definitely a treat!
Grapefruit Green Tea: The grapefruit green tea is what I alternate with when I’m craving something lighter and more refreshing. The grapefruit taste is really fresh (even though it’s probably not real 100% grapefruit) and it’s not bitter at all, which some grapefruit green teas at other boba shops can be.
Others I’ve tried:
Okinawa MT: What sucks is that the lowest sugar level you can go to is 70% which is still WAY too sweet for me especially with the boba which has sweetness to it already. It’s definietly a HUGE treat if I get it and usually by halfway point I’m a little bit sick of it just because of how sweet it is. I’d really hope for a 50% sugar version or even lower just because I love the taste of the Okinawa MT. The black sugar taste really comes through and it just gives an amazing aroma to the milk tea. And it pairs absolutely well with the boba too.
Brown Rice MT: Meh, it’s okay. I felt it was a bit bland compared to the Oolong and Okinawa but that’s probably just because brown rice tea is a lighter tea than the other two. Nothing too special imo.
Passion Fruit Green Tea: Really good and refrshing too. I just don’t like the seeds in it but otherwise the flavor is super fruity. A good combo of sweet and slightly tart just like grapefruit. If you don’t like grapefruit, try this out.
Honey Green Tea: Great with aloe and it’s perfect when I’m also looking for something lighter but sweeter than the grapefruit. The grapefruit has a hint of tartness just from the fruit itself but since this is pure honey it’s definitely on the sweeter side. Sucky part is also that the lowest sugar level is 70%.
Wintermelon Tea: This is actually really good! I was pretty scared of iit at first but I found it to be really refreshing, but it definitely leans towards the sweeter side. I’d suggest at least 50% sugar if not lower. It has a very «wintermelon“y taste that I can’t quite describe but it’s a warm almost brown sugar-​y tasting tea. If you’re feeling adventurous, give it a shot!
Whole lemon green tea: Not worth it to me just becase they throw the whole lemon in and you get a lot less of the drink than you would if you ordered any other drink. I’d go for a fruit tea rather than this.
TOPPINGS
BOBA IS THE WAY TO GO. Sharetea always has it down to the right chewiness. Chewy but not gummy, and most of the time it’s not soft and soggy which I absolutely hate. They cook the boba in black sugar I believe which is a lot different from other boba shops that cook their boba in honey. The black sugar smell and taste definitely comes through because it infuses that black sguar sweetness into the boba. You can even smell that black sugar sweetness when you walk by Sharetea’s store itself.
ALOE is another one of my favorites if I’m not feeling boba (which is very rare). Aloe pairs really well in my opinion with fruit teas like grapefruit green tea, passion fruit green tea, honey green tea etc. It has a slightly chewy texture and it’s definitely healthy for you! Good for the skin :)
SERVICE
Cashier is pretty to the point usually but those serving the drinks and calling numbers tend to be pretty friendly! They’ve always asked if I needed a bag etc etc. Line gets long at random times but these past few times I’ve been there’s luckily been not much of a line.
OVERALL
Highly highly HIGHLY recommend the OOLONG MILK TEA with BOBA (50% sugar) and GRAPEFRUIT GREEN TEA with BOBA or ALOE (50% sugar). ENJOY!!! :) Best boba you’ll get in the bay!

I consistently love to go to share tea. They have a wide variety of milk (dairy free) and fruit teas with the usual toppings. They have also started selling some simple food items like fries and chicken wings.
One thing I like about share tea is you can customize the amount of sugar and ice in your drink. I personally love to get the grapefruit green tea with less ice and 30% sugar with either the mini pearls or lychee jelly.
I love coming here for the tea and the staff is very friendly. However I always take my drink to go. This place is always packed with people and the few tables are usually dirty.

No doubt I like Sharetea.

I am on a quest to find a great boba place in NorCal. There aren’t many boba places around my house that I enjoy. Sharetea is one of the few that I do.
The first time I ever tried Sharetea, I got the oolong tea crema and oolong tea with a scoop of ice cream. I thought the oolong tea crema was too sweet due to the crema. The oolong tea with ice cream was perfect.
Recently, I got the roasted brown rice tea with a scoop of ice cream. And I really enjoyed it. I thought it tasted better than the oolong tea one. As you can tell, I love that scoop of vanilla ice cream with my teas. So I definitely recommend getting a scoop of ice cream with your tea.
The place is kind of clean and the service is fast. The staff is really friendly and willing to answer any questions you have (like what’s mountain tea and beauty tea).
Parking around this area is a bit difficult. But once you find a parking, there are a bunch of food places you can check out around there.
