My family has been taking their cars, old and new, to Panel Craft for decades. We have always received superior service, the quality of repairs has been consistently excellent and a great value.

These guys are super dilligent and trustworthy. I have been using them for years and they continue to provide excellent service. In a sea of incompetence they offer fair prices and great quality accompanied throughout by clear, frequent communication.

I can’t say enough good things about Panel Craft. I’ve had them work on three of my last three cars, unfortunately. And I’ve been more than happy with the excellent service. Although I hope none of my friends ever need a body shop, I’m more than happy to recommend Panel Craft.

Drew and his team did a fantastic job with my car. After an ill-​fated run-​in with a trailer hitch, which put a fist-​sized hole in the body of my VW, it now looks almost new. They dealt with State Farm so I didn’t have to, and even fixed a few small things (at no additional charge) that weren’t included in the insurance claim. Highly recommend!

Dave is a smart, straight-​shooter and I joke that I only call him only when there is bad news (i.e. my car got dinged in some incident). On those unhappy occasions, Dave has been fair, tells me what is realistic, and in cases where the other party didn’t have insurance (boo!) offered fair compromise repair solution on what can be done when I pay in cash. It is also a testament to his character that most of his employees have been with him for over a decade — a rarity in an industry notorious for high turnover. Absolutely the best shop in the Bay Area.

I have used Panel Craft on a couple of occasions. Great customer service, excellent interface with insurance companies, and great work. I wouldn’t go anywhere else.

I wish there were more than 5 stars to give Panel Craft! They did an excellent and thorough job fixing my car after my collision. When I got my car back, it was as good as new and detailed. What really impressed me about Panel Craft was their customer service. Andrew was so professional, helpful, and efficient. He was always willing to answer my questions and kept me updated on the status of my repair work. He really went above and beyond to make sure I felt good about the work being done on my car. I highly recommend Panel Craft for a good experience with your car!

The absolute best! I had a horrible day after I hit my car and my bumper caved in so my trunk wouldn’t close. I checked four different body shops and they all gave me ludicrously high estimates and convoluted explanations of what needed to be done. I got a referral to panel craft just when I was about to give up. Andrew was straightforward about what needed to be done and gave me a super reasonable estimate. I also was able to pick the car up within a couple of hours. (Added bonus was that he was super nice :))

I absolutely love Panel Craft! and I’m not just saying that to merely say it. I’ve visited them at least three times now, Once to have the side of my BMW repaired, The second to have a new headlight installed and the Third was to have a piece of my bumper that fell off installed and replaced.
Each time I’ve had them work on my car they do an excellent job, I often find my car in better condition than I left it in. They are truly a pleasure to do business with. Now that I’ve been to Panel Craft, I refuse to go anywhere else if I need work done on my car. I recommended them to both of my grandparents (both of their cars need/​needed a lot of work done) and each of their cars have came back looking incredible. The cars still have things that need to be fixed, However for everything Panel Craft has done, they’ve done an excellent job. Real MVP’s .

I have been an occasional customer of Panel Craft for over 20 years. They always treated both myself and my automobiles well. The paint work is super, and the body work made it look as though my vehicle had never been damaged. I give Dave Habu and Panel Craft 5 stars.

My 2001 BMW X5 was rear-​ended by another driver. The responsible insurance company told me they were going to «total» my car. It didn’t look that bad to me. My regular mechanic agreed, and told me to take it to Panel Craft.“They know how to deal with insurance companies and the general public doesn’t”. So there was one blessing right there.
Panel Craft was very easy to deal with and I left with a slightly better car than I had before the accident. The whole insurance/​repair shop/​poor ignorant customer relationship, is fraught with the possibility that someone is going to get screwed.
It turned out that the job was fairly simple for them, but they didn’t take advantage of me, which they could have easily done. What do I know about what it actually cost them vs. what the insurance company paid them?
I got my car fixed and a good sized refund check for what it didn’t cost them to fix my car. I’m sure they made money, but if you can find another shop to be that fair to you, pass this one up, but I’m not going to.

They give u a no nonsense aproach to the solution to getting ypur car back on the road looking good and working right.

Was at phở ao sen restaurant and i came out to find someone had bumped into my bmw e92 m3. Only a minor paint scratch and i brought my car here to be touched up and dave did an amazing job. Looks newer than new. Was referred here by the guys at berkeley auto service. I would definitely return.

I visited Panel Craft twice, once to get my sideview mirror replaced, and once to get my bumper fixed. All in all, this company gives fair quotes, are very flexible, and go above and beyond to help you get your car in tip top shape as soon as possible.
Andrew tried his best to find me a used sideview mirror that matched the color of my car; unfortunately the part, when delivered had a hole in it rendering it useless. Because it was so costly to get the new part and get it painted and installed, I decided in that meantime to try to replace the mirror myself, without painting it. Andrew was more than happy to give me a refund on the deposit I paid, which I picked up from his office at my own leisure.
The second time I came to Panel Craft, my front bumper was dislodged because I backed out of my steep driveway without knowing I had a flat tire. The bumper scraped on the driveway pretty badly and tore off the front right part of the bumper. They quoted me a fair price to replace the bumper bracket and fender. Even though the parts didn’t arrive until Christmas Eve, they fit me in on Christmas Eve so that I could have my car back before they went on vacation! Additionally, when the bumper fell again, they repaired it free of charge, and glued the screws to the tabs so that they wouldn’t get dislodged again. Great service!

Took my car here to get the headlamps buffed out. they were very hazy from UV exposure.
Pros:
They did a respectable job buffing out the headlamps
Cons:
–They told me that buffing was so expensive because it was «all labor» and it would be an hour to an hour and half of labor. When they called me in 30 mins and said it was done, I asked for less than the quote since it was supposedly «all labor» cost was told «no». hmm. it’s all labor, but not really?
–They broke the headlamp mounts and didn’t bother to tell me. I found out when I opened the hood to correct the misaligned headlamps.
won’t be back and wont’ recommend them to anyone.

When my Saab got tagged by a chair that flew out of a poorly packed pickup truck on Highway 101, I knew it was time to revisit Panel Craft. I was referred to Dave at Panel Craft by my mechanic (John at Fairmount Auto) in 2011 for a similar snafu (a chunk of retread tire hitting the car on Highway 99). Dave provided excellent service back then so I was back again in 2014. I worked with Andrew this time. He took down the list of repairs and got the parts ordered. I dropped off the car the following week and by the afternoon my car (washed and sparkly) was awaiting looking brand new.
In addition to the repairs from the chair damage, I had a few other things worked on including the headlight polishing (which works remarkably). A couple of days later, I noticed a minor problem with the fog lamp repair. I set up a return with Andrew who fixed it in less than a half hour while I did a quick shop at nearby Berkeley Bowl. No charge of course (and the original pricing was very fair). This kind of business is what 5 star Unilocal ratings were made for. I would highly recommend them to anybody.

I was recently rear ended, had a lot of damage to my car and Dave here at Panel Craft really helped me out. He did everything needed to be done on my car, stayed in contact with my insurance company, and gave me a detailed copy of what needed to be done on my car. He was super friendly and his staff is nice. Always willing to help out, work around people’s schedules, give advice, and most importantly do a great job on the car.
I actually had a slight problem with my car after picking it up, and gave him a call, he was apologetic and told me to bring my car right on over. He had a worker fix the problem for me right away and even stopped traffic to help me get out.
This place is the place you want to go if you need body work. Super friendly, reliable and detailed work.
