I wanted to rave about Yolanda Figueroa who is an amazing admin assistant in the service department of McKevitt in Berkeley. There have been many changes over the years I have been a patron, but Yolanda is the person who has added continuity of quality service with a smile. She is warm, outgoing and helps in what may be a negative situation of having to deal with a broken down car. If you see her, tell her Shifra said «Hi!»

Bought a car here and they were great. A slight misunderstanding with final breakdown on settlement sheet quickly resolved by a very nice and soft spoken manager who looks great in slick black suits well tailored. Very nice man and great listener and problem solver. Salesmen at McKevitt Fiat are very very polite and helpful. You can sense their kindness when you talk to them. Best part they are not pushy at all. 5 stars to the sales Dept and lovely Fiat choices. Just this morning I walked in the showroom and viewed the new Alfa Romeo models and was greeted by the sweetest sweetesttttttttttttttttttttttttttt young Latin and incredible well dressed Latin salesman with great style. He answered all my annoying and silly questions such as…“my my my, and where exactly is the trunk space honey”!!! hahahahaha yes some of us shoppers are just too annoying. He was great, I loved him.
5 stars also to the sweet gal and nice gentleman who helped us few times in the parts department. The gal in the parts department was incredibly helpful and sweet through the whole process. Thank You are a peach.
However Paul at the service department deserves a 1000 STARS! I mean that from the bottom of my heart. He is one of the nicest and easy going men I have ever met. He handles claim requests fast and gets you in and out faster than a Japanese business man visiting a Whore house in Texas. He is very very professional, polite and quotes accurately and above all delivers on his service calls better than anyone I know. The men in his body shop are super duper nice nice nice, I am grateful for their polite and kind treatment.
Once again, thank you Paul very very very much for your kindness and for your fast service. You are a true pleasure to work with.

James is Amazing
I came in to look at the Alfa Romeo 4c and James greeted me with a warm welcome and tons of knowledge about the vehicle. If I ever have enough money to purchase this car James will be my salesmen.

One of the worst experiences I’ve ever had at a dealership. The salesman, James, is utterly word and couldn’t understand why if I made the amount of money I made why I wouldn’t pay cash. I’m sorry I’m smart person and don’t buy depreciating assets where the depreciation is my problem. Hence why wealthy people lease cars.

I likely do not qualify as your normal car shopper and/​or service user. My usual daily drivers are 40+ year old Italian cars that I often service myself; I have previously purchased only one new car — a VW bug in 1970, $ 1995 out the door. . but that’s another story.
When FIat returned to selling in the USA, I awaited the right time to again smell a new car. Many area dealers offered some pretty outstanding pricing for Fiats but I wanted to establish a relationship that was convenient for service. McKevitt Berkeley, very local, fit that requirement and also had my respect as having been the country’s first Volvo dealership.
I met salesperson Marc Korchin — explained that I wasn’t ‘a typical car buyer’ — he responded fine, as he wasn’t ‘a typical car salesman.’ All true. With a minimal amount of the expected back and forth and ‘I’ll check with my sales manager to see if this will work’ routine, we agreed on a very reasonable deal for the Sport model of choice, in the right color, in stock.
From there, through 1 year+ of ownership and excellent, thorough, personable McKevitt service department dealings, I’m very satisfied. And if the future is with me and I can again purchase another new Italian car in less than another 45 years, I’ll sure be back at Marc’s desk for a visit.

My husband and I just picked up our 500e from McKevitt Fiat Berkeley today. We had a test drive and purchased the car a few days ago with Ryan. He is a nice young salesman but he didn’t go too far in explaining about charging procedures for the car. Everything was about the sale and to close the deal fast. We scheduled to pick up the car a few days after purchase to allow for them enough time to clean and detail the car. First thing, Ryan wasn’t there today to deliver the car and set everything for us. The car was dirty still and they never touched it! We ended up cleaning it ourselves at the dealership by using a towel. The older salesman who gave us the keys was rushing us and seemed careless about our complaints. Bad for Fiat Berkeley! Even if you have 47 years in the market, keep up with your customer service.

We had a very good experience at the Berkeley McKevitt Fiat service department a few weeks ago. We own a 2013 Fiat Sport and when we purchased it, we arranged a for a retreatment of the Xzilon product after we had owned it for three years. Manny worked on it the entire morning and when we came to pick it up, I could not believe at how new the car looked and felt – perfectly smooth — and he did an incredible detail job on the interior as well, cleaning and treating EVERYTHING in sight, including the carpet!
Also when we first brought the car in, our service advisor, Sam, noticed that the tires were quite worn having been driven over 41,000 miles, and politely suggested that we could get some new tires while it was in there in the shop. He even offered to provide us with a loaner car, if necessary. We were planning on having the tires replaced with a non-​name brand tire at another shop for what we thought would be a lower price but then when he told us that we could acquire the same stock, high-​performance Conti tires from them from Fiat for only $ 145.50 each, we jumped on it!
We love the car and we were more than impressed with the service that we received at at Berkeley McKevitt Fiat!

