Paul went 1000% beyond our expectations on all aspects of buying a new home in the East Bay. We reached out to him to view an Open House listing. He came with a few add’l suggestions for us that we discussed and approve over email that all turned out to be very high on the list. He put the time and effort to understand what we were really looking for. Once we started to close in on our top choice, we asked Paul if he could show us 5 add’l houses on a few mins notice on a weekday so we can be sure we’ve seen all the alternatives and gone with the best choice and he made it happen! We did move forward with our top choice house and put in an offer. Paul led all the negotiations for us and even arranged for a great contractor to come in and evaluate all the work the house needed. We went back and forth three times with the offer and in the end, ended up pulling out from our offer which also created additional work and a tricky situation around receiving our initial deposit back. At this point, Paul did not have any financial incentive left in the deal but he worked his hardest to ensure that we got our deposit back. He kept us fully in the loop, calling us regularly to give us updates, and ensuring he won’t rest till we got the deposit returned. And we did! We’re definitely working with no one else but Paul on our next home purchase and we would recommend him in a heartbeat to anyone. You will not find a better, more responsible, thoughtful, and knowledgable real estate agent than Paul. We consider him a partner and a friend. Paul, you’re amazing! Thank you–

As first time home-​buyers, Paul was the perfect agent to work with. He’s incredibly patient informative, and taught us everything we know about what it means to buy a home. Paul is an honest person, and never sugarcoated the East Bay housing market. He was incredibly flexible with his schedule and was always willing to work with meeting us on the weekends or after work. Having an agent you can rely on and trust made both of us feel so much more prepared to make the quick and tough decisions that are required to get into contract with a house. Once in escrow, he continued to be an amazing communicator, teacher, and bulldog that helped us successfully negotiate our contract and get us our keys in less than three weeks.
On top of that, Paul’s an incredibly friendly, smart, and thoughtful guy — and we’re so grateful that our new house is just a few blocks away from his!

Paul Talbot is an amazing real estate agent. He will work relentlessly until you find the right place. During the two plus years that he worked with us (very indecisive, first-​time buyers) he never gave up. When we met him, we didn’t even have a loan pre-​approval, something that had already deterred other agents from wanting to work with us. Paul was happy to help us through that process and, once pre-​approved, to start the more serious house-​hunt.
In this crazy Bay Area market, it took a long time for us to be really ready to bid. He would never show signs of impatience through the dozens of houses he would find for us. He would say, with total confidence, «we would find the perfect place for you guys» and indeed he did! On our second bid, and for a price we were more than confortable with.
He also made sure the quite tricky negotiation process run smoothly, and, once the house was ours, held our hands through every step of the paper work.
Since he’s very knowledgeable in house remodeling himself, he even helped with the house renovations by recommending contractors, materials, walking us through the process of requesting permits in Oakland, etc.
And, to our surprise, he presented us with a lovely welcome-​to-​the-​neighborhood goodie bag!

Paul was the absolute perfect real estate agent! Not only is he a joy to be around with his positive friendly attitude and fun sense of humor, he is also extremely hard working. He is always responsive, works crazy hours to make sure we meet our deadlines, and truly goes the extra mile for his clients. He helped us through many «tedious» tasks, like reading through hundred page long documents to give us an easily digestible summary, calling and corresponding with multiple listing agents and HOAs, showing us properties on weekends or late evenings to accommodate our schedule, etc. Even after we closed on a place, he continued to help check in on us, guided us through our move in, made sure we understood many of the hidden rules/​regulations of the HOA so that we could be well informed going into our new community. The list goes on! You’d be crazy not to work with this guy.

This review is a long time coming, as Paul helped me buy my first house in February 2014, but better late than never. Paul was great to work with, understood how involved/​uninvolved I wanted to be in certain parts of the process, and facilitated my purchase with the highest professionalism. I was entirely comfortable with him communicating on my behalf with the seller’s agent, and he really went to bat for me on a couple of issues with the price, contingents and the mortgage company. He was indispensable in terms of making me feel like I really had someone on my side and representing my interests all the way from property searching to closing. I will definitely use him again the next time I buy/​sell a home.

Working with Paul made my house buying experience easy and stress-​free. We found pictures of a house we liked and Paul got us in that day to see it and negotiated a great offer on the house when we decided to pursue it. He also negotiated a seller refund for an old heating system and made sure that everything was working and looked in good condition right with us while we were on site at the house. He is really involved in the home buying process and makes his clients feel comfortable and at ease as he is there to explain and walk you through anything you have questions or concerns about regarding the house. He even provides timelines, letting you know what needs to be done step by step, as well as easy online signing for all paperwork.