We just leased a fiat e and were helped by Ryan Dasilva. He was supr duper helpful and professional and we love our new fiat e!

I wanted to lease my first car ever, and as a novice to all things automotive, I received great information from Ryan about which car would fit my needs best, and helped me figure out the car, what to do if I needed had some minor problem from my car (so I didn’t need to bring it in to the dealership to get it fixed every single time I had a problem), and answered all my questions thoroughly. I never thought that leasing a car would be so easy! I highly recommend McKevitt as a place to get a Fiat (I wanted a tiny car so I could fit into parking spaces better — I’m a terrible parallel parker), and ask for Ryan because he is very knowledgeable, accommodating and friendly, and helps you out with all your needs!

My first week with my 500X, and I am happy with it! It’s so cute! Ryan, as well as his manager Paul, was willing to work out an irresistible deal for the holiday season.
This studio was pretty helpful. I appreciated that they maintained a low-​pressure environment where they took care of my trade, paperwork, and DMV-​related documents. Thanks again!

If I can tell you anything, I’ll tell you this: I am in awe of how great their customer service is at this car dealership and just how GENUINELY HELPFUL their staff was during my visit. Now, I’m going to be upfront. I know almost next to nothing about cars (beyond how to drive it and put gas and all’ the basics), so when I wanted to lease a car I could barely understand the jargon that was being thrown at me when I went to other dealerships! Two people in particular — Ryan and Nick — really helped me get this done efficiently and with such ease, by the end — I felt more knowledgable about their cars and what leasing meant and alla’ that good stuff.
I just leased a 500e from Ryan and he provided me with so much useful information about the 500 electric. His personal website also really helped me out with this because I didn’t know what the differences were when it came to make/​model/​what have you for different electric vehicles. He helped making this comparison a lot easier and made me feel like I was making the best investment when I was shopping.
I also worked with Nick, the General Manager, who was the man who really helped me UNDERSTAND what it meant to lease car and the rebates that go along with it. What I thought was super complicated prior to my visit at McKevitt Fiat became quite simple after hearing his explanations! And even when I was confused, it was great because I never felt belittled or like my questions were not valid.
tl;dr — McKevitt Fiat, I can’t thank you enough for making this car leasing experience a breeze for me! I really want to recommend and commend Ryan and Nick for pairing me with my 500e! I love it!

I hate writing negative review, but customer service at this place is horrible. I ordered a new key for my dodge caravan a month ago through this dealership. Sales rep at the dealership told me that they do not have key in stock and they would order it for me and call me when they have it. I waited for about a month no one from the dealership called me back. Then, I called the dealership back only to find out that they got the key but did not bother to call me back to let me know.
Then, I made an appointment to pick up the key and have it get programmed. I showed up at the appointment at 8 am and left the car. To my dismay, someone from dealership called me in the afternoon to let me know that they would not be able to program the key today and I need to bring back the van on Monday. At this point, I refused to make the rebook another appointment with this place. I am taking my business elsewhere !

I called McKevitt Fiat yesterday and spoke to James Hall-​Gallagher. He was extremely helpful, immediately sent me an email with the information he promised and he was an absolute joy to do business with in person. There was no pressure whatsoever involved in the sale.
I am still traumatized by my experience of buying my first new car… and that was back in 1998! James made this process SO EASY & there was absolutely no stress involved. It was a very easy, friendly experience.
Paul, the manager (I think he was the manager) was also helpful. And they both had great people skills & great senses of humor. Paul & his staff never once treated me «like a female customer»… as has happened to me my entire life when vehicles are involved. (And that’s funny, considering my background both driving and inspecting commercial vehicles.)
Overall, an outstanding experience.
I cannot recommend the services of James Hall-​Gallagher at McKevitt Fiat highly enough.
If you’re in the market for a new vehicle, give him a call!
He’s got a great selection of electric vehicles that are surprisingly affordable, as well as traditional gas-​powered vehicles. Save yourself some big money on gas & check out the Fiat 500e. OMG, it was practically free!!!

After shopping for a Fiat 500e lease around all bay area dealers, I can conclude without a doubt that Ryan Daliva was the finest sales rep by far. He understands how modern customers shop and gather info online. Ryan then supports the process with focused pointers to additional specific relevant information.
Throughout the whole process of choosing, feature comparison, pricing and explaining all EV related details — Ryan was professional, kind, honest and trustworthy. Ryan even offers a personally built website with fantastic highlights about the new technologies and operations of an Electric Vehicle. Ryan was never pushy and gained my trust.
I’m grateful for all the personal attention Ryan invested in me, reaching out to educate me on several occasions.

Going about my day today, I saw a lot of Fiats. Which pulled me to go test drive one. I stopped by this one in Berkeley because I was here running errands for my grandma who lives nearby.
I was greeted by Ryan, one of the salesman. He offered to take me on a test drive with the Fiat 500x. I’ve been looking at Mini Countrymans for a while and he told me that this would be a better option then the Countryman.
Ryan was more than helpful and also did not pressure me into try and buy the vehicle the same day. When I’m ready to buy, I’ll be back here looking for Ryan.

Terrible service. I dropped off keys and I had left my light on and told them to please turn it off in the morning. I showed up to pick up my car 3 days later and the light in my car was still on.
They also overcharge the living poo out of you. Be wary!

Worst service experience from a dealer.
I owned many cars over the years, ranging from Porsche, VW, Toyota, Honda and now Fiat 500e. Normally I go to Fiat in Fremont, but due to a mishap and I had to call road side assistance, the Fiat was towed to the nearest Fiat dealer, i.e. McKevitt.
The experience was quite distress. First of all, the Tow truck driver sent by Fiat did not have the Fiat eye-​bolt to engage the tow, and we could not locate it on all the hidden compartment. I called McKevitt to try to find out if 500e indeed has an eye-​bolt (this is a first that I own a car that has no tow eye-​bolt). I was given all kinds of shitty response from the Service Dept: «…if you cannot find it, then it must not have it… perhaps it is with the spare tire…’ Come-​on, they are a Fiat service center and they don’t know if Fiat has or has no included eye-​bolt, and alas, Fiat 500e has no spare tire, and that should not be a response from a Fiat service adviser.
So to make a long story short, the car was towed and service. They charged $ 175 to re-​charge the battery, worse, they said to call me next morning to confirm everything is fine. Waited till 11AM in the morning, left 3 messages, no reply. Finally I yelled at the operator and then I was able to be connected to a real person instead of the answering machine.
Well, the worse and unexpected (I am already pissed for a $ 175 battery charging — which meant I could have gotten a brand new battery for less than that). They did not even charge my car, so I can’t go to work without waiting another 2 hours for my car to charge.
Basically, by not promptly answering calls and not charging the car, I lost one day of work.
It is basic courtesy to top-​up and charge customer’s car, particularly the car had problem with charging in the first place. They also did not wash the car.

McKevitt Fiat service department is a misogynist, sexist and racist. I’ve been a long term client. Recently, I had a major issue with a defective hydraulic unit that broke the welding of the hatchback. I took the car in for service. The car is 2 years old and under warranty. Instead of investigating the issue, they immediately accused me breaking the car, because it made a lot of sense for me to remove the welding of the hatchback (NOT!) Then when I told them no, that’s not possible, they accused of me overstuffing the trunk, when all I had was my small gym bag. They did not bother to look at the obvious and broken hydraulic unit that they removed for me!
They have a history of being negligent and incompetent. I already have an issue with the USB port not functioning. It took me three tries including leaving the car for an entire day only to be told that they had not looked at it. Finally, they told me that they had to order a new part. I phoned back to the service department a week later and they told me to phone the parts department. The parts department then told me that the parts were in and the service department needs to call me to make an appointment. This type of run-​around is very frustrating, and VERY COMMON. I learned that from reading other reviews.
On my third visit when they started to tell me that I broke the car and they are not responsible, when in fact the headquarter had agreed with my assessment of the defective hydraulic unit being the cause of the welding coming off, I finally had enough and told them that this type of misogynistic sexist remarks is not acceptable. The two white male who work at the department told me two things flat out.
1. They are not Fiat and they don’t care. (not true. by the way. They do hold the Fiat brand)
2. «Leave and don’t ever come back.”(The second and older white man told me that).
A business like this existed in the 1950s America, and should not be allowed to operate in the 21^st century of America, let alone in a liberal minded college town.
As a consumer, you have a choice to make. Do you want to support a sexist, misogynist, and possibly racist business? I don’t.

Terrific customer service from both Ryan and Ali before, during and after my wife and I bought our new electric Fiat 500.
Easy going yet informative, they both made the experience stress free and fun.
